I’m playing this game for the sixth time, which is also the first time I’m playing using headphones. The previous times I played it was on a quiet tv, so this play through was the first time I heard this chanting and it just added another layer of mystery and dread to the Marker for me.
i just recently finished Dead space again but with a headset this time and what a difference it makes. The sound design and the atmosphere was best experienced with the headset
sound makes a huge difference, specially sound quality, most people dont even know what good sound quality is. headphones are ok but a pair of good stereo speakers is the dream. its like changing from 480p to 8k resolution, you hear more details. people buying TV`s and Game Hardware for stupidly high costs but didnt even invest 1000 in good speakers, good speakers hold a lifetime.
@@DubElementMusic I built my sound system around this gaming PC. PC>Emotiva xda-2 balanced preamp/DAC>NAD 208 thx balanced power amp>aDs 910 loudspeakers. Best sounding setup I've ever heard.
*Marker 3A:* -Why are you still sane? You should have smeared your blood on the walls a long time ago! *Isaac:* ~Bro, I didn't understand a single word.
"We are here in death, our Saint is." I plugged that into a cheap latin to english translator when the commentor immediately at the top managed to pick it out. Keep in mind Latin does not have the same grammar we do. So our words are going to be out of order when translated. I can't remember exactly what the order is. I remember the Japanese order just because I took 3 years japanese in highschool (and I'm 36 now so like, easily 20 years ago for Japanese 2 or 3, which I failed, no really, i passed year one, did poorly year two and failed year three. And found myself wishing I'd learned another language in elementary school when it didn't require as much effort.)
I never noticed the chanting until I played the remake, then I wondered if they put it in the original. Man I feel stupid. I've beaten the original at least 4 times and never noticed.
Somehow the chanting in Latin and a drawings on the walls in ds 2 of some sort of demon something is starting to fit in with each I just need more proof
This is disturbing, but it's Dead Space, so that's normal
"Sumus hic in morte, noster sanctus est." "We are here in death, our saint is."
Normal is not the right word in horror things.
@@mongeau98 I thought it said god at the end
Dead space has so much details that people dont even notice
All the times I played that game over the years I never noticed that chanting.

I translated it. It meant
we are here in death, he is our saint

The chanting reminds me of The Mummy movie where Jonathan says “imoteb” and pretends he dead like them 😂😂

God, the details they put into these games are terrifying 😨😨😨
I hope they put this in remake.
Oh im sure itll be even better
real
They did not. It just fuzzes the screen and makes the Marker signal noise.
@@themercilessss that's because you're standing too close. You have stand just outside the range where it starts to make the camera fuzzy

It kinda sounds like "Soon we'll see the way, push (or March) us onto death."

"Deliver unto us death"
"Our saint is here"
"To deliver unto us death"
Latin doesn't strictly follow an order for words though, especially in poetry and prayers

i only noticed this chanting when i was at the colony in chapter 12, took me 5 years to actually hear it. weird.

has anyone ever played this in reverse?
Did they include this in the remake?
Yes

Is this from Dead Space 3? I've played 1 and 2 and I don't remember this 🤔
It's from Dead Space 1. You have to be within several feet of the marker in order to hear the chanting coming from it.
