Oh, now your getting into the good stuff. However, *Renegade* is a rocker. Always a fan favorite. It's a fun track in any Styx concert, because the audience really gets into it. Definitely have to do more Styx...💜🎶

@@alexsaucedo8032 ~ Oh now I'm really jealous...😁😄😄 No, just kidding. The closest I've ever came to any of them, is a typed, but signed letter I received from Tommy Shaw back in the summer of 1984, which I still have today. As for concerts, I've seen them 3 times in Virginia, and 3 times in Maryland. The closest seats I had was in 1996, at Merriweather Post Pavilion, in Columbia, Maryland, a second row seat. Kansas opened up for them at that concert. Out of those 6 times, the best one for me, was during a Virginia show, in 2001. Billy Squire was the opening act, then Bad Company, w/Paul Rogers, and finally Styx. We were in row 15, I believe. Maybe closer. I'd have to look at the ticket stub. Had beer spilled on me by a woman next to me at that concert but I didn't care. Had an absolute fabulous time...🎶🎸🙂
Every-time I hear this song I thank of Supernatural season 2 episode 2 Nightshifter when Dean and, Sam escape the bank and Supernatural has the best songs.
Great song choice. Tommy Shaw is an amazing vocalist. You should check out the group Damn Yankees. Shaw teams up with Ted Nugent and Jack Blades from Night Ranger. Check out High Enough, Come Again. Coming of Age, and Where You Goin' Now. All are worthy of a reaction video. =)
I still love my Styx! They still tour and even released a newer Mars Mission themed Album in June 2017 when SpaceX decided to work on going to Mars. It is a type of album where it is best to listen in order since it tells the story Styx came out with, if you want full understanding of album "The Mission". One good sample though, of their modern style, is the 3rd track called "Hundred Million Miles from Home"
@Dahoss I miss DeYoung's voice, so I listen to his ballads with him singing them, but still love the band without him. As long as Tommy is singing most of the songs, (and was a key composer from the day he joined the group, I am very happy.)
Styx was my first concert in '79. I was 13. Have been a fan since '77 when I discovered The Grand Illusion album. Tommy Shaw joined in late '75. Styx' first album came out in '72. Must reacts are Suite Madam Blue (before Tommy) and Man in the Wilderness. A Tommy Shaw song from '77.
This song was on the first lp I ever bought.it was some kind of greatest hits thing, and I got it at a garage sale with like 10 cents of my allowance.thanx for this, I loved it.
Great song and great reaction. I love songs like this that are left to the listeners interpretation. It is my belief that great songs inspire thoughtful reactions.
I first saw Styx on May 8, 1976 at the Lewiston Youth Center in Lewiston, Maine. I had never heard of them as they were a replacement back up band (opening for Uriah Heep). On the ticket, the backup band was listed as "Skyhooks", a band from Australia. Well, Styx was great, Tommy Shaw was flying all over the stage, Dennis Deyoung kicked ass on vocals, they were great. Of course now, we know what happened after that. Still, Uriah Heep was better, in my opinion, but that's who I went to see. Great concert all around.
I've always been a huge James Young fan and very often forget to mention what an absolute badass Tommy Shaw is as well and give him his dues! Two top-tier rock and roll guitarists!
I'll never forget when the U.S. invaded Panama, and cornered Noriaga in the Vatican Embassy, and blasted this song over loud speakers. It must of horrified him lol.
Look up their concert with CYO Cleveland youth orchestra. I've taken my daughter to every concert and friends with a few of the members (the world series was rough when it was Chicago and Cleveland)
Fantastic concert. The CYO kids really rocked it out in 2006 and enjoyed playing with Styx! Tommy, by himself, went back again and sang with them in 2016 under the concert name "Sing For The Day!"
@@ladykoh4678 I know - I'm a Cleveland chick. Tommy still shows up every now and then. He's done a lot for Liza and the kids. My daughter was almost a part of CYO but was accepted into Baldwin Wallace at 15 and they worked around her school schedule. That's how we came across some of the guys. Moving to Florida soon so losing my concert sidekick 😔 she married and moved to that state up north to the West 😉
Could you please react to a STYX song called SHOW ME THE WAY? Its maybe one of the most beautiful ballads about asking for God's help in understanding this crazy world we live in. Thanks India.
A heavier more uptempo take on Led Zeppelins gallows pole. If you listen to the lyrics of the two songs you can't help thinking the Zeppelin song inspired this one. Still an excellent song and one of my favorites by Styx. Love to hear The Grand Illusion, Blue Collar Man or Lady next. Funny story about Styx for me. I always liked them but what made me love them was that their 3 biggest albums, The Grand Illusion, Pieces of 8 and Cornerstone came out at the end of the disco era one after another. The only non-disco songs the girls my friends and I dated were by Styx. I must have seen them 5 or 6 times in a 3 year period because of that. LOL. f
Fooling Yourself (Angy Young Man) is the next Styx song to do...want uplifting and positive music? Then this is the song you want to listen to / react to next.
ah ha, I think Tommy Shaw could have had William Bonnie on his mind when writing the lyrics, and so when created my version of Renegade, my finished video includes/follows Billy the Kid's fate
I'm always amazed with her ability to decipher lyrics. I've always been a person who could care less what a song was about, and only cared if it sounded cool. Just too much work to figure out what they're saying exactly, and it distracts me from getting into the flow of the music. But now with her influence I'll try to pay better attention to what a song's actually about.
