This was such an awesome adventure, glad you guys got to see my home country. I'm not too surprised you guys didnt partake in all the water activities, sometimes I just wanna kick back and relax. There are times when being at peace in some quiet and relaxation is just as fun as going out and goofing about, both are fun to me. Personally, I liked the epic view from the boat, and would have enjoyed just soaking it all in. Shelby did a great job on the spring roll, it put a smile on my face to see her getting a good laugh out of it and made a little performance out of the ordeal. She was keeping the filling as tight as possible as she was putting it together and that's how you get one that's nice and taught, and wont rip through the rice noodle wrapper. Looks like you guys enjoyed yourselves, and while it was pricey, it doesn't hurt to splurge for something like this where you'll do it once in your lifetime, but definitely not an absolute necessity for everyone to spend this much. Once again, thanks for sharing the adventure, I'll make sure to watch the rest of your Vietnam trip.
You do realise that North Face clothing is actually made in Vietnam as well as Adidas' Nike, Muzuno, Brooks, Salomon and many more. Last time I was in Ha Long bay was 10 years ago, still looks good, soo should have done the Kayaking its a blast going through caves and being down on the water looking up and out are amazing you feel very, very small.
loved the video. I was on the ambassador cruise back in January. Ha Long Bay is beautiful. If you are going to Vietnam, it is a must see once in a lifetime.

"Hello Vietnam"..the one song that plays in literally every restaurant, convenience store and grocery store in Vietnam. You can't escape it. 😂 We did a single day cruise (not overnight) back in the day, and it was $30 a person. Included a bunch of activities as well, like kayaking and visiting a floating village. Included food as well. Not nearly as classy, of course. I don't know if I could justify the $1150 knowing the cheap option experience ends up being pretty similar, but it definitely makes for a cool video, and a memorable birthday! And Chase is classy AF. Just DUNKIN' that roll in pâté. 😂
Ahhh we thought we were crazy. It really does play everywherrrreee 😂 We thought about doing the single day or 1 day, but with all our luggage we decided to go longer. It sounds like the same activities though which is great you still get to do most if not all of them! ☺️ We probably wouldn’t do that one again, it was great to experience for a birthday and we felt and like kings haha! But I’m sure there is also really nice cheaper cruises. Chase always coming in clutch with all things “fancy” 😂🫢❤️
Also, interesting to note the song "Hello Vietnam" is played everywhere, but, apparently, no one listens to the lyrics. Vietnamese rarely, if ever, speak of the "American war," and the song is about a woman's lament that she has no memory of having lived in Vietnam as she'd fled the country as an infant.
Happy belated birthday, Shelbs! I love the towel birthday cake they did for you. When you get spring rolls in Vietnam, they skimp on the meat, but when we make it at home, we load it up as it's customized for whoever is making it. :) I hear the excursion where you bike to the village is really cool, so you shouldn't have missed that.

Love this deck with view. Her rowboat packed. 4 beers for Chase and champagne for both. Sounds like Sheld is wearing flip flops. I laughed out loud seeing Shelb try and open the gym doors. Great to see the hole ship. I would be doing cannonballs off the ship into the water and taking a midnight swim under the stars. Agreed Chase outstanding backdrop. Delicious spring rolls. If you want a High Octane drinks, specially on a ship, a tip will get it there. Absolutely loved Shelb reaction taking a 1ST bite of the spring roll she made. Agreed 1 more hour for more drinks. 2ND hand made spring roll looked packed and so yum yum. YES keep drinking. I am so very sad Day 1 is over. Thanks Drew it was so exciting to do something new to us for the very first time. The food was incredible (oysters being the best!!) and the decorations they did in the room were so thoughtful. We even got a room update the next day for my birthday and that view was spectacular 😍 overall we had such a great time and it was very memorable. The spring rolls were fantastic because we got to add as much meat as we wanted lol! We are so happy you enjoyed the cruise with us. Many more adventures to come though. ❤️❤️
Cool video but, please, from someone in Belfast can I ask you to NEVER stir an Irish Coffee! It’s supposed to look like - and be drunk like- a Guinness. Maybe the cream was a little thick but you need the cold cream and hot coffee at the same time. Happy journeying. 😊
Did a 3D/2N Halong/Lan Ha Bay cruise in November '22. $770 for a couple. A very bad deal! First of all, it's overcrowded. We were accompanied everywhere by 17/18 other similarly sized vessels. Most likely due to the oppressive afternoon heat, everyone does activities at the same time each day, meaning 100's of people are kayaking about, visiting the city or the tiny beach. About as relaxing as rush hour traffic on a Los Angeles freeway. Finally, "cruise?" A misnomer. Ships only move to drop off or pick up passengers. I'd estimate we were actually underway for less than 30 minutes during the 3D voyage. One spends most of one's time swinging at anchor looking at the same scenery. By all means, see Halong or Lan Ha, but save hundreds and take a day cruise. You won't be missing a thing. If interested in a more genuine, less frantic experience, check out the Bai Tu Bay cruisers.

Not rich just a splurge, which we have never done something this pricy. ☺️ To be honest we enjoy seafood in Canada more. Maybe because we are used to it? The texture of seafood in Southeast Asia can sometimes be more firm and has more of a grainy texture if that makes sense lol! But still delish! Haha thank you so much. Cheers 🥰
Me too I prefer Canadian lobsters , especially from Quebec ( Ile de la Madeleine and Gaspesie ) , New Brunswick and Nova Scotia . They are also less expensive . I am planning to go there this Summer . Do you speak French too ?

Great video! I went on a cruise there and paid $136 per person last year. It was just as nice as that one, with a better room actually and all the same amenities and activities. It was rec. to us by our hotel. I guess we lucked out. I think you over paid...sorry to say.
Looks like a pricey cruise considering drinks are extra also….also I could do without all the luxury and activities….just there to take in the view…but it’s your birthday, you deserve it 😊

Great video! I went on a cruise there and paid $136 per person last year. It was just as nice as that one, with a better room actually and all the same amenities and activities. It was rec. to us by our hotel. I guess we lucked out. I think you over paid...sorry to say.

Yes it was sadly! I think there are cheaper just as good options. We wanted to see what it was like and we mostly just relaxed without doing the activities. ☺️ thank you!! Xx
