June is the month for shad fishing! (2024/06/23)

Fishing shad is so much fun!
We waited until toward the end of the season to catch more female fish. Sure enough, I kept five and all were female (I wasn't selective- I basically kept first five fish I caught.)
I kept casting and had about total fifteen hits (released remainders).
The key for success is "slow but steady retrieval until the line drifts to 45 degree angle". It is when you are about to start reeling in for the next cast, it bites. It is close to "snag zone" but be brave as catching fish is the best way to avoid snagging!
今年は釣りのシーズンが終わりに近づくまで待って、メス狙いで釣ることにしました。運良く、お持ち帰りの5匹の魚はすべてメスでした（特に選んだわけではなく、最初に釣れた5匹をそのままキープしました）。
その後もキャスティングを続け、合計で15回ほどのアタリがありました（残りはリリース）。
コツは「ゆっくりと安定したリトリーブで、ラインが45度の角度に流れるまで続けること」。大抵、次のキャストのためにリールを巻き始める頃にバイトがきます。これは「根掛かりゾーン」に近いですが、勇気を出して釣り続けることが根掛かりを避ける最良の方法ですね。
