  • Can you make good ribs in the Instant Pot without needing to spend hours watching the smoker? Let's find out!
I will use McCormick's seasoning pack to see if I can make ribs that compare to a local BBQ chain.
McCormick's Fall-Off-The-Bone Ribs seasoning mix is a convenient option for home cooks looking to achieve flavorful and tender ribs. This seasoning blend typically contains a mix of spices and herbs that enhance the flavor of the meat and create a delicious coating. By following the instructions on the package and combining it with your favorite cooking method, such as using the Instant Pot or slow-cooking in the oven, you can create succulent and tasty ribs that are sure to impress.
Instant pot ribs are typically cooked quickly using pressure cooking, resulting in tender meat in a much shorter amount of time. Smokehouse ribs, on the other hand, are usually slow-cooked over low heat for hours, allowing the flavors to develop and creating a smoky, caramelized crust on the outside. Both methods have their own unique advantages, with instant pot ribs being convenient and time-saving, while smokehouse ribs offer a richer, more complex flavor profile. Ultimately, the choice between the two would depend on personal preference and the amount of time available for cooking.

I agree. I will continue to try other ways to cook. I think next will be the air fryer.

Could you par cook them in the IP then finish off on the smoker/grill??

Maybe. I thought about that as well. I am not sure they would absorb the smoke after being in the IP. Or maybe smoke for an hour and then into the IP to finish?
