So kind of you to post, Don. Check out episode nine Pocomoke River as we were right in your “backyard” last weekend. What a beautiful area you live in and I hope to see more of it…I’ve submitted the claim and hope the adjuster comes out on Monday and can tell me what my options are. Really frustrating in the heart of riding season. Have a ride for me. Cheers.
Hello Brian
Sorry to hear you had this accident. I am new to your channel, and I want to say last October I had to be towed back into the marina because my batteries on my Sea-Doo trophy went bad. I hope the insurance company treats you well.
I live near Salisbury Maryland and look forward to your videos of the eastern shore once you get back up and running. God bless. Don
Super glad that you were able to safely make it back to shore. I have the Explorer Pro, and so far, so good. Hitting something unknowingly in the water is one of my worst fears. You made it more reassuring by going step by step throughout the process. Again, I'm glad you're safe and good luck with your insurance agency.
Thank you for the comment. Please consider adding a bilge pump. Check out my previous video about mods and garage talk. I had another GTX sink on me and it is a helpless feeling. A bilge pump is going to help buy you some time. I was able to settle up with the insurance company. Now, I’m trying to decide what’s next. Thanks for watching!
Love the content. Picking up my first PWC soon. I'll be launching from Truxtun park, your videos have given me some great ideas for day trips with the wife. Hopefully your insurance does the right thing.
Thanks for the comment and the kind feedback. Yes, plenty of places to get out and explore. There are several good FB groups in Maryland that organize rides as well…I had the machine insured through Progressive. They totaled the machine. There is no way to repair the Sea Doo ST3 hulls with anything more than a small crack. Progressive was responsive and quick to pay me out…now, I have to decide what is next. I’m thinking about a different manufacturer. Happy riding. Cheers.
The key bridge strikes back 😮
Yes, I wonder if some piece of the wreckage is what caused the damage. Brutal. I should be cruising around the eastern shore with you.
I hope the insurance company takes good care of you. Im picking up a new RXTX this week and just went through the process of picking up a policy. Ive watched quite a few of your videos and appretiate the content you make. Was the item you struck floating or attached to something under the water ?
Thanks for the comment, Fred. Enjoy the RXTX and check out episode seven for some discussion on gear and modifications…good question on what I hit. Quite frankly, I’m not sure if it was floating or in place. There were some rollers and it was still early in the morning so the glare of the sun off the water’s surface was in play, too. I think coupling both elements together obfuscated my view a bit. Probably 5-10 feet before I hit, whatever it was, I saw it, tried to swerve and brake and made impact. Fortunately, I was probably only going 15-25 mph and not very fast. I didn’t stick around to investigate what I struck, rather I immediately and quickly headed for the closest shore to beach the machine and assess. Once a Sea Doo starts taking on water in the engine compartment, it’ll go down quickly. Consider adding a bilge pump to your new machine. Happy riding. Cheers.
Sorry for your damage, Sea doos has a very weak hull, for a strong hull you got to go with Kawasaki ultras and the most important YOU DON'T PULL SEA DOOS WITH OUT A INTAKE HOSE CLAMPS IF YOU DON'T PUT CLAMP ON THE INTAKE HOSE ,WATER GOES TO THE COMBUSTION CHAMBER AND YOU'LL LOCK THE ENGINE.. HOPE EVERYTHING GOES WELL WITH THE INSURANCE AND THEY DON'T PUT IT TOTAL LOSS
Thank you for your comment. Yes, I’m aware of the towing recommendation. Please check out episode seven where I talked about the 1/4 turn cutoff valve i installed on the water intake for towing. Yes, the Kawis do have better hulls. Do you have one? How do you like it?
The water craft journal prefers Kawi and that guy knows about ski .if you want to know about Kawasaki watch JD's water world you'll learn about Kawasaki
@@jrg4435 thanks for the feedback. Yes, I’ve seen some of Kevin Shaw on WCJ. I’ll check out the other channel.
