As someone who has made Zangetsu three times over for cosplay, I've gotta say you're the first one that I've actually seen do it justice along with being a convention safe prop. Thanks for making things like this. (This is so much easier than using pink insulation foam and sanding it down.)

Is there a pattern for this, I really love this sword and bleach.
He more or less just hand drew the design and he went. You can always find the full sized pepakura file and print that as a template though :)

@@sethstrattan7380 I'm sorry if this comes off as a "smart" comment, but you can usually just find it on google. Just gotta search Zangetsu Pepakura or Zangetsu papercraft.

I don't make things like this, but I always come back to the channel because I love seeing the processes other artists put into their work. The fact that this is Bleach is a bonus.

It's drawing is not inconsistent, you might have came across an upgraded version of Zangetsu that appears hundreds of chapters after it's first original appearance. The "Shikai" stage that you've based your work on has 3 versions.

I'd probably put some thin styrene sheets between the coated stakes and the edge of the blade (inbetween your layers) to give it some additional stiffness.
I made Hollow Zangetsu in high school wood shop. I saw another guy make Cloud’s Buster Sword.

Interesting bit of trivia about Ichigo's sword. It's based off of traditional Japanese chef knives, which are typically single sided. So only one side is actually angled to a point, and the other is flat (which actually makes the knives either left handed or right handed). It's a minor thing, but might have saved some time and been a *bit* more realistic.

I never thought of hockey tape, I used those fiberglass driveway markers you find at the dollar store some times to stiffen my last sword build but they never wanted to really stay in place so I'm totally gonna try the hockey tape next time around.
