Recently bought a spot hogg xl. Thanks for posting this video. Very informative. Best video i have seen on setting them up.
Out of all the videos on sighting in this sight you gave the best explanation!!!
Just a quick tipp: you always want to take off that bow jack prior to shooting as it really prevents the bottom limbs from working properly thus throwing off your bows timing.
Great video! You really took the time to break down the process which is great for new archers. Too many times I see videos from veteran archers that just assume people know more than they do. Keep content like this coming, I’m sure all the new archers out there would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you for taking the time to thoroughly explain how to sight in the Fast Eddie.
Just got bit with the archery bug and bought this exact same sight. This is a very thorough and well made video for us newbies. Thank you for making it.
The best explaination ive seen yet. Thank you. David from England UK
Awesome Video, Thank you for the help!
Thanks dude that’s great I’m just looking at buying that sight some great information ✌️
When I was a kid in the 70's/80's, my cousin was an olympic archer. He got me started very young and I ended up shooting some deer and javelina in my teens. Then I quit hunting and haven't done any til a few years ago. Now I'm looking at picking it back up and I like the looks of this site a lot. This video was very informative and answered all my questions. Thanks!
Great and informative video!
Very helpful. I just bought this sight for my new v3x.
Best explanation on how to this with the Fast Eddie!!! Thanks man 👊🏼
I've watched 5 of these how to sight in videos. This was easily the most easy to follow.
New archer here as well. I just got the Fast Eddie triple stack and I'm finished dialing in my sight tape. Nice to see this process from a very basic beginner's point of view!
Im ordered mine watching this video
Dude this is great content!! Way to start out , you deff have a good eye for this
Awesome video man! This sold me on buying one because of the way you broke down how easy it is to set up
They are rock solid. My only complaint is the stickers. Let me know if you have any questions.
Appreciate the super cool info on the Fast Eddie! Just got one for my new bow!
Great video...I'm in the market for a new sight and this helps..👍
Great job explaining this process....I just got a FAST EDDIE XL 3 pin and will be sighting in my V3X as soon as it stops raining.
Great video! I like all the detail you give. I watched other videos but they lack the detail explanation. Great job!
We have the same bow. I just got my fast Eddie XL today. This tutorial was great.
I appreciate the video! I bought a Spot Hogg Tommy Hogg and I am kind of intimidated by the sight tapes and calibration tapes so this video was very helpful. Going to sight my bow in soon with the new sight
I have the same sight on my bow. Just wanted a refresher because I need to sight my bow again. My sight has moved because I have done a bunch of miles on the ATV with my bow strapped down. Anyways, just wanted to say I enjoyed your video and how you presented step by step on how to sight in this bow sight.
Thanks for sharing!!
I just bought the fast eddie xl double pin . I love it and it was very easy to sight in. I got my 20yd sighted in then ranged 60yd moved the dial to the 20 mark and was just a few inches low from the mark. My tape ended up being 16
it all looks so complicated. Thanks for the video
It's not that bad. Once you actually put your hands on it and start shooting, it becomes more clear.
1. this sight is amazing, just bought the Fast Eddie xl double pin at .10 and it's a game changer
2. just started sighting in today and its so precise that I've already got a robinhood ( great accuracy, but ruins arrows haha)
3. this video is perfect. explains at the rudimentary level how to sight it in... simple and perfect.
thank you!
Thanks. It's a great sight. I started buying the Vegas 3 target papers. I was ripping vanes, popping nocks, and split several arrows.
Nice Video! I am not sure if i am gonna get a Fast Eddie or a Hogg Father, thats what got me here. I think you gotta rewatch school of nock... especially the videos with the grip and pulling through the shot. Just some advise... dont get me wrong, your form is really good considering you only have been shooting for six weeks. Sighting in this kind of bowsights is not an easy task and you explained the process flawlessly, thumbs up for that!
Thanks. Don't know much about the Hogg Father, but I really like being able to adjust the length of the sight as well. I'm always tinkering and adjusting my form. Currently trying the Backstrap right now.
@@uosocal archery is something nobody is ever gonna master. You are on a good way man, try different equipment, find out what works for you and when you found the right setup stick with that and perfect your form... think about a Setup, build it, Test it... if you like the result use it! Just keep going, I am shooting bows for almost two decades now, I feel like I am a good shot but I am still working on minor flaws that come and go over time.
The Backstrap is a really good release of you wanna learn backtension. Dudley made so many people better archers it would be nonsense not listening to him.
So when adjusting for windage, turning the micro adjust knob clockwise will move the site to the right? Thanks
On my bow I can mount the fast Eddie XL at a high and low level which one should I do?
Nice job brother and cool seeing another bow addict in SoCal. I’m your neighbor right up the way in Yorba Linda. Been thinking of getting this sight, any more thoughts on it since the video? I’m deciding between this sight or the HHA optimizer ultra, don’t think u can go wrong either way but leaning towards the Eddie👍
also have to check out Hi-tech thanks for the info there aren’t too many bow shops around here it’s good to support them to keep it alive. You should check out 3D, it’s a blast & there are a couple ranges by us one in chino the other in riverside.
I am still using this sight. I like it a lot. Only a couple of dis likes. The sticker tape sights are kind of a pain. Also, the lever to lock the sight wheel is difficult sometimes. I want something with aluminum sight tapes. Looking at Apex, but they are pretty expensive.
Are u still using your top pin throughout the calibration? Or go to your second after top is on at 20? If it’s mentioned in the video I must have missed it
Definitely using the top pin throughout. The lower pin is only secondary after you are done sighting in.
Question about the Horizontal Micro Adjust... Do you turn it toward you to make your arrows hit Right? Forward to make your impact hit Left?
Clockwise moves the housing left, counter clockwise to the right. You move the housing in the same direction as your miss. Missing right, move the housing right.
Love the way you explain I just bought the fast eddy two pins sunday I’ll set my bow with my new sight you did an excellent job let those arrows fly straight GRAYEAGLE
When you sight in the 20 year pin do you want the slider bar to start bottomed out or topped out?
As high as possible. That will give you the most amount of travel as you move out farther. Especially if you have a heavy arrow, and lower draw weight.
Did you adjust second and third axis before finding your tape and sighting it in?
Yes. I had my local archery shop set the 2nd and 3rd axis. You can do it yourself, if you have a bow vise.
Thanks for breaking this down. Seriously considering this sight after watching Cam Hanes shoot. I think the simplicity of the vertical pins makes a lot of sense for hunting. #makelifeanadventure
ALSO WHAT HAPPENS TO THE YELLOW PIN ? NOBBODY EVER TALKS ABOUT THE 2ND PIN ? WHERE DID IT LEAVE YOU AT 20 YARDS NOW THAT YOUR SIGHTED IN?
JUST WONDERING WHAT POUNDAGE YOUR SHOOTING ? I SAW ANOTHER GUY WITH THE SAME TAPE SIGHTING AFTER HE WAS SPOT ON AT 60 YOU SAID 55 POUNDS THEN 70 THEN BACK TO 55 OR 65 ??
I don't remember the exact poundage. Arrow weight, and draw length will also factor in.
@UOSocal, did you have to resight it in once you took the stand off your bottom limbs?
I don't remember. It may have been off a little. I've re-sighted it so many times, it's hard to keep track. I've changed arrows 3 times since then.
When your moving back and shooting at 30,40,50. What pin are you useing?
@@uosocal ok thanks man! I have the exact sight on my new Mathews. And I’m just now getting into the sighting in part with the sight tape!
Thanks again!!
What do I do if my arrows are landing an inch or two to high and the dial is already high as it can go?
Why does my arrow look like it’s gonna hit the bottom of my scop just at 50 yards did I’m install wrong?
I can’t get the windage micro adjust knob to turn unless I use pliers. I unlock the lever and cannot turn it by hand. Any advice??
Not sure. Make sure all of the wheels are clean, and nothing is in there locking it up.
Helpful hint
With your bow stand still attached when you shoot your limbs aren't able to move freely effectively killing accuracy
What material is that target??
They are foam tile squares from home depot. Usually come in a six pack for around $20.
Why did you cut the numbers off on that side of the tape? Wouldn't it be easier to read the other way around?
I like to cut the numbers off of the left side of the tape. That way the indicator arm is right on the hash marks.
@@uosocal in the video you cut it off the right side, not the left thats why i asked.
I just re-watched it. Nice catch. I've done that a couple of times by accident. Definitely cut the numbers off of the left side.
can you shoot this sight without a peep?
Job well done I learn a lot watching keep up the good work GRAYEAGLE
If you're hitting dead nuts at 10-20 yards, but start drifting left or right at further yardage...yoy need to move your rest
Enjoying your content! Keep up the good work. If you have a moment please feel free to look at my account 😃👍
Damn i stopped watching when you said 6 weeks
Jk good video
Try relaxing your back shoulder. You look really stuffed up.
By far the best most thorough Fast Eddie XL sighting breakdown here. Thanks!
Thanks
Agreed. I’m new to archery and ordered this very sight for my new bow.
I like it a lot. Even got my friend to order one.
