It is surprising that Nick or AD didn't appoint new Alabama coach before Nick Retired. Nick leaving Alabama without new Coach is going to cause big churn in players and drop in the class. If Nick had a plan to leave atleast they could have started the search and hired new coach before announcing retirement.
Saban, being referred to as the GOAT, is laughable. 25 plus 5 star players could be coached by Jim Zorn, and the results would be the same. After getting out coached and demolished by an actual coach (Harbaugh) and a team with only two 5 star players, he tucked tail and ran because he knew that the new landscape of college football would be his downfall. NIL and Harbaugh proved to him that he would no longer be able to stack the most talented players and simply let them do what they do. He would have to be a real coach, which the little coward was afraid of. The level playing field equals an average Saban. Which he's been all along... average
Bama is going to wind up with Tommy Rees because all these coaches have the same agent and their using the vacancy for a raise and not a competitive change. they're all getting a raise where they are and nobody is interested in the Bama job
