  • Coolspring Power Museum's 2017 Stirling Engine Exposition. A sampling of the 197 operating hot air engines shown June 15-17, 2017. Exhibitors and visitors came from all over the US and from Canada, the UK, and Australia. Possibly one of the greatest concentrations of operating stirling engine rarities ever assembled.

  • @attiliobastosguarnieri5416

    Que Expo fantástica !! Uma série de motores com dezenas de modelos. Que incrível . O ser humano quando quer ele é genial. Um motor que funciona a ar água e fogo e tem o ferro como terra. Soa com uma certa pureza. Até a NASA já voltou a utilizá-lo. Dá-lhe.

    Is this show repeated on a yearly or other basis? Not that far away from me and all the local steam engine shows seem to never have these hot air engines which I would love to have.

      @riderericsson  Před 6 lety +1

      Mike, While the show is held every June, it is primarily gas engines and this year was the first time a stirling engine expo was held there. Unfortunately it won't happen again any time soon although there are always a few hot air engines at the annual show.

      Thanks for taking the time to reply. We will be headed down to Coolspring next month in our RV to spend some time at the museum. Love all types of steam, gas engines and when it comes to Stirling engines the Rider-Ericsson seemed ideal for water pumping applications at that point in time in history. Could sit and watch it run for hours.

      There's a Rider-Ericsson in the Susong building there but you may have to coax someone to run it at the October show. I also wrote a history of the company which should be available in their gift shop; I think you would find the story interesting.

      Hard to find in the extreme. I think there are between 6 and 8 privately owned.
      At 6:02 I'm afraid we have an imposter! Whoever dragged that thing in should be barred from future events.

    This engine uses a lot of heat energy such as Solar, oil, gas, coal, charcoal Suitable for use in rural areas Should be developed to be smaller And with more engine cycles.
