  • Artist Giles Whitehead recalls his art student days being inspired by Dungeness and the rainy day when artist and film maker Derek Jarman invited him in for tea. The film features Giles' drawings, painting, prints and photographs of Derek Jarman's garden from the early nineties as well as contemporary film footage.

    Woweeee. I’ve just seen photos of Mr. Jarman’s house and garden. So fu I made this. I like it. Don’t care what you like. Love the video. As the video drew to a close the “Ducks’ Ditty” from Wind In The Willows came to mind. Love those strange little connections. I just looked it up as I only remembered the last line. Here are to last 2 stanzas:
    Everyone for what he likes!
    We like to be
    Heads down, tails up,
    Dabbling free!
    High in the blue above
    Swifts whirl and call -
    We are down a dabbling
    Up tails all!

      Thanks Deb! Glad you enjoyed the video. Yes, that’s a good one. Ducks were always my favourite creatures as a child, so that is a good analogy😀
