Hi Rob'ert, just assembled one of these , mine is exactly the same. thought I had a fault but not so, It does not sound at all like a steam engine whistle. I'll think I will ask for a refund.
I have just built one, switched on and I was disappointed . Mine is only a clicking sound, so I was impressed when I heard yours. Sounds a darned sight more like steam loco than mine. Then switched battery, and got a better sound. So is this a supply voltage / current sensitive circuit?????

Paid a dollar for one at an estate sale today. Won't bother to build, just add the components to my parts drawer for something else. Thanks.

Thanks for saving me some money, it's a joke and as for the whistle not sure what it sound of.

Buy an allan bond unit there great but you need a decent vistron speaker in a box and these are controlled by the tx
