Unfortunately, that's his downfall. He disappears and is far too inconsistent in the playoffs and doesn't show up in crunch time! He was a needed veteran voice when he first came here but sadly has proven you can't rely on him to shoulder the weight in the long haul.

I was hoping they would pivot when Holmes fell to them, but Missi could be good, I just don’t think this team will have enough lineups that are good both offensively and defensively with this current group. We’ll see how the rest of the off-season goes

he might be just what the pels need. he seems to be more mobile than most bigs, even handles the ball. i can see him blocking shots on one end and receiving lobs from the new point guard or point zion on the other.
His college defense was pretty trash, he gets blocks cos he's 7 foot not bc he's a good defender. Hopefully he's straight into the gym with Herb working on switches and rim protection
Teams are going to spacing big men that can shoot. I don't care about stopping teams, I wanna out score them. Scoring is entertaining and sales tickets. Dang. I didn't just hear that. Jake the suggestion of BI, Trigga, and Mr. "D" and WT? Picks? for Murray, I think that is kind of mental. That guts your roll players, half your scoring in BI then cuts off incoming future for one guy that has been good but hurt and also plays with the MVP so obviously has his game visibility upped as a result.
I was low on Missi just because he does not contribute to outside shooting.
But if we develop and utilize him the right way (ala Lively) , that would be amazing!!

I am good with the pick. When looking at the West we need to deal with Wemby and Chet and Missi could be the defensive big man to match up. With the Jax comparison Missi already seems more mature than Jax is in year 5. As long as Missi has quality maturity he should develop nicely.

I don’t think Murray is it at this point. We have CJ who obviously isn’t as good but they have similar games. We do need someone who can throw lobs and can facilitate in p n r. When Zion isn’t handling the ball the offense stands still. We need a player that can keep Zion involved when he doesn’t have the ball in his hands.

@@lowernineforlife I would have taken Holmes or traded down once Edey, Ware, and Knecht were all off the board. I don't see how Missi helps you win now--he's a poor-rebuilding project with limited offense outside of finishing lobs and we not only don't have a PG to throw lobs, we SUCK at developing bigs--and the window with Zion is not that large.
Now, if we are able to get Trae/Murray and a starting center that Missi can play and learn behind, then so be it... but this was a safe, predictable pick that doesn't move the needle at all for me on its own.

@nola3572 it's been reported by some players around the league that his immature behavior detracts from his trade value. Some players don't even want to play with him. Atlanta is having a difficult time trying to get any trade value for him. Plus his defense is a liability.

The Jamal Murray trade will not happen the Pels don’t have enough picks or players to trade to have winning a team your talking about getting rid of core players and future drafts picks that the Pels will need in the future. Why not just put Zion at point guard and get a PF seems like the best option why look at Luka came in as small forward but because he was so good as the ball handler he best fit was PG pels could do the same with Zion you really could have major miss matches the problem is you need a actual starting caliber PF which they haven’t even found serviceable back up behind Zion

Mitchell Robinson is the center we need next to Zion. I'm from Chalmette and watched him play in high school he can actually shoot the 3 not sure why he struggles from the line cause I've seen him shoot pretty good before he turned pro. But his shot blocking and rim protection would be incredible in New Orleans

The host has been downplaying BI since he showed up in NO. Been trying to trade him for years.
