    I did the tape mod on the buttons of my RG35XXSP. It really did work well. My buttons are Much quieter. I used Kapton tape instead of electrical. I would look into that. It even made the buttons feel more responsive. I loved my SP. Still do. I felt right at home with this device immediately.

      Oh I didn't know about this tape mod. Thanks for the comment 😄 I love this handheld as well. At first nah but it really grew on me

      I used thin felt sheet cut into squares. The same felt they use on 3d printed grip fory my miyoo mini plus.

      I bought from amazon and anbernic direct. The one from amazon came with little felt pads on the L1 R1 triggers, volume, and power buttons, the one from anbernic direct didn't. The amazon one came with 2 screen protectors.

    This is my first Anbernic too! Mostly impressed hardware-wise so far, but the CPU does get pretty hot and using the battery to sink its heat is an… unusual design. Not sure if there was a reasonable change they could've made to the design other than a cooler-running chip though. Otherwise, though, the buttons feel good, if a little loud, and the form factor feels like what I wish the GBA SP actually felt like.
    I think the stock software is *glacially* slow, even if performance is generally fine. I switched to muOS the same day I got it, which is much snappier and nicer.

    I’m pretty sure for N64 at least for Retroarch you can hold R2 and press the face buttons you get proper C-Button controls but I’m not sure that’s the case for every CFW.

    MuOS makes this thing so snappy and better in my personal motto is just because it can run things like N64 doesn't mean you should. There are other means to do that in a more effective way

    • @RetroGamerReviews
      @RetroGamerReviews  Před 2 měsíci

      100% agree. You shouldn't go into it with things like N64 in mind if you ask me . MuOS is something I'm seriously considering but being this is my first experience with anbernic I'm genuinely impressed

      @@RetroGamerReviews it took me a few days to set up and dial everything in to my liking (particular larger box art than most guides will instruct you to do. @RetroGamerReviews that's great, though it won you over. That means you are truly enjoying it. My only question now would be how well will it work with an Elgato? I have the one that's hooked to my computers motherboard.

    I really wanted to have this because I never had a sp before but my worry is the buttons on this, is it that too stiff?

    • @RetroGamerReviews
      @RetroGamerReviews  Před 2 měsíci +3

      I genuinely don't know what people are complaining about with the buttons. The complaint is they are slightly taller then the original sp buttons and clicky but personally after playing with this and then the sp I rather squishy and unresponsive. So take me word with a grain of salt BUT if you ask me this is genuinely a great product to buy. My first impressions when I saw the unit weren't great but after really taking time to play with it I love the feel of it and personally I find the buttons to be fine. I apologize for the long comment but this is my response.

  • @Zedisdeadbaby666
    @Zedisdeadbaby666 Před 2 měsíci +4

    It's not. 70$ for low end performance, loud buttons, no analog sticks, the thing is getting hot and for a flip device it's too bulky. It's a well done rushed attempt.

    • @thepenultimateninja5797
      @thepenultimateninja5797 Před 2 měsíci +6

      I think it depends what you want to use it for.
      The first SP style device we learned about was the (still yet to be released) Miyoo Flip.
      My first thought when I saw the leaked images was that I was disappointed that it had analog sticks, and I resolved to only buy it if they were easy to remove.
      I don't think analog sticks would even be much use on this form factor. The Miyoo ones are right at the bottom, and my hands cramp up just looking at them.
      Put them higher up, and now you've compromised the position of the D-pad instead.
      I think this device is squarely in the 16 bit era,, and possibly PS1 for short sessions. It's plenty powerful enough for that.

      @RetroGamerReviews  Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@thepenultimateninja5797are you dumb? Why would you want to have analog sticks on an sp clamshell device? There's literally retroid pocket flip for that, go get that

    • @janX9
      @janX9 Před 2 měsíci +4

      Analog sticks on this would be silly being an SP clone. Think how "Bulky" it would be with analogue sticks.
      It's much easier to hold than the original SP due to it's slightly bigger in size. Or bulky as you say. Less hand cramping.
      Got mine for $87 CAD (63 USD) Worth it.
      EDIT: I don't see how this is a "Low end device"😕 🤔
      I would consider all the Anbernic XX models to be *Mid Range Devices.* The Specs are pretty decent for emulating approximately 75% of consoles that _can be_ emulated.

    • @RetroGamerReviews
      @RetroGamerReviews  Před 2 měsíci +3

      Omg it's so much nicer to hold other then the original sp. I've fallen in love with this thing.
