As an old Norwegian in Norther California, living my seventh decade, I'll never forget my childhood growing up in Bergen. These songs bring back so many memories. Alt for Norge.
Being a Bergenser myself it is one of my absolute biggest goals in life to visit northern California and see the redwood forests, and then travel north to Seattle, which is funnily enough the sister city of Bergen. We even have a totem pole from Seattle in Nordnesparken commemorating that fact! Alt for Norge min venn
@@CrimsonsDeath12 Northwest California and western Oregon are both great drives. Going up Hwy 101 and Hwy 1 will give you some spectacular views of the coast. My brother lived in Seattle, and I was stationed there across from Seattle in Bremerton for some time years ago. When we lived in Bergen, my aunt and uncle and my two cousins lived in the large white house inside Fredriksberg Fort at Nordnes. He worked for the state as a Meteorologists and had his weather station there. We lived above the fishmarket above the Floybannen station. I used to play with my cousins at the fort and expored all the little tunnels under the fort and inside the walls. One of which went almost all the way down to the water. Nordnes battalion would practice in the other building which was a small hall of some sort. It was a fun place to play. My grandfather had a great little cabin up at Erdal. We spent many summer days out there.
Probably my favorite of "the national anthems" because it's not about nationalism, war, or history, but about kids and the future, which I think is what the 17th of May really is and should be about
@kaste94 Henrik Wergeld’s original was written in Danish/early riksmål yes, but this version is poetic modern Bokmål. This is evident by the fact that the letter å is used, which did not exist in riksmål (which used aa). Also the spelling of fatherland, fedreland, is another sign of it being modern. Riksmål spelled it as fædreland

Ingen you should do one with the swedish student song.

Sounds so much like What a lovely morning, Christian anthem
The er 17 mai ❤
Norge 4 life liksom! #Norgeerbest
Ja Norge e best
What is the literature form of Norwegian language performed in ðis video?
If you are thinking of the 2 written forms, then it is "bokmål", or "riksmål" as it was called back then.
Elias Proletarian from Russia This is modern Bokmål, though in a slightly poetic fashion
@@LordDim1 This isn't modern Bokmål. It's the old riksmål with a slightly danish spelling. It was written in 1841.

@@LordDim1 plural "er" (ere) is in use though, so it seems to riksmål with bokmål orthography
Det er snart 17. mai!

Norwegian week ? 😛
