I bought my GP1 in 2013 with 112000KM on it, now it has 206000KM. I'am the second owner.
Great car on the road and track(Spa/Nürburgring).
We also own the second and third Gen. as JCW's so i can compare, the R53 GP is the most hardcore New Mini of all.
The other Gen.'s are faster but the feeling of the GP with the supercharger is unique.

The miniac that would be amazing. Even if you could do histories of the different special editions. Like the oxford and so forth.

The best looking GP ever made and with minimal gadgets and light weight the drive and sound are amazing.
Mini should never have gone any bigger from the R53 size and the supercharger should come back.

@@TheMINIac I had gp1 9-10l /100km and a jcw coupe 6,7-7.5 /100km but the drive experience of the gp is unique and sound too, he doesn´t like driving under 4000 rpm.

Thank you for this wonderful video! Perhaps MINI will consider the size of the R53 for future models (I can wish, right?)

I read that and it sounds promising.... just hope they don't go all electric.

@@TheMINIac Not many out there for sale also not many were produced in RHD , 450/2000 units went to UK assuming the rest were LHD . Mini also discontinued the retrofit JCW kit on R53 in 2018(fair enough ,it had been 15 years)

The mk3 GP will be available in Australia in 2020 around 68 cars heading your way 👍

If you was to import a mk1 GP from the U.K. you would make money on it when you ever sell it because quite a few people in Australia wanted the MK1 but it wasn’t available so this would sure be a great investment opportunity 😀

I have a 2004 MCS JCW with a stage 2 Dinan Package. I can tell you any R53 with over 200+ hp is a hoot to drive.

Jon smith I also had the gp2 and just sold it because it was hard work maintaining two cars but to be honest the gp2 was awesome and more usable as an everyday car but not the same character as the gp1 due to the supercharger whine on the gp1 🤨 if you are after a cracking Gp1 I know of one with only 25000 miles and was serviced meticulously by the owner . The gp2 I just sold only had 10500 miles on it and was mint I sold it to Bespoke motors in Stockton on tees and it goes on sale today at 20995 it’s a cracking car👍

Jon smith if you do buy it you will get a cracking car I really looked after it and always changed the oil+filter between services as this is key 👍
