This is I Got Rhythm as performed by FRED. We are singing in the Newberg High School Auditorium at our last Show Choir concert of the year. Thank you for watching and enjoy!
Mimicry is the best form of flattery! FRED is a great quartet and it's cool to see people studying their comedy. You studied it and preformed it to a T. Great job!
These cats have it down pat.,,, Watch out FRED.. Here comes some competition. LOve it.. and keep it coming..Love the alteration to a nose pick instead of a tooth pick.
The 4 singers in this are amazing, this is gonna be one of my favorate things I've ever wacthed. barbershop is one of the funnest things ever, but thtis makes it up to a hole new level!
Although I grew with an ear for music and playing multiple instruments ,listening to Barber Shop as a child was what peeked my interest in music and singing. Played 3 years in band and then Concert Choir for 3 years .. never once did I hear this song .... But you guys totally rocked it. Awesome Job. Thank you for sharing.
You did a great job with this. I'm not sure any high school group could hope to match FRED's harmonies, but I honestly think the humor worked better in your version than in their performance. You were getting big laughs from the very first gag. This is a wonderful cover of a very difficult number. You did some first rate comedy work.
I'm singing this for a theater compition and I won't be able to stop smiling because of how amazingly cute and funny this is! Well done on the harmonizing and the gags!
Got a chance to see FRED recently. What a great group of guys. They are top notch singers and entertainers. They were kind enough to allow me to sing a polecat number with them after the show. I knew what you were doing when I first seen you walk on that stage in the video. I think you did a GREAT job with it. I hope you will consider singing barbershop well into the future and can convince others to join you. If you ever find yourself in York, PA feel free to stop in on the White Rose Chorus.
I just watched FREDs rendition of this routine. I guess they created it, but I laughed more at the timing and execution of the gags from this group. I think if you stay together, you will go far. You have tons of talent and you work very well together. I hope you keep it together and make a name for yourselves.
i'm impressed i thought this would be another put on the music and voices and just act funny but you guys put great effort in this it was hilarious thank you.
I have sung barbershop for 20+ years and sung on the international stage as a qtet with FRED one time. Keep up the good work.. don't be afraid to project and pump the sound.. Better mics would have helped.. Sound coaches would help... great song..S
Pretty good imitation of Fred's schtick. It's fun to see how well it works in front of a non-barbershop crowd. The singing, on the other hand, could certainly use some reworking. It sounded to me like there was a lot of doubling and even unisons where there shouldn't have been any. Comic quartets usually run into the problem of spending more time on schtick than they do on working on ringing the chords. Be sure not to fall into that trap. There's a reason why it took FRED 11 yrs to win the gold!
While it was mostly unisons and power chords, it was an entertaining and gutsy performance. Good job guys. I'm gonna guess that you guys tried to figure out the arrangement yourselves from watching the FRED video a million times? You guys did a good job with the bell chord near the end and I bet that you guys would sound great if you got some sheet music and sang the actual arrangement!
great work guys! really enjoyed this video! Ignore the people who think they know shit just 'cause they have a youtube account. Bet they couldn't do this!
Pretty funny, but I can confirm that they were not singing "barbershop music". A quartet of 4 guys, yeah, but the music was closer to traditional choral music. I didn't hear even one minor seventh, and it sounded like lead-bass most of the time.
A barbershop quartet is first and foremost entertainment, and these guys nailed it perfectly
Magnificent job, guys. Very professional.

My brother formed a wonderful group. I just wish the school would do something like this again.
