@Wyatt Kessler hmmm...well, that all depends. You can juice the HP in all of them to insane levels nowadays so it's really a wash there. But what about handling? Comparing your Mopars to a C8 in handling is laughable so don't even try. But have you ever driven a C5-C7? Your modern Chargers and Challengers can't handle nearly as well. It's basic physics. C5-C7's have transverse mounted transmissions which evenly distributes weight, are lighter and are lower to the ground. So your Heliphant HP ain't gonna do you any good if you can't keep it on the road in turns. Just sayin...

For the complete package of factory HP (horsepower), low cost upgrades to increase HP, incredible Ferrari like handling and cool aesthetics / looks you cannot beat a C5 Corvette. These cars have transverse mounted transmissions (it's in the rear of the car). With long tube headers and a cold air intake mine is pushing around 390 HP to the flywheel.
Yeah ls1 engines are still pretty much king of the road and track they beat new sports cars all the time, I had a 98 Z28 and it was built in Canada which alot of people don't know where way faster out of the factory then the United states "less restrictions" and it had full bolt ons LT headers, full exhaust, whisper lid and so on and the thing was a beast, I destroyed a 2012 ss Camaro that was full bolt on and cammed and we raced all the way to 160 mph, he had me at the go cause I had a shift kit that was messing up but soon as I passed 90 cause I had stock gears so you know how crappy 90 is, it wasn't even a race anymore we raced a few more times and I killed him everytime.
@@ollygamer358 A friend of mine had a 98 for about a year and then totaled it while he was driving in the rain on a long loping turn. He wasn't pushing it all that hard but the slope angle of the road, the wet conditions and his acceleration threw him sideways into another car. On dry pavement they handle well but you have to be a lot more careful on wet roads. I never understood why GM didn't go ahead add the C4 rear suspension to Camaro's and TA's back in those years or at least offer it as an upgrade. My C5 handles quite well in the rain.

Just raced today our Charger RT 2019 against a 2018/2019 Corvette and it was fun. Of course it was just for fun and I knew we would get smoked. But currently saving up for a hellcat and cant wait to race another corvette once I get it.

The issue is that the chargers are HEAVY as shit. Over 4k lbs! The Corvette is approx 3k. Power to weight son!
My '02 C5 with Cold air intake,S/S cat backs and a crappy power programmer puts out roughly 50 hp less but weighs 800 lbs.less.Power to weight ratio is the biggest factor.

That’s gonna be the outcome when your RT is stock and it’s a 5 speed lol better off racing the RT 8 speed with the 2019 and up. If it was a newer RT with the 8 speed and newer transmission and a slight tune because it was A MODDED VETTE CLEARLY. It would have been a different outcome

Gaz Murphin too bad by time the srt 8 came out in 06 the vette was making 400 hp stock and walking them, til 07-08 when the ls3 came in to make it worse, then the 6.4 out muscled the new lt1 but power to weight gives it to the vette again 🥴 that vette in the vid would’ve shit on anything short of a hellcat anyway, probably woulda gave the hellcat a hard time, might even pull on one lol nice try boss man, my 99 ls1 t/a with just bolt ons and gears pulls on new 392s and i haven’t even opened the 100k plus mile LS1 in it... dodge sign out 😂

I raced 2 different 392 in my C5 and walked away from both. The power to weight ratio favors the Vette, the Dodge is too heavy.

Damn I was in a buddy’s 2019 rt plus and we raced a c5 and it dragged it badly
Then the vette either had a mechanical issue or a terrible driver 😂. There’s no way stock for stock a challenger rt should ever beat a c5.

Earlier C5s (97-2000) with automatic trans and 2.95 rear gears are the slowest of the C5s out of the box. They have similar 0-60 and 1/4 time to the 2019 RT.
If a stock RT “dragged” as in destroyed a C5 in a race it was likely an A-4 with 2.95s and a bad driver, or an MN6 with an even worse driver.
