I managed to snag a double perk’d one with dual loader and threat detector in the left column and trench barrel with 1-2 punch in the right. It has quickly become “fuck this enemy in particular” gun on my Titan
Saw someone say they got a double perk from turning in Engrams. Went through a TON of Battlegrounds (Both versions) the Time Trial thing & got nothing. Spammed a ton of Engrams at Failsafe, checked their Post Master & it was there. Not sure how truthful that is & if it did actually come from Failsafe & not missed from one of the activities!
Perfect paradox does drop from enigma protocol and it can indeed get double perks. Not lying. The one I got had an option of dual loader/pugilist and trench barrel/opening shot
It’s annoying that you can’t hold 9 shots even with backup mag because enhanced dual loader lets you load 3 shots at a time instead of 2. Going from 2/4/6/8 to 3/6/9 would’ve been perfect.
Are we positive it only loads 3? I know D2Foundry says its only 3 but I have enhanced dual loader on my Timeworn Wayfarer and it loads 4 per. Edit: I just upgraded one for science and it 100% only loads 3

Currently hunting the double roll of pugilist field prep and 1-2 punch trench. Field Prep 1-2 for maximized high damaged punching. Pugilist Trench for fun slaying out and just dealing some shotgun damage. The origin Trait really makes this gun and breach light specifically. Both are stellar for melee and in the fray type builds.

I like field prep trench on song of flame warlock. If you DONT put on the overflow seasonal augment. You get a full free 8 rounds per snap. With dawn chorus you get a snap back every 3 shots. It's nutty. Actually does insane dmg
Also, Perfect Paradox has Base 7 shots and max is 8 !!! Means if you have Appended Mag, Tactical Mag or Extended Mag you don't need Backup Mag at all! Same the other way around, if you play Backup Mag you don't have to use any of these 3 magazine perks Means you can play Light Mag instead, if you only have Mag increases you can play quick access sling instead
He didn't even mention the awesome new perk in the 1st column, Threat REMOVER. I have this roll with 1 2 punch and it's AMAZING!!! Considering how fast it shoots tho trench barrel may be better for synergy. My point being I can get 3 shots off with auto trigger in settings b4 being able to throw in a melee...😅
The origin trait is tempting with the artifact mod, but I still can't let go of my original drop with Demolitionist in column 3 and the choice between OTP and Trench Barrel in column 4. It was one of the few sunset weapons I kept.
Ran enigma protocol last night a few times and got 2 to drop, both with double perks. Best combo on one had pugilist and vorpal, other had slideshot or dual loader with vorpal
Sword breaker is still the king of primary pve shotguns for melee builds (so if you’re using 1-2 punch). Its strand so it actually synergizes with a subclass/super. It’s lightweight so it makes you faster and the origin trait is amazing for melee shotguns builds. Perfect paradox is a good shotgun. It can get the best rolls for PvE. But it’s not better for than a preexisting craftable shotgun that is available in the easiest and most accessible D2 raid (imo).
As far as trench barrel shotguns until it's return from season of the deep in my opinion was the best with enhanced overflow and trench barrel works wonders when there's a strand surge kills champs in about 2 shots
I think it pairs best with something like Bonk hammer or combination blow, because you can infinitely proc radiance on boss/majors to increase your damage while cycling your trench barrel, you take forever to run out of ammo, and stuns if you go Bonk hammer. I used the curated for most of my GM nightfalls this week ( I did somewhere between 30-40 this week) and it was tearing shit up, definitely S tier IMO. I will say though dual loader is pretty much useless, the ONLY time it ever came into play is when I ran out of ammo completely and wanted to load the 8 before starting the punch shoot cycle after picking bricks up

Y'know, for pvp, Bungie really needs to just lean into the entire point of rapidfire frames. They balance them around the two-shot. So... lean into that. Let them have double the ammo economy of other shotties, like a glaive. Maybe nerf the damage slightly so they can't one shot if necessary.. if you're already balancing around the two-shot, then REALLY balance around that, instead of just dancing around that line and leaving them in this awkward spot where they can one shot but almost never will and they can two-shot really fast from some long range but they never have the ammo to do so.
I'm not sure if Enigma Protocol is bugged but I didn't get any double perks to drop since Perfect Paradox became available. During Act 1, I was getting dual perks on Breachlight, Patron of Lost Causes, and Line in the Sand. Act 2 hasn't been dropping any dual perks...not for me at least. Good luck w/ that RNG guardians.
You don’t need to consciously crouch if you slide during/after kills. Yeah, you gotta train the muscle memory, but if you’re gonna use a shotty it’s not a bad practice in general.

Reminder that 1-2 Punch does not work with any ranged or slide special melees. That’s most Warlock and Hunter melees, as well as Consecration. If you want to use Perfect Paradox in a build with ranged melees, go for Trench Barrel instead.

Haha been looking into this for years chap! I can tell you that this is my main build for story and seasonal activities and I love it. I run BXR with it and it’s Halo+ I’ve been rocking a Wastelander with trench barrel and pugilist for years and Perfect paradox just replaced it.

*I can confirm that One -Two Punch DOES NOT work with Consecration because when you slide then shoot, you turn off consecration and thus do the normal melee. Big shame.*
Man I was on my warlock yesterday playing straight solar with speakers helm. I was using celestial fire as my melee and when I popped my song of flame my supers melee was that weak ass celestial fire? I was like where the hell did my song of flame melee go?
Very rare that the shotgun is getting the kill in a OTP setup. Most of the time the melee after the shot is getting the kill. pugilist isnt as valuable imo. threat detector is the move.

As someone who primarily plays pve dual loader/swashbuckler seems to be the ideal route to go.
Threat remover is actually kinda nice tho

Haha been looking into this for years chap! I can tell you that this is my main build for story and seasonal activities and I love it. I run BXR with it and it’s Halo+ I’ve been rocking a Wastelander with trench barrel and pugilist for years and Perfect paradox just replaced it.
So... who's gonna tell the person providing the background gameplay that Warlocks only have a single melee in the whole game that actually works with One-Two Punch?

If you use it fot pvp, go for slideshot first shot 🤷🏻♂️
*I can confirm that One -Two Punch DOES NOT work with Consecration because when you slide then shoot, you turn off consecration and thus do the normal melee. Big shame.*

Man I was on my warlock yesterday playing straight solar with speakers helm. I was using celestial fire as my melee and when I popped my song of flame my supers melee was that weak ass celestial fire? I was like where the hell did my song of flame melee go?

Very rare that the shotgun is getting the kill in a OTP setup. Most of the time the melee after the shot is getting the kill. pugilist isnt as valuable imo. threat detector is the move.
