- This Limited Edition SG Standard has all the features of the original SG's - the double cutaway design, body crafted from solid mahogany, classic SG tone. What's different? The fretboard was made from baked maple - which isn't a standard feature in most SGs, and the Vintage Sunburst finish is also unique.
Overall, this guitar is a real rock n' roll machine.

Im owning one of this vintage sunburst guitars for almost 11 years. Gibson produced them for 2 years, i think they made ~400 guitars of this particular colour, according to serial numbers that i could find.
SG is the most accommodating gibson ive ever played. Every note that i ever picked on my feels like it was made of such a guitar-typed grandpiano vibes. Never going to sell it
This is my all time dream guitar i cant sleep at night because i do not own it makes me sick
Love the vintage sunburst finish on an SG! Gorgeous instrument! The SG Standard sets the standard!
Nice review, thank you for posting. I have this exact guitar in the same vintage sunburst finish, and also play it thru Blues jr II, so you are right on. I find the red SG's to be a bit too common in comparison, and I wanted something different. This is a beautiful looking instrument. The fretboard on my guitar has turned quite dark over the years, as I put lemon oil on it as I would Rosewood, and the grain is very fine. My other guitars are a Fender American Standards Tele Deluxe and Strat, but my SG is truly sublime in comparison. The SG comfort, feel, and playability is sweet, and the pickups are very hot compared to the singles on my Fenders. Truly an outstanding Gibson.
Great video
Wow I would have never imagined Gibson using roasted maple for fretboards very cool!
That sunburst finish is beautiful!
The first time I saw a roasted maple fretboard was on a Les Paul BFG 'Gator' in 2013. This SG sounds and looks amazing, a lot of which comes down to the skill of the person playing it. I'd definitely buy one of these if I was looking for a new guitar.
What a nice tone!🤘 Awesome SG
Thats a nice one! Sounds awesome too
adore SG Guitars, one of my personal absolute fav Guitar in the whole world
also one of the best ever crafted but somewhat, they tend to be very under appreciated
i love my Black SG, for a reason i cannot explain they have an even greater mystique of beauty all in black
also suggest you to look for the SG models created by Firefly Guitars
in case you are not aware of those they look just too good and you could find very interesting models in a very low price
I want that
great vid! how would you describe the sound difference between baked maple and rosewood? is baked maple more trebly and rosewood dark sounding?
i think that there is no difference at all
you are really making me reconsider SG's as an option.Ive always like the looks and sound but avoided because of the control/output jack seeming too clustered together. I have big hands .how do you feel about the neck? The ones Ive tried feel wide.. 12 inch radius?
If you still have this would you sell it?
It wasn’t mine, had it on loan
