    Thank you for sharing this. Despite the good deals there are some disadvantages to have an iPad based keyboard. For example the iPads become useless after few years and at some time the updates and the new updates become unavailable. The other important thing is the audio interface that needs to be decent (with similar costs to the app license). Maybe are you considering in a model of month by month subscription?

      @@elredzona9261 you’d have to buy ableton to use it on windows. Ableton live intro, which is the base model with very limited sounds and interface, costs $99, and the suite edition, which contains everything you’d need, would be $749. Sunday sounds let’s you use both intro and suite, but again, intro is very limited, but it’s cost isn’t as bad. Ableton is a very power hungry platform, so you’d need a good laptop to run with, and you’d have to pay for ableton live + Sunday sounds subscription. I use both ableton for my windows and MainStage for my max and the sunday keys app for my iPad, and I prefer to use it on my apple devices honestly, even though I love windows way more.

    Followed your instructions exactly. Focusrite interface lights flashes then goes off. No audio through Amp. Only way to get it to work was to use headphone jack directly to amp but hardly any volume. Went from iPad headphone Jack to headphone amp, then out to amplifier. Why won’t the Focusrite work?

    Would it be fair to say that you're moving away from using Mainstage (or Ableton Live) and more towards your own iPad (and coming soon Mac) app?

    • @SundaySounds
      @SundaySounds  Před rokem +1

      For our own live performance use-cases, and in terms of what we'd recommend for the vast majority of worship teams, we do think the App is the most compelling option out there, including when compared against Sunday Keys in MainStage and Live formats. The App does things that simply aren't possible in any other software and we think the fact that it's designed just for worship music gives it an incredible edge. That's why we're devoting much of our video efforts to helping teach people what it can do for their worship teams while still also providing lots of teaching content that isn't specific to any one platform.
      However, there may still be compelling reasons for some users to prefer one of Sunday Keys' other formats, especially for users who want more advanced or specific functionality, like time-code or Link automation in Ableton Live, or getting really into different bussing and the like in MainStage.
      We plan to continue to add more advanced functionality to the standalone App over time so even those who want more advanced features are able to choose the App if they would like to do so. For now we plan to continue to offer Sunday Keys in formats where users find them helpful for as long as there's a broad enough user-base to continue doing so. We are keeping tabs on which formats our users are adopting the most to help inform those choices down the line.

      @@SundaySounds Thank you for that response. I have been trying to decide which way to go while waiting for my ipad to be delivered. From what you are saying, just using the app alone rather than as a plugin for MainStage is the better option. It is certainly the easiest option by far. I have a midi keyboard to plug it into but hoping I will be able to use it through my yamaha SX900. Then I don't have to have two keyboard on the platform!

      I tried the printer cable to female/female usb and my iPhone usb to lightening and nothing from my keyboard was registered on my iPad Sunday Keys App. A little disheartening, I thought it would be more plug and play. My keyboard normally runs with a guitar lead to a DI and through Dante to our Yamaha sound desk. So now I’m looking for solutions. Is a midi controller a must have or can I get away without it if I go for the apple adaptor and powered usb hub?

      @SundaySounds  Před rokem

      While it may be possible to operate the Sunday Keys App at the same time as other popular charts/tracks apps focused on live worship music, we cannot specifically confirm that multitasking will work.
      Your experience when multitasking is likely to be influenced by a number of factors, including the specific Apps involved, your iPad’s capabilities, and the specifics of your use case and hardware.
      We always recommend stress-testing any possible combination of software in a non-performance context before taking it to the stage.

    Me: Patiently waiting 10 minutes for the part of the video where you magically squeeze a midi keyboard or controller into the $400 budget... David: "The last thing to do is connect the keyboard YOU ALREADY HAVE AT YOUR CHURCH"... This is a bait and switch for new church plants or those transitioning from acoustic piano to keys. 🤣
    The title of this video should be "how to upgrade your keys rig to Sunday Keys for $400". When I saw the title I thought there might be some recommendation for a dirt cheap keyboard... I was let down. haha... So minimum budget to build this rig is more like $650, because you'd be hard pressed to find a midi controller for under $250 used. You can't build a keyboard rig without a keyboard. Why not also say "use the iPad you already have " and change the budget to $200" LOL
    I already have an iPad... I already have an audio interface, and most of the cables and adapters necessary... the one thing I DON'T have is a compatible keyboard or midi controller. 😂🤣😂🤣
