The key is to use the cruise control to keep it at economical revs and even use the cruise control stalk to speed up or slow down instead of your foot on the gas pedal and brake pedal
I had with the E50 with a full tank almost 900 km on the highway and drive about 115 km/hour. It was night with no traffic at all so almost didnt use the brakes also.But i didnt use the cruise control also

Yes bro. These car LUV the highway. Ultimate autobahn cruisers. I drove between Florida and Massachusetts (1500 miles) 7 times in 2020-2021 and these cars are so happy and drive perfect on the highway. I would regularly get over 26 MPG and sometimes over 28 MPG. I even got a Reckless Driving charge driving through Virginia, a cop clocked me at 103 mph in a 70 mph zone. Lmao a few secs before I was doing 120 mph

Crazy because they left the factory with a highway MPG in the low 20s on the window sticker. So that's a testament to how excellent these handmade AMG engines were and how bulletproof the transmissions were that this car was performing that well on 1500 mile drives after 210K miles.
