    Hello!
    Your video was very informative! Thank you so much. I am interested in health informatics. Currently, I am in a Data analytics masters program and I was contemplating if I should change to Information technology with á concentration in health informatics. Would either degree be in my advantage?

    • @forhealthscholars
      @forhealthscholars  Před rokem +2

      Hi @849lovely thanks for watching & welcome to channel! I’m happy that you found this video helpful. Depending on how much of the degree requirements you completed with your current Master’s program, I wouldn’t recommend changing your major if it is going to cost you more money or lose time. There is a job position called health informatics analyst. If you have a few years of experience in the healthcare field you mostly likely can acquire a role in informatics with you data analyst degree. However if you don’t mind the burden of switching degree programs, then I would recommend you proceed in acquiring a health informatics degree. This would give a better understanding of the industry.

      Same! It’s almost impossible to find a job in this field. Most hospitals don’t want to sponsor to go get an Epic Cert. It seems like most hospitals reserve those jobs for RN’s. The gate keeping on these positions is real! I’m really close to regretting getting this Masters Degree. I have found a job, but it’s not the right one. I’ve been here since January and so far 5 people have quit from my group (we had 11 when I started). Other applications also have very high turnover rates also.
