Tom, what is a good vacumn pump oil brand for my home DIY Mastercool 6cfm pump which is 12 years old. I have replaced the oil a few times in the past. It is not used often. thanks
@@AAB371 you got two choices. You could go with the cheapest vacuum pump you can find and just replace it more often . If you test with a micron gauge, your vacuum pump is not that good in the first place don’t bother spending a lot of money on expensive synthetic vacuum pump oil . You could buy it from Robin Air. You could buy it from JB pumps any of the big names that use regular mineral oil, vacuum pump oil because remember they don’t make the vacuum pump oil. A big company like Castro or shell or mobile or some other company makes the mineral oil and purifies it. They sell it to distributor distributor has contracts with vacuum pump companies to put their label on it and then mark up the price 10,000%. If you have a micron gauge test your vacuum pump before you do the oil change take some pictures or short video And then change the oil and readings after you change the oil and see what the difference And post your findings on Facebook group Automotive HVAC technicians
