Solid video - production quality is top notch dude. I DO think AR will have an impact, prob. in 3-5 years - and I think it will make more impact at first in productivity/work - no more carpal tunnel or sitting in the same spot all day while working (office jobs I mean)...you could literally have a recliner and lean back while virtual screens surround you...it will be amazing when the FOV is larger and the headset lighter.

If that's a coincidence then it's a coincidence for me too :] Man, leap is still one of the most immersive experiences I've ever had in VR. It's just crazy to have your actual hands in VR. Not controllers that mimic your hands, but actual hands
Hi mate a few (a lot) of months ago we had a chat about foviation the varjo is as close as ive seen whilst its not something 99% of us will ever own its a massive step. 6 grand i read that as euro aswell is not a crazy price given the super limited market it will have but i remember my first brick mobile phone which had 20mins talk time and almost 4hrs standby for 1400 bucks back in the days of leaded petrol. The fact they could get this thing running on a current gpu even if its a 2080ti is great its all a matter of time now. Bring it on and before people start whinging about price and system requirements please remember this is NOT for you but given the fact it exists, it works, means there may be a version in the future as they advance and bring the cost down. My prediction is 30-36months for consumer version, of course thats a guess based on my monkey math but there will be a 3080ti available then aswell to power it. Exciting news mate thanks.
I agree, this is in no way, shape or form a consumer device. As mentioned in the vid, it's for companies like Audi and Volkswaagen etc. But the fact that it exists at all right now is a sign that at least part of the problem has been solved. Next we need the mechanics to move the screen in line with gaze based tracking and for compute processing to catch up a little. Fun times ;]
@@F4CEpa1m Absolutley mate super excited to see it, i saw it about a week back what a wonderful job from what i could tell about the designers it was done on a shoestring aswell crowd funded even which just makes it all the more impressive could you imagine the design and planning meetings (if we raise this we can possibly do that) so much respect. Now the big boys come in and make it a thing for the rest of us hey.
More games to buy that I dont have time to play. Dad life... although my 6 year old is obsessed with the fnaf stuff. I think I'll show him the VR one and do a little traumatizing.

Tried Virta-Mate looks like it could shape up to be something really good. But was wondering if you have ever tried VRKanojo on steam with patch. still in my mind the best simulation of its type out there so far. If you know of something better I would love to know about it.

Problem with Microsoft is they always release stuff too early. See surface pro 1, awful in so many ways, now the surface must be one of the most awesome laptops hybryds out there. Also edge is really solid today too, I just hate the idea of internet explorer;) edge is actually better than chrome for me. But will never use either of them again.
Oh loard I just cannot get on with Microsoft Edge, it's just still so poor for me. Glad to hear someone getting good results though! I like the way they doing HoloLens, there's no real commercial release as yet and Microsoft themselves saying it's very much an unfinished work in progress. Which to be fair, as you say, differs from past endeavours.

Yeah you can. I haven't actually raced the karts in PC2 so couldn't say but I'd say it's be better if I had to guess
