Black Orchid is one of my favourite 5th Doctor adventures. It’s a nice quiet little runaround for the characters between The Visitation and then the epic Earthshock! And gives Sarah Sutton a time to shine! Series 19 has always been a firm favourite of mine!

I’m a Dr Who fan, from the classic Drs to erm… half way through Matt Smith, but with the best will in the world, this is subpar. Sod it, I’m rewatching genesis of the daleks.

So underrated
I remember the novelisation of this story, and it implied that the Doctor could be hanged for murder, and as his companions, Adric, Nyssa and Tegan would be seen as accomplices and join the Doctor on the gallows.
I was a 12 year old boy when Sarah Sutton started playing Nyssa on Doctor Who in 1981 when she was 19 years old. I had extremely powerful romantic feelings for her after Lalla Ward left the show. Now as a 53 year old man I'm back in love with her as Nyssa. I want to bring Nyssa into our world. I have been working on the kind of symbol font computer program that can actually do that with the Doctor Who Nyssa action figure or figurine!!!
