I mix 1 drop of jojoba oil with foundation before applying it. I do the same with my concealer. The result is amazing, changes everything for my dry skin. The foundation becomes SILKY (no matter which one) and does not migrate at all.❤️

@@skyzmer3470 I use cold pressed jojoba oil that's the most important thing if you want to use jojoba oil 😊🌺. I give you the brand but I'm not sure you can find it in your country, I think it's German : Hagners Original.
This is great advice! Thank you 🤗❤. I use oil after my “routine, and before my sunscreen and foundation, but notice my skin loses its hydrated look AND feel, even though I’m using non-drying versions of both products. I will try this!
I think the foundation shade looks great, no weird yellow or pink undertone. I don't think it looks too dark, at least not from my perspective. Maybe it's different in person.
I must be the only pale dry girl that True Match doesn't work for - its always been too drying/patchy and I prefer a skin looking base - also I'm so pale most foundations are too yellow. I have one holy grail now and I'm crossing my fingers it never goes away. I do appreciate all of your efforts bringing us all these new products. I'm sure your skin must suffer slightly so thank you for putting yourself thru it all for us.

The original one didn't work for my dry skin, either 🤷🏻♀️ I'm considering trying the new Revlon one, but for now I'm pretty happy with No7 Lift & Luminate or Nars mixed with the LA Girl blue stuff to take down the yellow. I'm a redhead with cool, pink undertones, so I hear ya on the yellow issue. But that blue stuff is fantastic for cooling down the yellow foundations! So what's your current HG?

I'm so pale too, hate trying to find foundation. This didn't work for me either, I found it too dry and hard to blend and I don't even have dry skin!
This foundation never worked for me either. I have dry/mature skin with a neutral undertone and couldn't find a decent match and it looked/felt very drying on me. The new Revlon Illuminance foundation is beautiful on dry skin and the shades are very light on the pale end of the spectrum. I'm in the light range but when buying mine, I was surprised to see how fair they went with this one. Revlon also tends to have more pink/cool undertones especially in the lighter shades.
I agree that lighter foundation shades tend to accentuate everything. I usually try to find shades that are a tinge deeper if I can't get an exact match. As for the shade you chose, I don't think it's too dark at all. The undertone is spot on!
Me too! I always go a half shade to full shade darker.
Love Loreal foundations, all of them. Must try this, but your skin is flawless already! AND THE CAT THE CAT THE CAT...WHAT A STUNNER.

This review came out at the perfect time. I am almost out of my original formula which I love. I noticed that my original formula has thickened dramatically from its original (probably due to the dropper dispenser, so yea for the new pump dispenser). Your positive review has encouraged me to stay with Loreal and repurchase. Thank you Shelly.

Your whole make up looks so nice and I love, love your hair, so cool!😍 actually that shade seemed to be a perfect match, at least I could not even see the color difference when you were placing it all over your face and less when you were blending it. It really looked as if you were not wearing any foundation, it blended perfectly. Maybe there is a difference between how one sees it in the video and in person.
The foundation seems to be gorgeous, your skin looked so flawless and soft...I hope it is not one of those products that do not get sold in Europe because, well, I kind of feel like I need it in my life 🥰😁

It might just be your lights, but this looked like a very good color match for you....not too dark on camera, at least. I was surprised to see this on Amazon with 43 shades listed and came onto CZcams to see if it was any good. Perfect timing! I'm going to try out C1 since your swatches are always awesome at figuring out what shade I need. Thanks for being so consistent with those comparisons! Mannnnnn, when you said just when you figure out your skincare regimen and find your perfect makeup routine -- bam! It all changes and you have to start figuring it out all over again. Turning 46, suddenly everything went off-kilter for me and I'm in the same boat! My perfectly curated "holy grail products" for some reason perform horribly now even though nothing visibly significant has changed. What the heck happened?? Lol
I just bought it and love it. I have combination skin. I didn’t like the old formula, although I had the wrong shades, C2 and C2.5. I bought the new formula in N2 and it’s a good match.

I wear studio fix nw 15 and this in that 2.5 shade , 120 ivory in Maybelline, 2w1 dawn in double wear, 160 neutral in Haus , 4,0 fawn in tom Ford, I'm all over the place! That shade looks good on you!

I’ve noticed that I’m going just a shade darker with my foundation too. The lighter just accentuates my wrinkles and texture more.
I think this foundation looks great on you. The old True Match has been a go to of mine for years. When they reformulated I was concerned it wouldn't be as good. Glad to see it's just as good if not better. Thanks for the review.
I'm always nervous too! I think this one is for the better! It was a B+ in the original formula for me - I liked it, but this one performs just a bit better!

I Like The New Formula!
I’ve used the original version off and on for years, but I thought it sometimes looked dry so I started mixing it with Missha BB cream and it was perfection! I bought the new formula and I like it a lot better because I can wear it alone and it’s still not dewy, but not dry looking either so I’m very happy.

Yep, u are so right about getting your makeup routine down and then your face changes. I turned 40, two years ago. And soon as I did I noticed a few new lines and the texture of skin had changed. I just felt ewww. lol! I'm actually still trying to figure out what foundation I like. Half the time I just use a little blush and the I do my eyes and use a little lip balm.
I turned 41 this year and my new holy grail is L'oreal Age Perfect Serum Foundation. Skin is drier than it used to be and it makes my skin look Dewey and beautiful
It used to not have a pump, so it's indeed a selling point! 😂 It's the only reason I'm considering trying it again, because the pour out bottle it used to come in really annoyed me.

The reformulated colors are certainly better than the old ones. If you are fair or light neutral with any olive, no L’Oreal color is ever right without some tinkering with tints. At least this range is less orange in every shade.
May i ask you something? Is it just me or do you notice that this foundation contains a bit of shimmer in it?

I don't think I've ever formally reviewed the True Match Lumi but I wore it a ton early on! It's a thumbs up from me.

There is definitely a shade difference from the new vs old formula. I have both in the same shades and the difference is pretty substantial!

True Match has a great shade range. I'm 41, fair & neutral, but N1 makes me look dead. I always go with W1. Maybe I should just go a half a shade darker. Cool shades oxidize orange-ish on me. I've stuck with the more yellow undertones because they neutralize my redness. I'm not sure if True Match actually does have warmer undertones since I'm neutral and I wear W1.
When you’re next back in Ireland, try the liquid highlight or liquid blush by ‘Sculpted’- by Aimee (Irish brand). It’s a pretty good drugstore dupe here for the Charlotte Tilbury 😊

I'm here mainly for the Ziva butt! just kidding, but loooove Ziva. True Match has been my main foundation choice for many years now, I do have to say I add a small drop of rosehip oil when applying it, because my skin got drier with age. I can't wait to try this new formula, big like for the video!

Welcome, Claire! My highest rated foundation ever (the only 100% score I've ever given) is the Nars Light Reflecting Foundation, which I love. But anything graded A- or higher is likely something in regular rotation for me! Oddly enough I've stopped taking primer onto my nose and that seems to help, though I have issues with it staying on my nose as well.
@Geek Out of Water I don't use primer if I'm honest. Its like I dab or smooth my foundation on with a sponge or kabuki brush and it just doesn't seem to take on my nose it ☹️
I have always had problems getting my nose to take foundation in the first place. From my late teens with Combination T-zone skin, right through to Dry skin and 61 years old---but nowhere as bad as with the T-Zone. I remember being 19 and standing at the Clinique counter and the clerk pretty much giving up as well, as foundation simply didn't want to cover my nose.
Eventually, I must have read an article in Cosmo or Glamour and my trick was to a buy a natural sea sponge (they used to sell them in the drug store makeup department) and wet it, squeeze it out in a paper towel, and use the natural sponge to apply my foundation. Back then everybody just used their fingers. Ten to twenty years later people started using sponge wedges--which I didn't "get" at all. Using a damp-dry natural sponge was the key at the time to helping me get foundation to attach to my nose and I used it for the rest of my face. There was a small learning curve to it, but it really used to help to set my foundation for 16-hour days along with COTY AIR-SPUN Translucent Powder.
I HOPE this works for you and I am not leading you into some makeup house of horrors!

@karenJane Hillyer I was just looking for reviews on CZcams pertaining to applying makeup with a sea sponge. They were, with the exception of one, all awful! So proceed with caution. Lol! I am thinking with my nose, I had to really load the sponge and work it out from there--I think I also used my fingers to smooth the rest of the product on my face. There weren't any primers at the time. Even today...it takes a lot of stippling with a brush or pouncing with a blender with extra product...sitting back and waiting 30 seconds or so, and then going back in and blending it out. I did see on CZcams an Eastern Indian woman who's solution is to use hairspray on the beauty tool in the process of application and setting.
Actually, there was one thing that helped me--I found this little tube of gel by Coty in the makeup section in the early 90's at Target only when I could find it--and would apply a little dab to my nose. THAT worked. It had to be some sort of a primer and the tube was shaped like a book of matches. It was a precious commodity! But hit or miss in availability.

I just saw that we got this in at work. I’m curious because I don’t know if I ever tried the original. I do like that they put a pump on it now. I just wish that on the drugstore side of my store that more of them would do testers so people stop opening them! People do not open make up when there is no tester because we have to destroy that stuff 😢 and that means if we only have two of them and we have to destroy one of them, then that’s one less product for somebody.
Yep and there isn't much more gross than getting home after you bought makeup at the drugstore and realizing you grabbed one that was already opened. I cringe at the thought of strangers putting their grubby paws in my makeup.
Love this fondation. A tip for your chin, try the spray net technique from Smitha Deepack she’s an Indian CZcamsr . It’s something. Love your kitty. They’re the best. 😊

This foundation mixed with L'Oreal age perfect is the BEST Satin Finish Buildable to Full Coverage foundation that literally I've ever used.... I used True Match Foundation ONLY for 19 years and I have combo dehydrated skin and melasma as well 😔 I stick to what I like.... Best foundation ever is L'OREAL TRUE MATCH FOUNDATION & NEXT IS L'OREAL AGE PERFECT... MIXING THE TWO IS PERFECT.... I use IT cosmetics bybye under eye concealer and LA Girl og concealer....for primers I use Elf Hydro Grip for outer parts of my face and the L'OREAL MAGIC PERFECTING BASE Primer.... Then I use Elf Halo Glow Powder to lightly set....If u want your makeup to last and look AMAZING! That combo is literally a God Sent Recipe For Perfect Neutral Satin Finish Skin.... Long Wearing.... @Crystal Henderson I can sleep on my back, but who can resist curling up on their side? And I do it on purportedly the worst side for one's body--the right side!!! Worse, while I was bedridden with CF & sleeping on my right side, the eyelashes on my right eyelid grew in facing my nose. NOTHING would straighten them, except growing them out. Maybe an eyelash perm may have helped, but it wasn't in the budget.

I switch from my right to left side. I have sacroilitis snd I’m sure something else going on in my back that I need to get checked but if I sleep on my I just end up in so much pain 😩 but also it is so comfortable to lay on ur side.
You can use satin pillow cases. Your hair will look nice when you wake up and it prevents wrinkles

Hi Shelley it looked good on you (just a little too dark compared to your neck and hands - the hands thing is so obvious all over youtube, as so many youtubers wear a darker foundation for filming lol). The finish on the skin was good and it held up well. I tried the original true match several years ago in the lightest cool toned shade and it looked dry on me, so it was a bust. I might try this one if it makes it to the UK and I can get a shade match. I'm rotating about three foundations right now, so I'm not really needing a new one lol. Ziva wanted attention so badly poor thing and she looks so much like Louie (who we lost in December 2021) that she always makes me a little nostalgic/happy/sad all at the same time. Best wishes.

Did this always come in a bottle? In that case having a pump is great. I used C1 in my late 20's/early 30s but my skin has changed so much the past 10 years this probably won't work. It was my go to and tbh it with the bouncy gel blush I looked amazing back then 😂 Now the only thing working is the purido cc. I may try it again though, looked nice on you.
Oooooh the Purito is so nice - similar finish. Maybe a smidge more dewy, the Purito is - but if you like the Purito this one is similar enough that I don't think you'd need both!

Is this similar to the Haus Labs foundation in terms of smoothing and finish?
I would say this is just a smidge more dewy than the Haus but similar in the finish in terms of smoothing/blurring. If you already have Haus, I don't think you'd need both due to similarity, but if you're choosing between the two, I think you'd be happy either way.

I'd say the Dior Backstage feels a little bit more lightweight and a little bit less dewy of a finish.

I'm thinking it might be the other way around - I'm guessing that since L'Oreal is out of France, EU/UK gets dibs on the new releases first so you might actually have gotten it sooner than the US and we're just getting it now.

I'm not quite as humid here in Virginia but the original formula of this one holds up great for me in the summer so my guess is this one will too.
How does this compare to the Loreal Age Perfect Radiance?
They're similar - here's my review of the Age Perfect - czcams.com/video/8V50-LQ48Lo/video.html - I'd say the Age Perfect is a little bit more dewy of a finish (I often have to set it with powder, particularly in warm months) where the True Match is more of a satin. Both wear 12 hours on me without a problem and both smooth texture and blur pores on me. I have a better shade match in the True Match as they have more shade options. Both are light to medium coverage. The Age Perfect has SPF where the True Match doesn't. If you have one and like it I don't think you'd need both due to their similarities, and I don't think you can go wrong either way. They both earned high-A scores from me.
