Wow. ..excellent...I don't speak a word of Danish ... But the attention to details. ,business...exemplary....sir Joseph....the first time I have seen him played as I always wanted.. everyone else....absolutly bloody brilliant....No wonder the D'oyly Carte went under....are so sad to reflect.....but they didn't move with the times...Well done to everyone.. ..brilliant...and much enjoyed...
Josephine the captain's daughter is played by Birgitte Price 1934 - 1997 already known as a Danish actress of the 1950s and 1960s. Sweden's Radio Symphony Orchestra deliver Sullivan's music with authentic gusto while the translation deviates from Gilbert's text: for some reason the ominous Dead-eye Dick whom everyone dislikes is allowed to live on high with a monkey on a lifeboat that seems incongruous on a 19th century British man-of-war. But the costumes and the choreography are both treats that don't owe much to the orthodox UK Doyly Carte tradition.

It's fascinating to listen to G&S in another language, and I've never seen a young and tall Sir Joseph.
I have some questions for any Danes. How good is the translation? Do the jokes still land? Did they have to change much do you think?
