@@seppuku- There's even so much more to it. Joker has the best touch of any basketball player ever, and I've followed the game for 40 years. Along with this he also has the top end of elite-tier hand-eye coordination - for anyone above say, 6-8 or 9, there's nobody who's even been close. Along with these two, his feel for spatial awareness, and where he is, and where the basket is are unbelievable. This allows him to be the only player to ever eclipse 50% on midrange shots (3-23 ft) with a minimum of 1000fga. Jokic did it on over 3000. You could easily argue hes the greatest midrange shooter ever - and while he's great from longer distances, it's really his floater and low post game that he thrives on. The guy shot 70%ts for a season, as the primary scorer on a team, absolutely bonkers. There's really even more than that to it, but once you see WHY the advanced stats view him so favorably, and start to understand his game, you can't unsee it. Watching him has almost ruined other players/teams for me because I begin to see back-cuts and basket rolls that Jokic would make, and nobody in the league can hit them or see them like he can. Offensive 🐐
@@daddyfuse50Absolutely right. Jokic makes every other nba player look foolish in comparison. His BBIQ is savant-like. Like he was straight up blessed by the gods
I've never seen a player make a more dramatic impact than Jokic, especially on the offensive end. His his advanced stats show that he has the biggest offensive and defensive plus/minus, which means he improves his team much more than any other player. Even though many people realize he's the best player in the world, most people still underrate him. As for whether he'll become the GOAT, who can say? He and the other Nuggets starters will need to remain healthy and stay together in order to win more championships, and Murray and Porter Jr. have a history of horrible injuries. But if everything goes according to plan, Jokic will probably be among the top 5 NBA players of all time.
The fact that he was drafted #41 and became a multi MVP winner is simply impossible. Basketball is a sport where you can tell who will dominate by the time they’re usually 17-18 years old. Drafting a GOAT Center candidate at 41 is something that is not supposed to be possible in the modern era of limitless scouting and developmental leagues.

@@steviechampagne he didn't shoot 70% from the field so stop the bullshit. He not the best passer either. We talking career also not a hot streak. Great video we are watching greatness in Jokić. Jokić is him! That comment coming from arguably one of the best big man ever is all you need to know!!! Props
Wilt the Stilt is my favourite player but Jokić is getting UP there! So shocked to see how many records he shares with Wilt, he's proven so much and still has so far to go. GOAT 🐐
Jokic didn't really beat Wilts Triple double record... they didn't make blocks an official stat until after Wilt retired. So Wilt got screwed out of dozens of triple doubles. Wilt has the 1 and 2 spots on the most points in a game with a field-goal percentage of 100.0 list.
If he gets 3-5 more seasons like 22-23, and wins the 2-3 more chips to go with them, then hell yeah he's in that goat conversation for sure. And there's a good chance of that, too. His style of play doesn't rely on running super fast or jumping very high, which is partly why he's so durable: he just isn't putting that much stress on his knees or ankles, so he's unlikely to suffer a really bad injury. It's a very sustainable style of play, and one that could get better as he ages.
Really enjoyed this compilation and commentary. I'm old, which means I enjoyed the privilege of watching Michael Jordan in his prime. I have that same feeling of gratitude when I watch the Joker play. This is greatness.

I mean I've never heard the phrase "2nd in history after Wilt Chamberlain" as often as now before and if Wilt is considered top 10 (or close to top 10) player doing that in the 60s Joker if he keeps that pace might be top 3 in history, but he still need few chips, MVPs and an all-Defensive Teams for it to happen, so i hope he improves defensively in the next seasons, so he could join the conversation in like 7 years
He has improved he defense so much the past few years. His defense isnt flashy doesnt go for blocks. But he leading the leauge in deflections and is top 3 in steals. Hes more of a paint protector not a rim protector. Both can be effective if you have the right team behind you. Which we saw this playoff run. Watch closely hes actually a pretty good defender especially come playoff time. He literally runs the defense for the nuggets too always telling where everyone to be and what play they are going to run. His positional awareness is on a different level.
@@Gdfsandoz the problem is, when he ends his career nobody would remember that he was a solid defender, but everybody will remember how many all-Def teams he got and that would diminish h8s greatness, only if he'll be like 10-0 in finals his defence would probably doesn't matter
He will never be the best defender because he lacks quickness. But since he already has the greatest offense of output in the history of the nba during last year's playoffs, people are going to have to get over worrying about him not being as good a defender as guys like Hakeem or Russell.
@@SDesWriter he played in 20 playoff games last year and he averaged 30pg ... it's not the greatest offensive output in playoff history points wise or rebounds for that matter.
I lobe that the two out of this world players in our era are Jokic who isn't athletic at all and Giannis who can't shoot. It's so cool to have players with such an obvious flaw in thier game simply develop and dominate
What makes Lebron so great is his longevity. No player has ever played as good him for this long. Most players in their 20th year are getting garbage cleanup minutes. Lebron is still playing at a very high MVP level in year 20. Appreciate what you’re witnessing. You may never see it again
No disrespect, just genuinely curious: how? He's already on the short list of greatest and certainly most efficient offensive players ever and the advanced stats also show him as (surprisingly for some) a legitimately great defender.
Well... I'm a big fan of Jokic - but I'm not sure about the GOAT prospects. In my mind - he's the MOST COMPLETE BASKETBALL PLAYER in NBA history. But, if he'd be to in the GOAT conversation - he'd need at least 2-3 more rings, 1-2 more finals MVPs and few other things. It's way to early. And there are still a bunch of legends out there... Kareem, Bill, MJ, Larry, Lebron, Kobe, etc etc... He's the most skilled and most complete - I'm sure of that - but to be the GOAT... He'll need more to get in that convo.
Well, if he gets 2 more rings then he will be in the GOAT convo, as Lebron was with only 3. If he does achieve 4 total rings then I would put him above Lebron due to his raw ability to carry his entire team on his back as he did when Murray and MPJ had their injuries. The Nuggets are a complete and utterly dominant team with him, and a borderline failed organisation without him, somewhat similar to the Bulls and Jordan.
@@HunkyPizzaLebron carried two trash rosters to the NBA finals, jokic has never done anything close, and the west is way weaker now then it was 6-7 years ago. People glazing over history is insane. By the time Lebron got his 3rd ring he had twice the MVPs and way better counting stats then jokic. This matters. The biggest hindrance for jokic if he doesn’t get more rings/MVPs will be that he started entering his peak/collecting big stats later in his career.
@@HunkyPizzaalso lmfao Jordan never won a damn thing without pippen, a hall of fame roster and when he retired they still made the ECF without him. Just say you know nothing about basketball. Look at ‘07 Cavs or even 17 Cavs and seriously ask yourself if joker can do better. But especially ‘07. He was getting shredded without MPJ and Murray in the postseason. As soon as Lebron left Cleveland the first time they got kyrie because of how bad the drop off was. That’s why he left in the first place, they were in the postseason off his carry job alone and not getting picks.

You're confusing him playing on a great team versus him being a great player. Wilt dominated him in every category in every matchup they had in regular season and playoffs but russell always had the better team and would win despite getting out played. Put russell on a mediocre team and he keeps them competitive but he's not leaving the league with 10 rings.
@@SDesWriter I disagree with both your points: 1) According to Ben Taylor's statistical analysis, Russell contributed more to winning than Wilt did. Specifically, look at how his WOWYR is superior to Wilt's. 2) Russell did join a mediocre team and made them 11x champions. Boston didn't win a finals before Russell. The year he joined, Boston's win% jumped massively, and their defensive rating skyrocketed. 2.1) Boston started winning the moment Russell joined and stopped winning the year Russell left. 2.2) Boston had similar numbers of all stars to other teams during their dynasty. 2.3) Russell's style of play drastically improves a team regardless of teammate quality. He doesn't need the ball to change the box score. 3) If Boston was so good, why did 10 of Russell's playoff series go to Game 7? Boston won almost every single one by slim margins. They sounded like incredibly competitive games.
@@SDesWriterOh no 1000% Bill is a better Basketball player than Wilt. Wilt was just more physically gifted and good at pretty much every single track and field sport.

Why do people forget to mention Kobe!!! He could do anything he wanted on the court, he wad ferocious, he made guys better around him. He was literally MJ. If you could start a team and choose LeBron or Kobe both in Prime… I’m taking Kobe 💯
Jokic is on his way to become a legend. If he keeps going like that, he will much likely be a clear top 10 to ever play this game. What will make him enter the top 5 and then above would be the number of ring he will get and how great will be his future battle to get those rings.
I can see all the points in his favor. He's accruing all-time records at an incredible pace, he makes the game look easy, you've already got his peers saying he's unguardable, and he's got the 2 MVPs and 1 FMVP so far. But for him to edge past Jordan he'll have to continue to have no blemishes on his resume, become a consistent elite defender over most of his career, collect a few more MVPs, and do something crazier than 2 3peat championship runs while being the FMVP for all of them. Regular season stat titles could help too but maybe we'd accept his regular season triple double averages instead. Something that doesn't work in his favor is that he's playing in the most offense-oriented era ever. One talking point for Jordan is that he's an all-time offensive player despite playing as a guard in a big man era that played a slow-paced physical defensive style of basketball.
@@MovieGuy666 Yeah. But they also have a reason to not hype him up -- he's a relatively less athletic Euro player. A lot of US-born players tend to show a bias against Euro players, including against Giannis.
Joker is definitely one of the best players playing right now and he is an offensive genius but he does not love the game enough to be in this conversation. He is a great teamate and his basketball IQ is above most. He has so much more to do in order to be in GOAT conversations.
Jokic has his unortodox (unique) style going for him even tho he is an ortodox lol So if he wins 1 more mvp and 1 more ring Its gonna be hard to keep him off top 10 already And i think it can happen this year

Great video man! Love the way you displayed his brilliance and showed nearly ever important or impressive stat or record. I'm a native of Colorado & a huge Nuggets fan. This team and Jokić specifically is and has been so much fun to watch grow and develop as well as improve every year at something or add something more to his bag of tricks that I'm left fighting with myself on who's the goat to me, MJ who I luckily got to see all of and now Jokić. I dont have LeBron on my top two list but I think he is a told three or top two guy with a huge argument to be made for #1. And it might just be recency bias but I just feel like I enjoy the entirety of Jokić's game and just who he is as a person. He's just brilliant and completely unguardable and I know MJ was too with his tongue 👅 out. But jok is just so humble and kind. He might not be as athletic as MJ or as muscular as DH but he uses his body and what God gave him to work for him and his body type or athleticism doesn't hold him back at all. You wanna call him a defensive liability? Go look at his numbers. He's good at defensive too just looks different. Does it different than others but his rating is just as good. I hope as this take gets colder and more people see he could very well be the next possible greatest ever but time will tell. He's got a ring now so you can't say he can't win or doesn't have one. His stats in the playoffs are just insane. And second probably only to Wilt. So many things he and Wilt are right there together at doing. But yea, one of the best videos on his rise that I've seen. See, now when I argue about top 5 all time, for centers it's even tougher to choose. I waffle among Wilt, Kareem, Olajuwon, and now Jokic. Maybe in a few years it'll be more clear. Here's to at least one more Jokic MVP and chip!
He will end up in the top 10 when its all said and done I'm a jokic fan idk about the GOAT but he will be top 10 Edit: 15:43 he did it in less minutes than bird
i just think that in jokic entire career once he's done he'll be like duncan who just vanish out of nowhere then appear out of thin air all of a sudden
If he keeps braking records the way he's been doing he's definitely gonna be worthy of the title..I personally don't care if he gets it or not just as i don't care if they deny him another MVP award..If he's worthy he's worthy..I know it, he knows it, everyone in basketball knows it regardless of who gets the title..his stats prove him the best of this era..He's even breaking records of the best of other eras..will he be the best of all time? I really hope so..But i'll be the judge of that once all the facts are in..
Only thing that could hold Jokic back from reaching his full potential in GOAT talk is longevity. I don’t think he’s gonna play too far into his 30s - he’s made more money than he’ll ever spend and already accomplished so much more than he hoped. And he DEFINITELY doesn’t care about proving or accomplishing anything individual (GOAT status included), and prefers to live a low key life… so when this Nuggets squad starts losing most of its key pieces he probably won’t stick around much longer either and I doubt he’s ever going to a different team.
He's proven his game. All he needs is the longevity stats and accolades. If he can snag more rings, MVPs, and FMVPs, look out. We're going to be talking about Jokic like our fathers talk about Magic.
He’s great but let’s not get ahead of ourselves here. He’s still a young player with much more to accomplish. It would help to brush up on our NBA history.
I'm a huge jokic fanboi, but let's pump the brakes y'all. He'll be remembered as one of the all-time greats, no question, maybe even top ten like you said. But to be in the conversation with MJ and Lebron, he needs another four titles, minimum. And there's too much parity in the league right now for that to be realistic. No disrespect though. You made your point. Great video.
What did MJ ever do, beat the weak ass Utah Jazz 2 man game? He had to wait for Bird to retire to get his first title. Lebron had to dump Cleveland and run to a pair of superteams to win anything. Same can be said of Shaq, running to a new city to play on a superteam really tarnishes your titles.
Regardless we'll be able to say no player in NBA history has ever elevated a team more than Jokic. And in all-around offensive sheeeesh he might be the GOAT
Jokic carries his career like Tim Duncan. Where he doesnt put much attention to himself so even though hes extremely gifted, he'll be regulated to the greatest center of all the time.

Jokic is the first flawless big man we’ve ever seen. He’s a do it all player as a 7 ft giant this is ridiculous. Jokic and Giannis are fighting for the face of the league crown and it’s amazing to see.
*defense is half the sport* and tho this generation is more gifted offensively than ever so it doesnt really show as much, but other than Curry every other top 10 worthy player was a good defender at worst. Now if he keps goin like this he wont become the goat imo, but he will be top 10

Joker is the greatest player ever been watching the nba since 98 never seen something like him
People realllly don't understand what theyre watching with him. Casuals might never get it, but hes legit rhe best offensive player since Wilt.
@@daddyfuse50I agree let me break it down for the casuals.
He can play down in the post elbows, pivots, spin moves, shakes and even hook shots sometimes.
He can play all 5 positions on offense with ease, he has the best fast break awareness i’ve ever seen.
The man can literally do one legged fadeaways as a big man, i’ve only ever seen dirk do that with control & balance.
And if you dare even start to double team him or loose focus on your man, he’s already weaved the ball over to the open player for an easy unexpected dime.

@@MovieGuy666but jokic triple doubles never have blocks
Because he plays so slow and under control he rarely gets injured
This is greatness.
he makes them impossible to defend. nobody even slowed him down. his level of play is just off the charts good. his ability to run the show is off the charts good. I think top ten is a no doubter. he's got a legit shot at being the goat. there's no part of offense he isn't super elite at
Yes he is great player but to be best NBA player ever he has to keep playing elite for like at least a 10 years, stay away from injuries and win many titles... Let's see what happens! By the way, the videos on the playlist on my channel might interest / inspire some people!

Joker if he keeps that pace might be top 3 in history, but he still need few chips, MVPs and an all-Defensive Teams for it to happen, so i hope he improves defensively in the next seasons, so he could join the conversation in like 7 years
He has improved he defense so much the past few years.

Jokic could win easily 2-3 more titles and 2-3 finals MVP’s if Denver team is complete and healthy .
Jokic can easily be top 10 at least.
The clip of kd block jokic shot and jokic immediately get the rebound and makes it is hilarious. You know that had to sting.

Yeah some people put Lebron
As the “goat” I don’t agree. I think MJ is better than Lebron, I think Tim Duncan is better than him, Russell, Magic, etc…
@@SDesWriter I disagree with both your points:
1) According to Ben Taylor's statistical analysis, Russell contributed more to winning than Wilt did.

One talking point for Jordan is that he's an all-time offensive player despite playing as a guard in a big man era that played a slow-paced physical defensive style of basketball.
of course his fellow players are going to hype him up... it makes the competition seem better and makes them feel like they're better because of it.
@@MovieGuy666 Yeah. But they also have a reason to not hype him up -- he's a relatively less athletic Euro player. A lot of US-born players tend to show a bias against Euro players, including against Giannis.

I really hope so..But i'll be the judge of that once all the facts are in..

ive been saying since 2019 that hes the next Jordan.
I can’t have this convo until he gets 3 chips
Jokic is already top 10 all time in my book. Hes just that guy
Just enjoy the ride boyz
I hope Jokic settles the GOAT debate by getting everyone to agree that he is the GOAT.
He's proven his game. All he needs is the longevity stats and accolades. If he can snag more rings, MVPs, and FMVPs, look out. We're going to be talking about Jokic like our fathers talk about Magic.
