For you. You like this music. I like this music. I think it's sick as hell. Other people like other music, stuff from before, stuff from after. That's not something _I_ have any problem with. Do you? Or do you find yourself in some way superior to those that listen to "lesser" music? There's certainly corporate crap today, but there always has been. But what always has been and always will be are people creating masterpieces. And the songs that no one really cares for, get forgotten. That's why most people think there wasn't any bad music "back then." Only the masterpieces are remembered, and like most artists that are household names, might not have even been known to their neighbors in their day. Go ahead and appreciate these classics. But don't drag them down with some superiority complex, please.
Edit: Sorry that I came on a little strong, now seeing that you really didn't. If I may mention, I'm just really tired of trying to enjoy this music only to get bombarded with people throwing massive amounts of baseless shade at anything more modern.
