How to fix ERROR 8 on the ZERO E-Scooter

- Simple tutorial to fix the ERROR 8 on the ZERO E-scooter. From our previous tutorial, you will find out that the ERROR 8 code description refers to something very obscure: Turnstile error. This "turnstile" is basically the throttle lever that is connected to the LCD.
There are 2 reasons for this error on the lever:
1. The screw isn't tight or the screw is too tight (both of which are no good).
2. The magnet on the lever has fallen out of place

worked for my Mototech thor 60v 2400w scooter. Note that the screw was an Allen bolt on mine, tried tightening first and that didn't work, then just took it apart, cleaned the magnet and reinstalled (had to clean it twice), worked after that.
How about water can that make error code as well in the thor?
If you take the spring out, it's easy to put it in. First, fix one end in the controller and angle the spring a bit up for the other end, and put the plastic only slightly on the top. You can catch it with the plastic inside the top part and use that to tension the spring and press it down in its place. It worked fast, but only after I've tried many other ways, and yeah, my 08 error is still there.

This doesnt solve my error #8 problem, I even checked the inside sensor ( 3 legged)
If it is lose or what ever.
Clean the magnet , etc etc.
Nothing works.
I had this problem it was due to a wire short circuiting which in turn did something to the battery management system which cut my 48 volt battery down to 5 volts so I had to disconnect it reconnected and then it would work but I had to find the short in the wire to stop it happening again. Plus looking at the battery management system something had short it out there as well and it only needed the black soot cleaned off for it to work again
Where can you get a magnet like that if the one you have fell out
Have removed the Throttle and replace and tighten screws but still the same code please can you help

I put a new throttle but even so I show error 08 what could it be then

Then it’s hall sensor from the motor not from the throttle

That spring sucked but I used a paper clip to pull it over and hooked it back in and then kind of pushed shoved the screen and sensor back in place
I’m having a very hard time to put that feckin’ spring back !!!! How the hell to fix it ?
I used small screw driver to push it in. Then hard part is getting the screen or the sensor squeezed between. Lol. That's harder
DamJDonkey thanks. I might end up buying a new one. I can squeeze the coil but impossible to place the cap into the position. Jumps every time :(
I was able to put the spring back in! Bend the spring up a bit so it makes it easier to catch the hook on the finger throttle. Straighten out a paperclip and then at one end bend the paperclip to make small hook. Have someone press down flush on the back of the Display/Throttle unit as you pull the back far enough to catch the hook inside the finger throttle. Release the paperclip by sliding the self-made paperclip hook out.
My lcd trigger was working fine then one day I turned led lights on by holding mode button down... now pins that turn lcd light on that come out of lcd throttle are permanently on... can never turn my led lights off unless I unplug entire throttle... any solution for this ?

my magnet came loose and fell of, i cannot find it even i walked all the freeking road looking for it,, guys be aware of this little piece, can make all the scooter go useless until you get a replacement, coz that magnet is hard to find... the only place to get this replacement is the seller you got the scooter from or aliexpress.. check if it is propperly glued... i cant belive they didnt placed any safety to that magnet other than just glue...

I need help, I don't know what to do, I bought the nanrobot d6+ 2.0, and when it arrived, the throttle didn't work, so I changed it, and everything worked correctly for 2 months, after nothing, error 1 appeared again, which is a fault in the accelerator, like this I changed it again, and it only lasted two days. I don't know what could be failing, I tried to press everything, remove the trigger and clean and nothing, I'm very worried about this,
Where can I get a replacement magnet like that. I just found out why my Zero 10X stopped working properly coz that magnet is missing, they really should glue this piece stuck in at the factory I think.

Just solved Error 8, Was not the throttle. My Kaabo Mantis Dual Motor, Dual Controllers. One of the battery connections (large yellow plug) to the controller became dislodged.
This is only for zero scooters. Every model has their own error codes
Have got a new throttle but still have 08 code anything else I can try

It hasn't worked, I have the E08 code on my lcd and I unplugged it, checked the magnet, the spring and the screw but there's nothing wrong with them.
It works for most. Then you just have to change your lcd

Same here, doesn’t solve error code 8 for me. Swapped out the lcd for a different one and it’s working so problem must be with the lcd itself.

I have just checked my magnet and it has a lot of chunky looking rust on it. I have a few things i could clean this with but im worried about ruining it in the process. Can i use some fine sand paper on the magnet to clean the debris/rust ?

It is imported from China,the model is zero scooter. Is it more possible that the problem is on the scooter or on the velocity counter? The message is error E001

Wait, how do you get the spring to work? The video glossed over that part. He didn't demonstrate how to get the spring to fit properly against the plastic.

@@Nosci1020 unplug your LCD connector and plug back in. Check these few things: 1. Is your throttle spring working properly?
Falcon PEV yes the spring is working properly already unplug it but still have those error codes

I think I found a third reason why one would get Error 8. I upgraded my battery pack to a 55.5 volt for extra range and speed and the controller throws an Error 8 only in the last few mm of throttle lever travel but then it goes away at less throttle. this happens in any of the modes. Error goes away once battery discharges to about 57 volts from 63v fully charged from initial testing. I will try to rectify myself somehow.
