I praise your lovely wife's diplomacy. My beautiful bride of 40+ years shares much of the same viewpoint. Ain't we blessed to be married to such incredible, patient and thoughtful women? Great video, Alex. Thinking Mrs. Nunes could start a trend. Like to hear from Mrs. McBrick, Mrs. Sum (Small Brick City) etc. Thanks Alex and Mrs. Nunes! You guys made my day!
This is an incredible video Alex. Congratulations to both of you for the strength of your marriage. Similarly, my wife often rolls her eyes at me, but she has now referred to the room that my Lego stuff is in as the Lego room (took me a year of hard work to get her to do that 😁) and has now started buying small sets as I get ready to start putting a city together. She’s perched a couple of vehicles, including a garbage truck because, and I quote her, “Every city has to have a garbage truck”. It’s made this so much more fun that she’s behind me, even though she doesn’t always admit it. But she’ll be the first to show people the room. Anyway, this video made me realize how much I appreciate her support and I’m going to have to tell her so.
I love that Mindy enjoys Alexs' time in the basement away from her. LOL! Mindy should do a channel about gardening/plants. That's another hobby of mine.
To the wife, trust me every is amazed by your husbands collection, and builds. He has the Dream section to build. It is so awesome you support this hobby because it is an amazing one. I have around 20k invested in LEGO and have been married 6 years my wife understands you, sarcastic in all the same ways I love it. You both have a great marriage. So awesome. I am the same way with LEGO, I get sad when I can’t get a nice set on sell or it retires before I can afford it.
First like glad to be here brother you are a lucky man with such a supportive wife. Been married 6 years and my wife supports me as well. Glad you have taken it to the next level. My wife doesn’t really care for LEGO either but supports my hobby.
Gosh i love her hair style, and she is a real riot and a crack up. What an AFOL wife she is, and knowledgeable to boot. tick tick and tick. Great episode man. love it
Alex, amazing video, great idea interviewing your wife. I watched it and then insisted to my wife she watch it with me to know she’s not alone 😂. If there is one thing we AFOLS appreciate more than awesome LEGO sets it’s our amazing, loving, and majority of the time supportive wives. Touché for giving her a platform and asking fun / tough questions. If your wife ever needs to vent to another AFOL wife I will happily buy a couple bottles of wine and coordinate a therapy session for them and promise to bring a LEGO set or two for us. 😆
Loved this video. In my house I'm the collector with my boys and my husband tolerates the collection. We also have a room dedicated to Lego display and building Lego. My husband says his coworker wives collect shoes, clothes, or purses so he's fine with me collecting Lego with the kids as it's something we enjoy together as a family. 😁
Why doesn't he work on rediscovering his inner child? Then it really will be a whole of family activity. Don't delay, kids grow up and other things take up their time and the moment is lost.
Great video, it is nice to hear the "other side" of the hobby from time to time. I am also lucky to be blessed with a wife who understand the hobby, in fact it was her that encouraged me to buy the new UCS Millennium Falcon. She knew I wanted it deep down, but that I daid I didn't because of the price, so she came up with a plan so I could afford it.
I just watched this interview with my wife 🥰🥰🥰... it is always a grateful feeling knowing that your spouse/ partner is supportive and give blessing to your hobby (especially since it’s Lego) 💖
When you were dating your wife and she saw you had a big box delivered to your house and she asked what you ordered, out of desperation, you probably quickly shouted, "TOOLS!! It's uh, a bunch of tools and all kinds of other manly stuff." Then she was like, "But why does it feel so light? It doesn't seem to make a lot of noise like metal either when it's shaken." Then you responded, "It's those new soft tools....those new soft tools that make a different sound. They only sell 'em at Sears--very hard to find. That's what it is. That's why I had to order it."
Wow, ty Alex and your wife for doing this, it was so wonderful in getting to know Mindy better, she is so funny and supportive of your hobby, I am definitely hoping to see more of her in the future, Bless to both of you!
@@alexnunes TY Alex, would love for her to talk about her profession as a Nurse and what that is like and what Lego set you DON'T own that she really likes. Food for thought.
I got this video suggested by CZcams when watching Bricksie's latest video around the time this video was released and I just loved the city in the background (as well as the Q&A). I don't have a girl friend currently, but when I do I hope she is as supportive as your wife. So after seeing this video I started watching all your video's since the beginning of the channel over the last few weeks as I was interested in how Mindyopolis evolved through time. So I've finally come full circle again and rewatched this video getting the references such as the dust storm of 2015. So I've seen it go from Xanderburg (if I remember correctly) to the city of Mindyopolis that it is today. From the massive multistory garage to the racetrack, I've seen it all and I've enjoyed it very much, so thank you for videos. =D
What a great idea for a video, so good to see. The last lady I dated wanted me to convert part of my Lego room into an ensuite, she didn't understand at all :) Keep up the great videos and Mindy enjoy that garden, (I sure a lot of people would watch a gardening video too).
In our family the women are the big Lego fans. I'm a TFOL and my mom's an AFOL. My dad appreciates it from afar. I like your wife! I'm glad you survived the dust storm of 2015. Haha. Thumbs up for Legos families. Frutz wuz here.
Need an all grey Mindy minifigure statue in the city 👍 you guys are lovely I hope my future partner is as as cool as your wife 👌 take care and keep the vids coming ✌️
This video showed up in my recommended video just now and I had to watch. My wife and I have only been married a little over 2 months, but we've been a couple for just over 14 years. She and I are both good and bad when it comes to each other's hobbies...we're both supportive enablers. She's partially responsible for getting me back into LEGO as an adult. When the Monster Fighter sets came out in 2012, we were both excited being Universal Monster fans...and I go them all and was hooked, then moved quickly into Star Wars..and then a bit of everything. In fairness, I had some interest before because my brother had started getting some Architecture sets and I was really impressed how far LEGO had come since I was a kid. Now I'm all in. I haven't done as much custom stuff yet, but I'd like to do more for sure. I've acquired so many sets, both new and used. I've been blessed to have some great thrift stores around me as a source of good used deals. Anyway, not to ramble on too much...but when I saw the title of your video, I had to watch haha. I'll send her the link too. I've subscribed and look forward to checking out more of your videos.
My girlfriend (future wife) also supports my Afolness and all my interests and crafts too. I'm so lucky and blessed for having her, and oh so you are Alex for having Mindy :)
It’s was nice to meet Mrs Nunes and know that she is very supportive. My wife is supportive of my collection too. In fact all of our married life I have collected many things and she has often said that whilst I’m happy doing my hobbies she knows where I am and not wasting the money down the pub. I’m lucky not to have a mortgage anymore and have even more freedom to spend now.
Alex...you have a very beautiful and funny wife...you are a very lucky man...and I think a garden youtube would be a great idea...and she is a nurse...AWESOME...❤☘❤
I can relate to the Lego dust storm event of 2015. When I was away on holiday we had a stonemason come to rebulid the chimney; except I didn't know they were coming that week. I had a row of 7 or 8 Lego modulars on a table in the room below. They did make an attempt to cover everything with dust sheets but the sheet over the Lego had half slipped off. Everything was covered in a layer of dust and grime when I got back. I spent hours cleaning them with wet wipes and running them under the shower. I ran the wet wipes down all the grooves between the studs on every exposed surface, but short of spending days doing this they will never be 100% clean again.
What an awesome video Alex and Mindy! I’m sending this video to my wife as I think she’ll relate so much to what you said Mindy! I think this is a great idea and, perhaps if you don’t mind, I may force...ahem...I meant...nicely ask my wife if she wants to do a Lego video with me...I think you may have started a trend! Soon we’ll see AFOL Spouse support groups and an AFOL Spouse’s Union popping up all over! Haha. Anyway, thanks so much for all the great content over the years and thanks for this great video!
I would love to see other AFOL wives speak about their significant other's hobby. It would be very interesting for sure. Mindy is a good sport. This went much better than I thought it would, lol
Alex, this is truly your better half, I only know you from your lego videos and the lego group you created, she does fit you just perfect. When you had asked Mindy the question about her favorite Lego set and she answered café corner I remember in a previous video when you had reviewed all buildings, cafe corner was your favorite building too. What a coincidence. A very nice video, my wife enjoyed it too.
Great Q&A, awesome to hear from the other side of an AFOL relationship lol. But just for fun if you want a little buzz, take a shot every time she says "just kidding" XD

1) She's awesome; both in her willingness to do this video and her openness about your hobby and how it makes you happy.

3) I think your wife might be surprised at how her gardening hobby could be of interest to other people - there is an audience out there for pretty much everything.

You guys have such a beautiful relationship. My ex supported me on my small collection and bought me my 2015 Millennium Falcon. I hope I find a girlfriend/wife that will support me in my collection of Lego.
Why no Mindy's Garden Channel? My wife will suscribe!
0:00 Get the popcorn. Dirty secrets coming.
1:41 well... that's a keeper.
Lol no seriously, great video. Funny to see the other side of an AFOL household. I can only dream of this shit.
She’s not kidding😂
I can see why you maried her. Good job!
I also have an awesome wife.she supports my hobby and is always bringing me home Lego deals that she finds.its a good club to be in.😁😁😁😁
Tell her we think she’s great!
will do, thanks!
my partner can certainly relate :)
I think deciding on buying lego sets should be a joint decision in a marriage, they are really expensive
Got her conditioned to say “Lego” not “Legos”. 🙌🏼
How do I make my channel great Alex?
I was waiting for her to start crying
Proof that I (a 49yo AFOL) can possibly land another attractive woman who loves me AND my Lego problem.
Your voice sounds a lot like pam from the office.
Mindy has to be the mayor or Prime Ministor or something!
Man, she is really cool. :-)
