July 18, 2021 marked the 40th anniversary of thrash metal pioneers ANTHRAX. The celebration began in May of last year and culminated on July 16/17 with a global Livestream event shot at the Los Angeles soundstage/studio The Den.
For two-plus hours, Anthrax performed an extensive set of hits and deep cuts pulled from their vast catalog. Today, Anthrax announces that the entire performance, plus never-before-seen rehearsal footage and Scott Ian’s New York City “walking tour,” pointing out the spots that played a role in Anthrax’s formation and history, will be released in North America on July 15 on Blu-Ray and Digital (Megaforce).
“Anthrax XL" will also have a European Digital release on July 15 (Nuclear Blast), followed by a Blu-Ray release later this year.

I mean, not an entirely inaccurate statement. watching a band like Murphys Law have fun against watching these old bloated cock-rockers (the glam bands basically. not Thrax of course!) lip sync the classics is night and day

I first saw anthrax with exodus and helloween, headbangers ball. Maybe '88. Paramount, seattle. I had never heard of them and i never heard music so thunderous. The building was thumping hard, I'll never forget. That double bass was awesome! The building was rattling. Outside the sound was crazy. And long before that i saw maiden accept yng and twisted sister there and it wasn't like anthrax. Then slayer, fear factory, Kilgore!!! Then joe rogan :)

You seem to like it quite a lot more than I do, but I do think " Spreading the disease" was the best Anthrax album. They sound absolutely great here! Big love for Anthrax.
