Only if youre using it as a server, since it (A9)has that USB slot . A9 is older by 1 yr than C80.
C80 has the mesh yech while A9 doesnt have. If you wont be needing the server functionality(which you can do on free cloud or your own server) then C80 is better(plus the easy setup mesh)

    2. Wireless Router TP - Link Archer C6 AC1200

  • @josephattard_PIC_Spartan6_Zynq

Hi, I just bought the Archer C80 AC1900 router. I wanted to replace my old TL-WA855RE range extenders with this router so that i will be able to have more communication speeds.
To my dismay and disappointment, not only does it not match the transfer rate of the old TL-WA855RE range extender but it is slower!
The main modem is transferring data at approx. 900Mb/s through a LAN100 cable, and the wireless trasfer rate of the Archer C80 is 85Mb/s. in its specs TPLink is boasting that it can transfer up to 600Mb/s on 2.4GHz.
When i used the TL-WA855RE, the wireless download transfer rate was 94Mb/s.
can you tell me why TPlink gives out specs that are never reached?!!

No, TP-Link didn't "lie" about the 2,4 Ghz speeds (by the way, only morons would think that since users would catch up on it instantly) .
The 600 Mbs speed advertised are real - but only with a 3-stream client, obviously - which this phone (ANY phone, for that matter) definitely is not. More than this, Samsung phone are famously bad at wifi. Still, 100 Mbs throughput would amount to, say, 150 Mbs linkrate, still too low for a Wifi 5 Wave 2 connection.

As it comes to the Archer C80.... do not bother even to buy this
model.!!! It is the worse of all and very expensive. The capabilities of
this router are not so good , actually are VERY BAD. First off all new
firmware or not it has only 16 maximum entries for NAT port forwarding
so be careful what you are looking for. Secondly it doesn't have an
option like "enable" or "disable" for MAC address binding ..!!! Very
very bad . It has ONLY whitelist with manual entry of MAC address and
only for the whitelist , NOT for the Blacklist (the manual entry) which
is VERY VERY BAD and unpractical for someone who wants to keep truck of
the connected devices on your router and have the quick way of enable or
disable them...VERY VERY BAD. Also it doesn't have a user name on login
screen , only password which BAD for security...and many other awful
things I do not like...what about your experience ???
