100% agree! I quit my job three and a half years ago, cashed out my 401k and had a ball for a year. A small voice in my head, and my parents, said I was crazy. But in my heart I knew I was on my way to financial abundance. Now I'm earning more than double what I was at that job and almost saved up what I cashed out of my 401k.
Energy is everything. What we think about in the present will manifest itself! Congratulations on following your intuition.

"The Universe" is just space, dust, vacuum, and rock. If you mean the Creator/Maker/God, He isn't so much concerned with our outward possessions and richness but much more with the inner wealth - possessing His Spirit by repentance and trusting Him for salvation. Any "cosmic" message opposite from this is not of God :D
It’s not even hard. I completely changed my life by doing two things: stopped praying ‘please Universe ...’ and started praying ‘Thank u Universe ...’. Also I wrote on a card that I put by my mirror and said aloud at least once a day, with feeling:
I am so grateful that I have attracted true love, SO much money and a beautiful home to live in.
I have all that now - and so much more, the best is the true love for mySelf. It never hurts to say I LOVE YOU to urself every time u look in the mirror. 💚💜

I use to live in scarcity and it wasn't until I lost both parents that I realized I am a single woman that has no one to catch me if I fall and that I have to do it all on my own and after 6 months of deep meditation and spending time with no one that I seriously know I deserve to be happy, I deserve to treat myself sometimes and not be so uptight about life because I was going through it and not enjoying it. Thank you for writing this. 💫👑☀️💚
How did you know enough was enough? I just had a falling out with a close friend (more than but it was complicated) and I built my whole life around him. I feel so empty and scared and I know I can't do what I always do and just self-destruct. I'm scared to take the next step I think.

@@alozzzy1213 trust me. I had the same situation happen to me. I centered my entire life around my ex bf and when he dumped me and my BFF of 8 years left I was forced to focus on myself finally. It felt weird because These people have become apart of my personality if that makes sense. It left a “empty” feeling. The Universe will definitely snatch up everyone so you can focus you. I learned that I’m the only constant in my life so that’s where my energy deserves to be first and foremost. Self love is honestly refreshing and fun. Please learn how to find comfort in knowing Whatever is meant for you WILL be. Rejection is Spirits protection.

This is absolutely true. I remember my "ah-ha" moment around this topic. It tends to be engrained in our up bringing. Add to it "surviors guilt" while thinking you won't fit in with your family or close friends keeps you in struggle thinking. This journey or as you state passage, is why I now teach and pour out financial heath to the community that i serve

This is exactly the shift my mind has gone through within the last year. I started meditating for a few minutes each morning, focused on ABUNDANCE. Everything has been flowing quite nicely‼ It's all about energy. No more scarcity mindset💯💯💯
We were all born worthy, we inherited the kingdom, ask and it is given, why? because everything was already prepared for us, God knows what we want even before we ask, the only thing in my opinion that you need is awareness ❤❤❤

Yup, desperation sets up a negative energy field around us. Very few of us learn how to control this in a given incarnation. It's a lots easier said than done, given that, it rides in our subconscious mind.

I am over 50 years old and have yet to trust myself enough to follow my passion and allow the universe to carry and sustain me! Yup. I used to congratulate myself on being “so good with money” when really I was handling it like C4 instead of like a friend. I was terrified of being broke again like I was in college, and that fear and overcautiousness kept me in a dead end job for 15 years. So scarcity mentality affects more than just how you spend money itself- it affects major life decisions. Pursuing a new career has taken a lot of meditation and inner work about the damnedest things!😂
I believe in abundance. Every morning I wake up Alicia, and say "Thank you Universe, I ALWAYS have more than enough" and I truly do. All love ❤

I think it’s brilliant. I know exactly what you are talking about because I experienced that myself. I used to have a scarcity mentality so much that I didn’t think it was necessary to tithe (I’m Christian) but when I realized that my power, my finances and all that is, comes from a higher power, I learned to let go. I learned what you give always comes back multiplied. The more faith you have in the Lord the smarter wiser and awake you become. It’s beautiful. You’re such a beautiful soul. That’s why you’re so talented and you will continue to grow as your share your knowledge and gifts with the world.

Completely agree!! I’ve been working towards thinking about life (ie. finances, blessings, etc.) in regards to abundance and not scarcity. It can be a difficult mindset shift, especially if scarcity is all you’ve known, but I think it is necessary and totally worth it. Be open to all the blessings the Universe has to offer you.

Alicia, your book passage touched my soul. I have been reframing my thoughts because I own a small business. In the past, I have been given erroneous messages about money. Believing that to accumulate it is to be soulless, selfish, and greedy. Boy, was I wrong! As I continue to grow my business. I have changed my perspective. When we do not exercise the gift of abundance, we will surely become poor. To be poor is the lack of having something, not necessarily money. There are many rich people who are poor and there are many poor people who are rich. I have realized that to have abundance starts with a change of mindset as step 1. Once you realize that you have accumulated wealth in other ways. Then, step 2 happens, you find financial freedom.
Everytime i look at clothes over $20 my eyes get wide and I quickly turn over the price tag and walk away. I'm about to pursue a new career in finance that I have to dress business professional for and this mindset and reaction to me needs to change. Thank you for helping me get that out. I love you and hope you keep doing these passages! Thank you!
Did you know that buying expensive clothes is actually the most cost efficient way to live in the long run? Having a wardrobe of a few well-made pieces that go together means having clothes that will last you many years, instead of just a season. It also means that if you get bored of something, you can sell it and use that money to buy a replacement item instead of just throwing it in the trash or the goodwill pile. A good wardrobe pays for itself and is environmentally friendly. Of course, it takes awhile to build up a wardrobe of expensive items if you don't have much to spend on clothes in the first place. I began my journey of abundance mindset with clothes a few months back. I bought an expensive, well-made pair of pants because I said ya know what? the now me is worth it and so is the future me. I'm gonna buy another well-made piece in a few months when I can afford it :)

side note, designer clothes are hiding in goodwills and ebay. You just need to have a lookbook and keep a keen eye out for the good stuff.
@@Pielobyte I totally agree. I primarily shop at Thrifts, especially thrifts in “upscale neighborhoods” here in NYC. I’ve left the store with bags full of brand named items (some with original tags) for very, very cheap. I bought many professional clothing items that are “classy” and expensive, for a small fraction of the original price. Where ever you are.... find out where the “rich people” donate their clothing (and other items) and shop there. Lol. That’s not scarcity mindset. That’s being smart. Let your money work for you. Also, always use cash back apps, such as Rakutan, etc. which allows you to very easily earn cash back on both online and in store purchases at thousands of businesses. My income has risen significantly since I began shopping this way, but I still do it (shop wisely) because it makes sense. Thrifting is a very wise and fun way to shop and save. When I do go to the mall, etc.... I shop the clearance section AND use coupons/cash back app. Sometimes I use the cash back for small indulgences or donate to charities. Using money wisely should be fun.

** If you have a friend who is so comfortable financially but not a real and humble friend who nah believe you are equal to them, you will always feel broke around them, unless you have something real going on and they would help you with opportunity rather than sometimes paying for things. I'm trying to work out where that came from and I know it needs to change. So, I would have felt the same way, about the $ total and the belt! My life and my girls' lives will be affected by my thinking either way, so it's time to be intentional... Abundance versus scarcity is an important shift, but we need to lose the attachment of self- worth to material things and stop equating value with money. Ambundance is truth. And quoting the law of attraction took a turn... focusing on commodifying your worth, expands the idea that your worth can translate to a commodity. The instinct to put it all back was correct. Overpriced items are not intelligent regardless of your net worth, and your instincts were correct. Value for what you get.. quality, not brand, is worth paying for. Your music is high quality and so is your writing. You are a beautiful soul and thank you for sharing your wisdom and abundant gifts. Peace.

I love reading of your story and expanding on your book's one year anniversary! My story is growing up with little spending. My father made $129/week for decades and raised a family of 5 boys with 2 teen foster kids. We always had an abundance of creativity, love and food. I remember nice bicycles, NIkes and Addidas sports shoes and equipment. I got a Plymouth Duster from my dad as a college graduation, which was amazing. Thanks, dad!

Hey Alicia. You're right, it is deep. This is my biggest struggle thus far and I've fallen so many times. I definitely agree with you in terms of the mindset shift of thoughts switching over to abundance! I think the challenge for me is the constant reprogramming and recognizing the knowing that 'I am worthy'. It's easy to say all the things, positively etc but differentiating the negative from positive smoothly each time and arriving at this belief that you are capable has been like a dangling carrot 😳😕 It easier said than done.
You one hundred percent right, in having a tight fist because your thoughts are limited, and your minds bring scary thoughts of being scared of tomorrow. I met some rich people who were broke, and built back up to success. All because of their mind never was broke, just their pockets. Where I remember I used to take my money, when I felt it was pushing me too fast. Too fast in taking me out of my character. That I used to say to my money,to not forget how you got in my pocket, you did not make me, I made you. Therefore, when things came along I did not like what we were taking place. I show my money who still was in control, if you know what I mean, when you walk away from everything. See first we have to get the proper respect about life matter in order to build a life, which is not a broken economy. That at any time l coming one fantasy Island can crash without them knowing it was there for one to lose. We the American People live in the blind, while changes right in our fight we go on ignoring. That's the part I wish I was able to keep, but being curious stole that away from me.

The thing about you is that you are relatable. You never act like you are too much of a celebrity and too hard to live with other people under this umbrella called "the universe". A few years ago I saw a picture of you doing charitable work in Uganda! Keep on with that good energy you give off to all of us in the world.
Showed up on my feed when I am struggling with abundance thinking I healed those old beliefs but every day, I still spend money as if there won't be enough or isn't enough so I discount, put things back, doing shop...convinced myself I dont need more. Budget and make the exact amount to live, what I used to say, live comfortably but the reality is...I have blocked my own blessings and I have never be closer to losing it all while keeping myself small. Believe bigger. I can afford, I do deserve, I can create ANYTHING and do so quickly when I relinquish the scarcity mindset now. TY

Alicia through her own experiences is giving us sound advice - that we should not always deny ourselves the things and pleasures in life , especially if we have earned our rewards , while at the same time we should not live recklessly and waste all our monies . Its important that we should always have some measure of self control and know when to enjoy our money ( indulge ourselves ) and when to curb ouselves .The take-away for me is that the more we give the more we received which applies to all areas of our lives. Not only does she have a beautiful voice when she sings , but also a beautiful voice when she speaks , coupled with a beautiful personality. She is a beautiful human being.

I have to say I was and am in that mind set.
Sometimes the fear is great. But I have to keep it at bay. Poverty mentality is pressing down hard on alot the world. It’s foot on our necks it’s hand pressing down on our backs. Mammon is a real spirit, and left unchecked He can cripple you.

This was very helpful and on time. I’ve developed the scarcity mentality watching my single mom struggle to make ends meet. I’m growing and learning to trust that God is the source of all my needs and desires. That there is abundance.
I am so happy to see our whole collective shifting into abundance. Abundance is our birthright! Scarcity only exists in illusions of the human mind. Nowhere in nature does hoarding or scarcity exist. We are starting to realize this as a collective and the old oppressive systems are becoming obsolete as we claim our soveirgnty.

WOW! Just wow! I randomly seen this on my feed and watched it with awe! I’ve been working on healing my scarcity mindset with money and childhood trauma. Poverty mindset has hindered me. I started listening to your book, I love how you are mainly the narrator. This part in your book spoke to me so much and confirmed I’m on the right path of healing. My dad is an elder, I just recently lost my mom. With the passing of my mom, it’s like the flood gates of abundance and blessings just opened up. Before she passed away, she gave me her blessings. As harsh as it may sound, it’s like the passing of her helped open up my life for more to come. Though she never supported majority of what I did in my career, she did towards the end and told me to never feel bad for buying things that made me happy and I deserved it because I worked so hard for it all. My most expensive purchase was my singing bowls n I felt so bad for buying them but she saw how much joy it brought me. Thank you for this, Alicia. ❤️ many blessings to you.
My parents never really gave my siblings and I allowance and when we grew up we had to learn to manage our money on our own and it was a struggle for all of us Thanks for reading that to us Awesome 👏🏾
You ever observe how your parents managed money? My brother and I got 50 cents for pulling weeds. Not a whole lot of money, but it trained us to work regardless of how much money we were paid. Since then, and it could be my personality, I never overspend and always save.
Love this! Someone recently said that she isn't scared of losing opportunities or people because she always ends up with better... and that's the frequency I'm vibrating on atm.
Thank you for sharing this personal story. This concept is so difficult for me to understand. I have enough, but I am still living in a scarcity mindset. Prosperity mindset and a short story: While my father was adamant of paying tithes in church, there still seemed to be a scarity mindset within dynamics. BUT my dad would argue with mom. "Ginny we are paying tithes," because that was his belief. Reaping and sowing, regardless what the bank looked like (mom feared), my father had a knowing that we were provided for and we were. We never went without (it didn't seem like it to me).
Daddy was sick with cancer, then in chronic pain for years before his suicide. For 4 years... my mom worked, I worked during school breaks because I was preparing for college and they both wanted that for me. Studies and the value of learning to work for us was important perspective (actually? I did medical transcriptions from a younger age). Parents grew up poor. Dad the 4th oldest among 10 siblings.
"Angel, they jockey for position because it's what they learned. It had been - don't be last at the table or you don't eat. Fight for attention."
After family gatherings where I left in tears as a child,
"Honey, they don't know and it's not you."
I believe he knew how I felt. His father asked him, "why can't you just be like your older brothers?"
I was introduced to Deepak's 21 days abundance challenge last year and I appreciate this reminder. As I am making changes in my life, I needed to hear this.

Shifting from a mentality of scarcity (survival, fear, doubt, pain, defensiveness) to a mentality of abundance (trust, belief, self-esteem, giving others the benefit of the doubt, welcoming people into my life) has saved me, healed me from depression. I feel alive now. Living in abundance, embodying abundance, to me, is what life is about ... Freeing oneself from the shackles of our perceived lacks, not underestimating oneself anymore, giving oneself the space to IMAGINE without limits and actually believing that if we can imagine it, there is no way we cannot live it. I appreciate you sharing your wisdom with us so much, you embody grace, humility and abundance. A truly wonderful soul. I feel this so. I almost do not spend except at the Second Hand Shop or Marketplace. I love to give away. But when I finally spend my saving on braces - afraid later people would tell me I should save for basic needs- finally I felt so good that I did it. I did it. I deserved. I am almost 40!

Treading lightly on the earth means making ethical consumer choices and not falling prey to greed over need . Buy second hand is a beautiful way to honor the earth ! You are on the right track . And if you have been second hand shopping for years , you know that if you look hard you can find amazingly gorgeous stuff to dress for success .
I reflected on this so heavily today and thankful that I clicked on this video. I recently turned 27 and feel like my dream is slipping away. I often times feel lost and don't know what move to make next because I'm scared. This helped reestablish the notion that we're capable of making our dreams come true. I have a sticky note next to my desk that reads, "ONLY you CREATE the life you want!"
I never thought of hearing from u from the heart I see you as fresh water in a river that never stops the word flowed out of your mouth soothing sound of the calm ocean with measure I say that my understanding always good to hear from you. I do know my calling the bar it keeps going up I'm like okay it going to be a lil harder but every step of the way I. Grabbing all my resource to educate myself along the way father told me a long time ago I would be here I guess I always was running from it. Life is to prepare you for the next stage I put on the armor of the Father every second of the day.
