I made jars of sauce like this with my Italian cousins in NY after my zia passed away. It’s a lot of work and took all day but a lot of fun. It’s typically done in September when the tomatoes are ripe. We finished with 158 jars. Nonna is a jewel. God bless her and protect her. 🍅🥫🍅🥫🍅🥫🍅

My grandfather came from Italy in 1911. My father (1919) was one of 11 kids ( a WWII veteran & hero). I was born in '65, and when I was 13 he taught me how to make the sauce and meatballs. I've shared the secret with my kids and a select few others. I've made a batch tonight and the house smells AMAZING! Family tradition is so important. Share every story with the younger generation to keep our grandparents alive, always.
I had to reply because how right you are....my mamma made best cabbage rolls and borscht..I took for granted that I could just ask her for some or bring the supplies...she loved to make for us..but she's gone now recepie in hand.....

I’ve watched a couple of her vids before and some food I wanna try. I love her energy in this one, pasta sauce is a must in the Italian home, and she made it with a sparkle in her eye. Her grandson is doing a great job showcasing her homemade foods etc and the love he expresses for Nonna is heard throughout each video
I miss my Nonna so much. She and Pappas adopted me, age 4, my brother age 5, and my sister Angelina age 2. Not to put us in Foster homes and be separated from each other. It was alot of $ and intensive fight for them for a few years. They never gave up on us. They were our true parents. We all made sure to make them proud of us, and they were. They put us all through 12 years of Catholic schooling on top of everything else. We all graduated with high honors every year, don't to this day understand how our papa did it all for us. He was the only one working. The sacrifice that Nonna and Papa made for the 3 of us is astounding. Thank God they both lived to the ages of 96, and papa 94. Nine great grandchildren, 2 great, great grandchildren children that they enjoyed for a short period. God works in mysterious ways and for a reason. Myself, my older brother and my younger sister all went on to college with all Bachelor degrees and ate successful because of their unselfish LOVE. You are so blessed Antonio to have her. So happy to see your true love and respect for Nonna. I love your Nonna as she reminds me of my Nonna. ALL my LOVE and respect to you and her. ❤
