While these may be slightly advanced tips, these are the most important ones I could think of to help you make big progress on your journey playing HSR! - Hry
Gotta agree about grinding characters though... The game punishes you hard if you try raising all of your characters.

Yeah my 16/23 raised units hurts alot on my f2p, in hindsight I would've only raised 10-12 max
This was really a good overhaul for upcoming players. One tip I could give is to add high level players (strangers or friends doesn't matter) on your account so you could use their support unit on your farming runs. At early levels, their support unit literally one shots bosses saving you a lot of time on your runs.
That’s probably why Mtashed mentioned you should do that in the video.

This one guy on NA call Zeagand gets like 12000k from me regularly cause I use his blade
And don't worry about adding them, we like to add lower levels because they use our characters often (and gives us rewards) 😊

Here's my important tip: if you like a character, please build and use them. Every character can be used well, and I say this as someone who uses characters like Hook, Herta and Arlan who are all considered low tier and even bottom tier characters. If you like a character, you should build them because you can absolutely find people who have also built them, can give you pointers on how to make them work, and it's gonna make you a lot happier than building the characters you're "supposed to" build
I would say knowledge is power is the crutch here, it takes deliberate planning and even some luck to make them good, constellation copies help a lot, and without those copies, it's an uphill battle still not too far from genshin
@@haroldbaluyottan Pretty much, yes. For me I look at tier lists less as "how powerful is X character?" and more like "how many hoops do I need to jump through to get X to work?" This is why I consider Arlan the worst character in the game. He's strong as heck and I enjoy using him, but you really need to know what you're doing and have the right team/LC. No other character feels as strict as him, but I do use him whenever I need lightning damage in MoC
What's your team for arlan? I puled for E6 for him, but he feels very mid :(
You better REALLY like that character tho. Because investing your materials into mid characters will thin you out.

One thing to remember when building tingyun is that too much attack on her is useless because she is so squishy and gets targeted all the time so def or hp stats on her is a must
I built her with er rope, speed boots, attk body and hp orb (fleet/musketeer sets) and she works great. Her attk bonus threshold depends not only on her attk, but also on your main dps base attk and you hit that limit earlier than what she can give from her attk stat.. so yes you don't need that much attk and it's better to max out main dps base stats(including giving them a 5* lc if possible) and her skill first to improve that threshold

I just started this game 3 days ago and man im loving the characters way more than Genshin, the snappy UI, the generous primogems they're giving out for free, the fact that i can just buy a 5 star weapon off the shop just at some point by making wishes is POG! i can also pick a standard 5 star character when i reach 300 wishes etc..
This game is great, best thing about it is it has MUCH less dialogue bloat than Genshin and i can skip it much faster thanks to their smooth UI, i got Carla off the departure banner and E4 pela from the current pink fox chick banner, game has been a blast! if anyone is burned out by Genshin i highly recommend yall play this game.

Currently at Trailblaze Level 68, and I can confirm that this is all great and useful information for new players.
My biggest tip is that sometimes you need to take the game slowly in order to grind up some materials or levels. It's better to slow down and power up, wait for your trailblaze power to come back for 3-4 or more days and just level up your characters. Just be patient and get stronger or you'll probably regret it when all the enemies take a looong time to kill.
Yes, absolutely. As tempting as it is to immediately do the "Equilibrium World Tier Up" quest for better rewards. Better chill and max your characters for 2-3 days after unlocking the Quest, cause If you Up your World Tier without maxing chars lvls and lightcones traces etc the enemies get tanky as fuck and way Higher lvl than urs.

@@Toastyz27 Yea im sorry i have a rather newish Account and Not spending € so my only DPS is from Standard Banner and f2p Units. I have No OP chars that wipe out enemies who are 8 Levels above me instead of 2 Levels beneath me, because i increased World Tier Level. They get tanky and beefy af.

The best characters to invest in especially for new players are Asta, Pela, Tingyun, and Natasha. They'll carry you so far until you get better units.
I still use all of those including Natasha and have been clearing MoC 10 without issues for a while now. You really don't need the premium upgrades, especially if you don't like them in the first place.
@@SCRKT007 Agreed. I haven't been able to clear moc10 but all 4 of those characters add tremendous value to clear the content. I still use Natasha, Tingyun, and Pela.

Downloaded last year on release, but never really played much. Just picking HSR for real lately and this video is a godsend. Watches you during the first year or two of Genshin's release and glad you're doing vids of HSR now.

trace farming will be the most that takes time and resources. Remember to level only those that are useful. A good stopping point is level 6 for general skills, and level 8 for crucial ones on your DPS

As someone who just started a few weeks ago, this is really helpful. All other guides I see are 4 months ago😅
Tip: build up a strong support first, push them as far as you can, keep them upgraded with the best you got, and slot them into your profile top slot as support.
This will generate a consistent trickle of credits per day as other people look for a 4th ringer for their team and they come across your max level and geared Bronya, Ting Yun, Asta, whoever. Showcase your best, because people pick the best, and you will get anywhere from 2k to 10k per day-ish. That adds up to a lot of credits over time, which is a huge help for late game growth.
Even as a day one player, I enjoyed this video very much. Also learned about different things I could’ve done by now. Thank you mr Mtashed.

Disclaimer: a lot of characters dont really care/benefit from Vonwacq (ERR set). It does not give enough ERR to make a difference in how fast you get your ult for most characters. Get ERR ropes because they are insanely rare, but don’t focus only on that, fleet of the ageless and broken keel are much better options for a LOT of characters.

I wished I watched this when I started the game. I thought I needed one or two of every element and now I am struggling with passing content and having enough resources since I am spread too thin. I'm definitely going to try and find a main team and stick with it throughout instead so I can actually complete the story. Thanks for the video! It's really helpful since I am trying to jump back into the game after leaving at 1.2 update with lvl 40 characters, haha.

My humble corrections from a guy with two accounts who beat MoC10 in two months on the new account with 20 bucks into BP/MP:
1. Departure warp is worth the 40 pulls, I got literally 3 5 stars out of it on my alt and I have friends who got multiple, and even if you only get the one you won't die for having a bit less pulls on standard versus the possibility at a discounted rate of more resources to get your started. So that advice is the equivalent of hampering yourself for some copium "savings"
2. Erudition is a cracked class if you know where to look, QQ powercreeps seele with eidolons, serval is cracked and has your back for both the early and late game if you want to go the mile and OUR GENERAL works so well it's not even funny and mine does more single target than either of his seeles probably ever will fullstop, Argenti is probably going to be a good pickup if you got nothing to deal with the excess physical in the game. Also Himeko > Yanqing deadass to the point my friend has Silver Wolf, Pela and Gepard just for him and the carry is actually his E0S0 Silver Wolf instead of his Yanqing. It's just THAT sad.
3. I used 50 jades for 60 tp a day, no more, no less until I cleared MoC and then I stopped because I PERSONALLY care for progress and I believe the faster you clear MoC10 the faster you make those jades back and start cashing in from there onwards as an investment, and I still have Kafka with her sig, Fu Xuan with her sig, Himeko, Bailu and I can keep going, my account is very lucky and you have every right to never touch this, but don't mistake of blaming that as the reason for your fuck ups like trying to back to back pull with no resources whatsoever from Dan Heng to Fu Xuan and acting like you got "cursed". There's a large difference between making stupid choices with how you use your resources and picking your battles.
I picked the game back up after leaving for a couple weeks almost a month and i've been taking it slow, just farming my units and collecting chests and it's been really fun seeing my Blade and Jingliu E1 just destroy things with the help of Bronya
i'm LVl 45 and I have so many thing to do and the game has been way more fun now than it was before when I started, these advices were a godsend since I was kind of lost on what to do besides farming materials and clearing areas
Dont rush through the companion missions just for the trailblaze exp, those are 1 time quests that expand usually quite a bit on a character and is almost always a cool experience but its a big shame if u just skip thru it for trailblaze exp
Yeah if you like story you should pay attention. That way you aren't saying HUH? To something an NPC or one of your companions says a quest or two later lol
That has nothing to do with player progression, just your personal bias.
Yeah.. any voice acted quest is important quest .. make sure to enjoy them and not skip or you might miss on important details of the story

My biggest tip is not focusing your DPS too much 80% of content in this game Is about can you out live your Enemy. Which means you can go at 2 Mindset The best offence is the best defence Or just turtle up. In the Early game since you can't outscale the DPS as fast I would recommend Turtle up more So basically run a tank and healer Everywhere. It doesn't matter if you kill the enemy in 5 More cycles Since unless it's MOC that really Isn't any sentive to go fast. (Note that These are the situations where the cleanses are best. In offence Strategy So when you re only running one Defensive option You much prefer to face tank debuffs to murder the enemy faster because of the squishness of your team)
Just started this game today, still have only the main character and the first 2 characters so still super early on at the minute but loving it so far, need to decide what my team will be at some point though and hope my luck is with me for pulls

There is one mistake, don't use self modeling resin for the vonwaq set, almost no one uses that set, it's only good in very specific situations, so much so that you need to know exactly what you are doing.
Self-modeling resin, as far as I've heard, is better to be saved and later used when you are building your teams for the end game, its important to know that there are certain main stats that are rarer than others, mainly ERR in ropes, speed in boots, and crit rate/crit damage in bodies, so for example, let's say you have a tingyun, you're building her with the hacker space 4 set and the broken keel 2 piece, and let's say, no matter how many runs you do, you can't get a speed boots, or an energy regeneration link rope, in this case you could use a self modeling resin, use them in characters whose sub stats arent the most important thing, what I have noticed is that its better to use them on supports, for exmaple, I used one for my Jing yuan and I dont even use that piece because it didnt get good offensive sub stats , so that was a waste but then I used 3 of them on ERR pieces for ting yun, asta and pela, they dont care much about offensive stats

Best tip is to not pull for eidolons and lightcones. Save pulls to guarantee a character you want so you don't end up making a new account when you lose a 50/50

Impulsive pull = bad
Calculated pull = good
But what if u get lucky like me who got E3 lunae and E1 bronya in less than 180 roll

Also do a vid a f2p summon chances over time what can a new player realistically look forward to for summons? I play a lot DBZ Dokkan battle, and tbh that game just throws Summon items (Dragon stones) at you constantly. Epic 7 was ok... Genshin from what I remember was kinda stingy. So on and so forth.
What is the best outlook for free summon chances? as a new player I have no idea how common summon tickets/stones/whatever is over time?

I would say, the best lightcone to prioritize if you don't have it, is Gepard's lightcone. It works amazingly well on Fire MC. It makes Fire MC very skill point efficient, because of the extra taunt and defense.
Bronya'a lightcone, is great but is more situational as you have to speed tune around it if you don't have Bronya.
Clara's lightcone is really good on Clara, but kinda mid on any other destruction unit.
Hi everyone, one thing not mentioned that I think is important is to value your interest in a character over the meta viability of the character. I have way more fun playing with the characters that I think are cool then if I force myself to save for meta.
Ever thought of people who play that enjoy chasing the Meta?
What do you think makes a character cool /piques your interest in a character ?. Good and comfy playstyle, good animations, waifu/husbandos? Most characters in the game are strong enough to beat the game with enough support but even if you pull for your fav character, you need to ultimately get the right supports for them anyways as it would improve your love for that character .. so you end up as meta slaves anyways ? 😅
(For example, I enjoy playing seele over other dps like blade or kafka so I ended up pulling on silverwolf and fu Xuan banners anyways to have fun with a mono quantum team with her.. I initially had no interest in them , though tbh, I did end up liking both those characters)
@@sabyasachidas7058 Soooo.... you cant put another support with Seele? Another Healer? Another Tank? To be fair: Most content can be totally done with any team, so why dont use the Chars you like? You dont really have to end up as meta slaves, if you dont want to. Its not like your Seele is going to be trash if you throw her in a team with like Yukong, Fire MC and Pela - in some fights this might even be better than mono quantum.
Even End-Game Content can be done with "trash" characters. I am TL 66 now and have a lot of high leveled, well-built characters and thats so so so! valuable for content like MOC, because I can put together any team I like or need for a specific fight, which makes it way easier to clear it.
Meta might be somewhat necessary to clear specific content easily - but its not and will never be the only thing that matters. Any well-built character is a good character and every character has their pros and cons - so, long story short: I totally agree with the initial comment and say play what you want to play, regardless of the meta. If thats your cup of tea though, sure thats also fine.
invest on your support and sustain. saved for Luocha and Fu Xuan, now easily full-star MoC stages with just 4* dps and. now i can start summoning for any dps i want because my supports are all well-built.
one little advice regarding the self modeling resin...
don't use them unless you are really desperate to get that one gear piece you need to finish your build, yes, you can manipulate the main stat, bu you can't manipulate the sub stats rolls, meaning you can get a piece with a good main stat but with dog water sub stats.
It's better than farming for 3+ months and still not getting that last piece.
As long as you use it on much needed rare main stat pieces theres not much point in saving them. Youll still probably get trash substats either way
Thought about playing this game. Its just that Genshin while a great game turned into a job and I didn't want to get sucked into anything like that again. I heard it wasn't like that but I tend to shy away from most live service games nowadays that have no end. It looks like a really fun game though and l've heard mostly good things. I might try it out someday.
As a player with 11 max characters it really is time consuming and inefficient for most players i recommend only farming books and lightcones and trace materials until 60+ and even 65+ purple relics can still be used up till 60-65 and most of the important stats come from levels and traces(took me a whole week for a “god” tier relic i genuinely wished I had spent that time on exp and traces farming)
When i started Genshin i watched Mtashed beginner guide and it was 100% helpful and still i follow it after 3 years and now i do the same for star rail
I started playing a week before fu xuan banner and I grinded nonstop cause I wanted both dan heng and fu xuan and thankfully I did get both (although I lost my 50/50 on fu xuan banner) so now I can finally take a step back and slow down a bit

Bro keeps describing all the aspects of the game I love as "boring" or "time consuming"... Like I love the mini games and story.
stupid tip: use a controller....with a controller you can pause the game in battle so if your next attack triggers the ultimate, you can pause the game before the animation is over and launch the ultimate within your character's turn, so if an enemy is coming next, you can launch your ult before the enemy's turn...the same goes for path of resonance and all that stuff ;)
Another tip: If you absolutely must farm relic domains early on (ie your characters are on life support and you somehow messed up and burned all the 4* relics that you picked up while doing quests) , then there are 2 which provide best value:
1. The musketeer domain which is universally good on all supports and good for most destruction/hunt dpses . You also pick up healer set as byproduct making this highly resin efficient early on
2. The longevous/messenger domain : good universal 2 pc bonuses which all your support characters can use.. very resin efficient
3. The quantum domain if you dont have a 5*main dps and you are like me using The free QQ as main dps as the quantum set is really cracked and the guard set 2pc bonus is universally good on most if not all tanks
Similarly the lightening set ais another good one if you are maining a lightening dps early game
I mean.. you don't even need to equip relics to get through the game, though that tip is good for people who are getting towards the later levels so just prefice your comment with that.

I have 3 light cones 80 and 4 at 70. 2 character 80 3 at 75. 10 characters have their own relics and majority has them their traces level to 8. This game gives more credits and resources. So feel free to uses them. But I recommend leveling up 2 healers 2 tanks . 2 hormony and pela.

If you have enough energy recharge ropes, I would recommend using the self modeling resin on dmg bonus spheres instead, while crit and speed are rare main stats to get it’s rarer to get the right dmg bonus type on the right planar set for a specific character.
You need so many energy ropes.

@@omegakrome3931I can totally see your point but consider this: I think that it just depends on what you need. You could also be lucky and get the right dmg bonus, but you lack crit or speed. In that case, would you still recommend using the smr on the sphere? I personally wouldnt.
But to be perfectly honest, I wouldnt recommend to use it on either. The Self Modeling Resin is the most efficient if used on Supports. They dont really care about Sub-Stats most of the time and to get the one Relic Piece with the right Main-Stat for them can be a hassle. Also Supports are what makes a Team really outstanding, not the DPS. A good and well-built support is so much more valuable than a good and well-built DPS.

I wouldn’t recommend getting the solitary healing/ nihility herta lc, s5 fermata/nihilty moc lc will be better for the dot characters out rn. Only reason you should is if you don’t have a good night sleep well or eyes of the prey and need to build a dot team
I started an F2P about 2 months after the game came out. Just hit 30 stars in MOC. F2P is extremely viable in this game if you go at the game with a plan.
I need help. I just started the game 2 days ago on PS5 and feel like I have had crappy luck lol. My current units are (including ones given for free): Dan Heng/March 7th E1/Asta E1/Phys TB E1/Sampo (just pulled)/Herta E1/Serval. I have done 4 10 wishes on the departure banner and 1 10 wish on Jingliu’s banner. Out of these units who should I build? I have Dan Heng as my DPS at lvl 20/March 7th lvl 12/TB lvl 11/Asta lvl 13 and that’s it. I’m only TB lvl 7. Any tips/advice is greatly appreciated
I suggest to just build what you feel you need.
It’s easy to build at low levels. Just build if you think a character can help. Sometimes I leap frogged a character up some level tiers because I didn’t need them for the content in between.
The most resources I need right now are ones for traces and relics.
Once in a while I hit walls then upgraded relics a bit to improve survivability.
In this last patch, I leveled Hemiko because the boss was summoning loads of minions and her kit is effective for that. She helped my progress in that situation.
Hemiko and Herta are great on bosses that keep summoning loads of enemies. Herta I haven’t touched for a very long time.
March 7, and the fire PC can handle a lot of content defense wise.
The first issue I had was that deer. If you hit a boss, just look for the weakness and I feel aoe ultimates help a lot.
I think you get a free Natasha early too.
Serval is good on a lot of units in belabog. She can handle the robots that summon self destruct units. And in loufu she can kill the big robot guys that summon fish.
In the simulated universe it’s possible to turtle up and pick a damaging path.
@@femmenic The best tip is actually to slow down. I know this can be hard, especially if you like the game and want to play it. The comment above me is quite helpful I think, level up whoever you think will help you the most. If you lack Damage, level up Dan Heng. If you cant get through a lot of enemies try leveling Serval, she provides a lot of Area Damage to all enemies. Asta and March can help you survive and deal more damage. Also, level up your lightcones and consider leveling up your Relics, especially the Gloves and the Head Pieces, since they provide you with a lot of Health and Attack.
Eventually you will get past the thing you are stuck with now and you will see, it will get easier. Once you get Natasha or another Healer, you will be set, trust me. Having a Healer will make your Game so much easier.

The characters you have there are actually quite good and also make a good team. You have good supports and heals, paired with a strong DPS. Build these characters and you will be set for the rest of the game, maybe not the endgame content but everything else is going to be a breeze
Also, clearing out all the worlds every single day. If you can because those give really good rewards over time for upgrading. And not running out of credits.
New players should certainly try and obtain Fu Xuan and Lynx. Keeping your team alive is the challenge early game.
Kinda true, but I wouldnt recommend to pull on a banner just because of that. You will learn to keep them alive and to kill enemies faster than they will kill you and you will get to the point where you get your free Nat. And from this point onwards its even easier to keep your team alive. Pulling for Fu Xuan and Lynx might make it easier, but its not very necessary tbh.

oh no, Mtashed is team Natasha.... anyway, you can also talk to pompom ~3-4 times per day (give some hours of interval in between), he'll give you easy unmarked quest that gave decent materials but no TL exp.
Another tip is to raise level 1 characters to level 20 and ascending them. The resource cost for doing this is very small and will give you 1 free regular pull you can use to build towards the 300 standard pull req for choosing a 5 star of your choice.

Doing a few artifact domain runs for the main carry isn't too bad if you can make a cracked dps earlier.
I burned all my fuel on quantum domain post TL 40 on my main and the artifacts I got for seele isn't cracked in any way but was enough that she could carry me all the way up to end game. I never felt underpowered on a new world level as long as I just prefarmed for her (which is easier than prefarming for a whole team) and she even helped me clear all the swarm challenges and easily 3-5 cycles later MOC levels so I have a lot of breathing space to clear moc with 3* even with an underbuilt IL on the second half.
The thing is, you are not wrong by any means, but if you look at it how efficient this is compared to saving your fuels and spend it on Relic runs later on, you could totally get the same set on Seele with half the runs and spend the rest of your fuels on another character - you couldve had a well-built IL by now, not just underbuilt.

My advice, once you'r later on and start farming relics, don't just use anything as xp for the relic you wanna level up.
It's ok to sacrifice 4 star relics, but be mindful on the substats of your 5 star relics.
Example :
Some people might see, oh this relic has in it's sub-stats effect res,hp% and speed, it's mid, I can trash it.
My answer is NO ! It's not mid, check what set it is on. If it's on the hp% set or the healing set, you've got a potential god tier relic on your hands !
People keep advising others on what stats are good for dpses but I think you should always be also aware of what stats your supports need so that you don't trash a relic that might of been extremely precious for them.

Dont trash Relics that are God Tier, but on the wrong set. You have a CD-Body with 5 Rolls in CR but in the Healer Set? Put it on your DPS. The stats almost always matter way more than the small Buff you get with a 4-Piece Set. Its almost always way better to mix and match Relics with good Stats than to waste Resources on farming for that one Relic that you might never get.

For team building i do:
- 1 dps (path destruction)
- 1 sub-dps/tank (the hunt)
- 1/2 support (preservation/harmony)
- 1 healer
Great coverage of the game for any new players MTashed. I would only add these tips regarding relic experience and characters.
- This can save you a ton of relic experience on the long run. You can level up any relic piece to level 3 and if it didn't roll well you can then use it on another unleveled (level 0) relic and it will give you more exp than you originally used taking the new relic piece to level 4. This will work all the way to level 9 after which using level 9 piece on an unleveled one will only get the new one to level 8.
- Sushang is a bit misunderstood as a playable character. Early on she was a decent DPS, but her whole kit and eidolons make her a bleed breaker. Her e4 gives her 40% more Break Effect and e6 boosts her Spd almost permanently. She's at her best with Kafka and can delete MoC bosses within one round (100k+ bleed breaks easily.) My e6 Sushang with 200% Break Effect, 200+ buffed SPD can get so fast she interrupts most bosses double and triple attack chains much like Welt can delete their turns.
Been playing this for a couple months and i just learned that mobs dont respawn at least not immediately, that sure was a shock trying to farm materials for the jump from lvl 60 to 70
