Chinking a log home with old-school cement based mortar

  • Had a few questions on the chinking for my log home. Rather than using a commercial product I decided to use the traditional cement based mix. I'm using Rockwool insulation to fill the gaps with stucco lath on top of that to allow the chinking to stick, so far it's turning out really nice.

    You know what's funny? How can you tell a LHBA video from just about every other video ......... look the logs are round! Lol

    I am curious how is your cement chinking holding up? I am getting ready to re-chink my 1980 house. The old cement is all falling apart. I am not sure if I should pull all the lath out and replace with backer rods and use Perma Chink or not. Any idea?
