@@jameshermes5576 it's training, learning how to position your body in the air is key. best to learn at lower heights than break your back being stupid.
I’ve jumped 17 metres off a bridge into a river in New Zealand. I bruised the back of my legs so bad. I wouldn’t do it again 😂. But anything under 14 meters is cool for me.
Same thing here in Canada. We had cliffs anywhere from. 10’ - 135’. Some you had to hit the water in a certain spot while others you had to clear lower rocks. There were ppl doing gainers off that shit.
Imagine a world where people are so out of touch with nature (and themselves) that we need to teach them how to jump off a rock, then give them a certificate when they do. FYI, that isn’t even diving.
But it is accomplishment. Working your way to higher and higher levels and facing your fears to complete a jump from 10 meters is a VERY BIG THING for a lot of people. So you want to chastise them for making themselves better? When I was a young boy and my aunt taught me how to dive in the water instead of jumping feet first I was so proud of myself. I have done things in my life that would make you piss your pants. I walked through the middle of a firefight in Afghanistan, bullets flying all around me. I just casually strolled across 60 foot opening to get to the other side of Base Entry control point. Now if you had the balls to crawl across in that same scenario I would not say to you, that isn’t even crossing because you crawled. I would pat you on the back and say that took a lot of courage. That’s my opinion anyway. Hope you can look at things differently about their jumps into the water now
@@regsim7507 That’s my point exactly. Nothing of interest to some people but to the people that accomplished this it is a big deal to them. 10 meters is a fear height for probably most people in the world. Sure, many have no problem with this height. But they did and they conquered their fears. That’s a good thing. 😋
@@LowSparkofHighHeeledBoys if that's what you think an accomplishment is. fair enough. any able bodied person who can swim can do this in my opinion. I don't think this is much of a hardship to overcome. hardly a real life struggle and certainly not worth advertising.
When jumping higher you have to cross your wrists over your upper chest and squeeze your elbows tight over your lower ribs. This protects you from getting the air knocked out of your lungs. Your hands have to be flat and pressed hard on top of your chest. If they are fists you can punch yourself in the jaw.
I was just thinking the same, in that stance you're just sinking as deep as possible, but with the safety position, as you described, you don't go deep, you float
Yes, jumping from a height into water can actually kill you or disfigure you for life....if you fall the wrong way it's no different than hitting a pavement from height.
I didn’t have any training and jumped off the 10 meter platform at Michigan State University. But I made the mistake of having my feet spread apart and the water smacked my balls so hard I thought I would never get back to the surface as I laid on the bottom of the pool curled up in a ball writhing in pain. 😮
Hahahahaha, hey Ricky I also jumped off the 10m at Michigan State University! But I leaned back and smacked the back of my thighs. Never jumped 10m ever again. 😂
Wow, cool lessons to make the jump. We did Kawasan Falls in PH and never got pointers. Just hucked ourselves. Highest was 50+ ft when you climbed the tree above the step off. Crazy

About 10 meters is where some people start to quit.. we used to go to a quarry.. I had a friend who would run and jump off 60 feet as soon as we got there.. he never even looked at the water
I stopped jumping when I once went down the 5m board and almost ripped my balls of. 😂😅 I really thought "that's it, no kids for me" it hurt so fucking much. I also had no idea why it was happening, as I jumped down normally, as I always did. No fancy shit. Somehow, when the water entered my pants, my balls were smashing onto the watersurface or some effect like that. Since then I'm afraid. Not because of the height, but because I never ever want to experience that shit again.
😂, way we trained was. Step 1. Find gliff Step 2 . See how deep water is under it, by diving here and there. (Same you see if there is trees or other stuff in way. Step 3. Start jumping
WTF? I took my 14 year old boy and 17 year old girl canyoning two summers ago, so they were 12 and 15 at the time, and they jumped a 12 meter drop from a cliff down a 4 meter wide pipe like hole in the cliffs, along with a waterfall, landing in cold water and a strong current. And here we have adults doing cliffjumping school, starting at 1 meter, working their way up to 10, and then celebrating like it's a huge thing. Have these ppl not lived before this?
The guy doing 10m was leaning forward slightly too much for my liking when he stepped off, and he took his time raising his arms. Just imagine what it would be like if your body was rotated forwards when you hit the water.
Ridiculous! I was expecting something like 15-20 meters. Every school kid can dive 10m in their home town's swimming pool...no need to pay someone to teach you.
To jump from 10 meters, they need training? Every damn pool here has a 10 meter diving tower and four year old kids jump down. Shit, extremely brave of these people in the video...😂

So what do you do for a living? “Ohhh, I teach adults how to jump in a pool!” 😂.

Getting taught to jump...i would do it.. nice incentive
I was there last year with my wife and daughter! We loved the launch slides the most!
So cool yeah 🔥👍🏻
every Saturday at the baths with others egging you on. I was about 12 when I first went off top board.
Yeah, rename it Cliff Jumping School coz none of them dove.👍
As kid, 8 years old we did 12 meter as swimmingpool😅
Forget diving…… teach me how to swim first 😩😩😩 or be ready to save me asap 😂
Canal D’ Amour in Corfu test which is 15+ meters you should go and dive in very small space…
I know it well. Beautiful place near Sadari. 👍
did that when i was about 10 we used to call it jumping swimming pool Leys Dagenham !!

U mean the blue paint from the pool
It's a pool. Not natural.
10 meters is not high diving. Try 135’ into a 12’ deep pool
What's 135'? Yards???? Metric system, please 😊
OMG 33 feet!! So unreal... 😅

Was just there, beautiful in certain areas.
I can’t with the Speedo 😂
Go ahead and cliff dive in your cool ass board shorts! Hope you either like digging them out of your ass or walking out of the water buck naked!
How about 100 or 200 meters? Then you have time to say a prayer before you Hit the water.
