Thank you! I really want to do more soon but just don't have the time or space for it. In the future I will definitely do more, just not in the short term. Thanks for the motivation, it really makes me want to make more!
Awesome! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for watching! Yes, I've tried baby powder and it works great! Dawn dish soap works pretty well too.
Yes, I did one on changing the suspension oil. It is in editing right now and will be up soon! Watch out for it.
You shouldn't use a toque wrench to loosen bolts its bad for the calibration
Im only replying to this so hopefully more people will read your comment.
Wow your Vids are a great help to me! Now i can pretty much do most of the stuff on my own now, thanks man!
Yes, I did a Tech Lesson on building wheels. It will be up in a few weeks.
Outstanding. Nice to see a tire change how-to video that shows the process being done without a tire changing stand and a shop full of specialized tools and equipment.
Great vid, especially how you pulled the old tire off. I must admit that rim lock and I have had some serious name-calling sessions, and I've resorted to putting another hole in the rim tape, installing the bead lock into the tire, and installing both beads at the same time. Rim tape ends up under the bead lock, instead of over it like you've got it.
Good video, I didn't know that the back tire was supposed to be 94 ft lbs, I will have to recheck my rear wheel also from when I adjusted the chain the other day, thank you
@Hellgren108 Thanks! I plan on doing a lot more.
@juhmoney760 The socket is a 32mm, and the torque wrench is a 1/2 inch.
Are the spacers on rear wheel, to rest inside bearings so the wheel is free to spend without resistance?when i spend my rear tire with only spacers inside the hub there seems to be a lot of resistance! Bearings are fairly new. This is a 2002 YZ250F, with excel rims. Thank you for your time and response.
I use 2 pair of c-clamp vise grips to hold the tire down just clamp them on the tire and not my knee just helps out and makes it easy. Good job on a good post.
After I have seen your vid, I bought a "bead buddy" tool and everything worked out just fine. Took only a couple of minutes for putting a new front tire on the rim. Thanx a lot!
Thank You!
@juhmoney760 I'm just using a Craftsman torque wrench. Anything that will go up to about 100 ft-lbs and down to 10 ft-lbs will work on a bike. They're only about $70-$100.
I restore dirt bikes and I still can't get these tires off. I take Cotto pep boys. Also, what is a good wheel cleaner to get a lot of grime off? Thanks
What bike is this for? a 90/100-16 is a standard size for a MX bike rear wheel. All two stroke 85 big wheels use 90/100-16 rear tires.
very good job , congrat !
Thanks for watching!
excellent video, thanks
Thanks!
I'm having trouble getting the bead to fully set on the rim. How much air pressure can you safely put into the tire to get the bead to set? Other suggestions?
You can make your life a whole lot easier if you finish at the rim lock, and you use a couple of small wedges of wood spaced evenly when you are spooning the second side on to keep the bead in the drop center to give yourself more play when spooning the opposite side on
Thank you so much for this video! I've never had success doing this before.
Thx 4 the Tech lesson :)
how bout a video on front suspension adjustment
Nice!
Yes, it will.
could you do one on replacing spokes?
Apply some soap to the bead and that should help. Some tires take all the pressure you can put in before the bead seats.
The part I struggle with the most on dirt tires is getting the first side on or the last side off. Ironically that is the easiest part on street tires with my NoMar machine
good job !
Thanks for the vid. There were a couple of neat tricks I learned. One thing, I use baby powder on the tube before installing it in the tire. Never had a problem with that. Any thoughts out there on that?
Thanks for watching! The baby powder idea works pretty good! I didn't do it back when I made this video but I've been doing it recently and have had good luck with it.
what gear does the bike have to be in when taking off the tire?
Yes, it will fit.
you make look easy...thanks
I learned not to do the sprocket side first the hard way today. Got about 5 cuts on my right hand and 3 on my left.
more lessons! :D very helpful! kinda noob to mx so :)
Ph
Maybe i can do this on my honda xr150L.. its good..
I want to see you doing a wheelie at 4 or 5 gear please and thank you
Nice man
Where did you get the rim decals?
will a 3.00-16 fit a 90/100-16
A 90/100-16 rear tire is the correct size for a CRF100.
Just spent 2 hours yesterday going through the same process, a lot of sweat and swearing, I give up. This vid is also a failure. Ive got mates who can do it in 3 mins. Retrospectively I have learnt that when you put the tire back on, you need to prevent it going back into the bead. Keep the tire in the centre in of the rim channel (the lowest point) to give you as much slack as possible when trying to get it over the rim on the opposite side. If its your first time, get a second person to help by ensuring the tire doesn't slip back into the bead. Big fan BTW :)
We're did u get those rim graphics
And what kind of torque wrench are you using and would you recommend d it?
a crappy kind. Besides it being a click type (not as accurate as others), That type of locking mechanism (the black knob on the bottom) usually are only on cheaper ones.
How to adjust chain since you were speaking of it during the rear wheel install.
They are called rim graphics or rim wraps. I bought them off Motosport.
will it b a litto bit big
They were from Motosport. com
awesome thnks
How to buy this tyre
Man, I find it funny how people are on a how to vide and they are telling you what to do. Why did they click on the vid in the first place haha
That's right haha. Everyone has their own way of doing things, this is just the way I found best and I thought I'd share.
They were from Motosport.
possibly a 250 two stroke top end rebuild?
OneOne9 Creations thanks man.. im aiming to get a 250 2 stroke, and im also aiming on machanics... thanks man :)
OneOne9 Creations hhhhhzhhdhhhchhxhdhdhdh nxhhdhyuddhdhhyyxy7-#bxh&& ;jxj?&
I have one in Tech Lesson 5 - Washing Your Bike.
yes i no but will a 3.00-16 fit it cus that is wut they sent me
You should do a carb cleaning video
how to change number plates
nice thx :)
Good. But you should never use a torque wrench for loosening.
@thelinkinboys11
Haha, I should have worn my pitbike boots. That would have been funny.
Break the bead on both sides of the tire. Makes it far easier.
Ok thanks
now i know how to remove and put back the wheel thanks
i think you need a set of alpinestar tech 2 just to add a factory touch...
+++++FIVE STAR+++++
front tire change
you could very easily warp your brake disk if you are not careful doing this!
Thanks,I was enjoying it until tire reinstall.Way too much effort.
Much easier if not on your knees, set wheel on a 33 gal drum, and tools next you on the bench.dawn good but try murphy soap for lube instead
crf 100f
i want that HONDA. jacket...
had you not taken a bite that was over a foot and just a few inches that tire would have gone on a lot easier. you really should spray inside the tire either.
You should invest in a tires stand :)
I would also change it sprocket side down. That disc is way more expensive than that rear sprocket and plus you'll never bend that sprocket!
not gonna bend the rotor. Also not sure where your getting your costs from. You can buy a rotor for 50 bucks and sprocket for 100. all depends on which ones you want.
+RKF427 If my disk was bent by a Tech at a dealer I would make them replace it with stock... They are expensive for the manf.
If anybody bent my rotor I would make them replace it. Also there never any reason to buy an OEM rotor. Also, who mentioned anything about a tech bending a rotor? If a dealer pinched my tube, when changing my tire, they would replace it too but yet theres no need to bring that up because it wasn't mentioned.
HETAKUSO
Hey 119 is my # lol
u do it the hard way why?
Your beating the shit out of the disc rotor by throwing it around like that.
You repeatedly say, "valve stem", and I'm thinking, I've never seen someone remove or install a valve stem with an inner tube before. Don't you mean valve CORE? Couldn't this confuse beginners? I am a beginner as well and this is confusing for me. Do modern motorcycle inner tubes have removable valve STEMS? I know back in the day, they didn't.
Yes, I meant core, but stem is the term I always went by years ago when this video was made. I think by watching the video viewers can get an idea what I'm referring to.
Who taught you to place tire irons that far apart, never ever take bites more than a few inches apart while holding the opposite side in the drop center. I broke a sweat watching you struggle with that tire, tire irons half the circumference apart. I would have had it on and inflated by the time you stretched the cords on that and your back.
***** Haha, that's exactly what I was thinking! Much easier to talk than walk.
better go to vulcanizing shop....change tire cause only...almost 25peso or $2.50...
ALWAYS start pull out tyre on the opposite side of the rim lock dude...
VERY TUSK REALING NOW NEWS TOOLS BETTER MOMEMT FOR OFFICE CHANGE WORLD TOGHETER PLANET BLUE LOOK NOW SUCH BY STANDER PLEASE TKS.
No you did it all wrong if you had my metzaler tyers you never get it on line that
for fucks sake. put some soap on that tyre . a fucked rim and a damaged bead
Thank You!
Thanks for watching!
Thx 4 the Tech lesson :)
Thank you for the tips, sincerely very helpful. I wish I would have watched before taking 6 1/2 hours and a twelve pack to change two tires last night. My consolation was that it was successful with no injuries or damages. Lucky me. Bad side I was cursing and may go to hell for some of the things I said. I feel confident I can try again without the risk of crying in front of my kids. Thank you for helping keep me from sizzling forever in the lake of fire.
+Darrin Jones Haha it can be very frustrating! Next time it'll be much easier I promise. Thanks for watching the video!
