As part of the administration’s bid to revitalize Pasig River and make it a prime hub for recreation and tourism, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. inaugurated Phase 1C of the Pasig River Urban Development Showcase Area at Plaza Mexico, Magallanes Drive in Intramuros, Manila on Sunday.
Accompanied by First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, the President introduced to the public the new attraction in the 25-kilometer development project, which is part of the ongoing “Pasig Bigyang Buhay Muli” project.
Phase 1C introduced a one-story structure with a roof deck along the Pasig River, featuring a three-meter wide walkway flanked by leasable commercial spaces at the ground level and a combination of a walkway, bike lane and viewing area on the roof deck.
It will encompass over 30 commercial stalls equipped with modern amenities, including sewage treatment, individual electric and water meters, fire protection and public restrooms.
The structures will use renewable energy and promote other ecological practices aligned with the environmental protection and conservation strategies of the government.
Marcos said he envisions the famed waterway to become among the world’s famous places for rest and recreation and the pride of Filipinos.
“After decades of neglect, let us witness the revitalization of our beloved Pasig River. A river that will look and feel like the famous waterways across the world, and that we see the Seine in Paris, the [River] Thames in London, the Chao Phraya in Bangkok,” Marcos said.
Pasig River, according to the President, “reflects the unyielding resolve and bayanihan (cooperation) spirit of the Filipinos.”
“Bringing the Pasig River back to life mirrors our ongoing journey towards a brighter future for our country. How well we do here will reflect our efforts in other areas of the country and how successful we are at improving and leaving the country a better place than we found it,” Marcos said.

❤❤❤ #PBBM
Not an Anak ng Pasig but this goes to show that the Pasig River is starting to get better again!
Sobrang ganda nun
I hope ma maintain ang security/cleanliness not only the esplanade but also the toilet surroundings of esplanade and maybe cctv.
Great to see and being part of history
This is a worthy project, to beautify this part of Intramuros, years ago you wouldn't dare to venture into this part because it's not safe. Hope this will extend both ways, to Sta. Cruz area on one end, to Fort Santiago on the other end. And pls. maintain the security of this and sorrounding areas as well and people will surely come.
Sana maging point of pride na sa mga kapwa Manilenos and start taking care of our River and our city. Never to go back sa polluting our natural resources. Let's go kabayans!
Ang ganda hindi tinipid ang project ❤
Beautiful 👏👏👏🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
maganda sana if all the buildings along pasid river shall be required to put LEDS in their respective buildings' facade that will add up vibrant along pasig river at night, and this can be a tourism event at night, a floating restaurant can operate at night and for special occasions such birthday party in the boat along pasig river. The Post office , immigration Office should have LED lights as well.
Ganda ng cam🤍
Wow!
There’s an ongoing new trend in european architecture right now (primarily in berlin, vienna, budapest) in which in this cities they are rebuilding their dull cold war-era structures back into their imperial image. Hopefully there will be a joint initiative between the govt and the private sector to rebuild those establishments in intramuros just behind this esplanade as they seem to be not in sync with what the walled city has to offer. I’m wishing that they will revive a third church at least, particularly the old sto domingo church where it was supposed to be sitting on that bpi building’s location
This is how Manila looked like pre WW2.
I am currently live in Hsinchu City and I live in Paris in the 2016 until 2020 due of COVID I return in Taiwan and run my french pastry shop. I am born as Filipina originated from Pampanga. Now I am selling my pastry shop wanted to move the business in Manila. I have not seen Manila for 2 decades. Hopefuly in the name of Jesus Christ hope the pastry chef who is interested on my store/shop will take over that I can start my life again back home for good. I am so proud of our country it takes like a baby steps to improve Philippines
Very nice. I just hope that people will take care of it, and the government will maintain it properly.
Thanks for the latest update provided.
Ganda good job admin❤
I hope they will lay polymeric sand or cobblestone or any aesthetic finish on the walkway to attract more tourists and locals, provide a big washroom/restroom, and install a bike racks so cyclists won't bring their bicycles up the walkways. Also, prevent peddlers and beggars from operating along the esplanade.
Ganda Ng project ni FL Liza and BBM
Mabuhay Po kau
Ewww mhiya nman kyo ..khit pano paslamat nrin Kay bbm itinuloy nya
@@user-xk1cw1hq3kwalang contribution si duterte sa project na yan. It only started when PBBM signed EO 35.

Been there last May 24, ok nmn yung actual dstance.
Wag muna. Ang panget pa nito. Tignan mo yung ilog.

EO35 #PasigBigyangBuhayMuli. The revitalization of the 25-kilometer stretch of the Pasig River is an ambitious project that promises to bring tremendous benefits to the area. While it will take three years to complete, I am already exultant about what this project will bring. Along the river, each city will showcase unique and captivating architectural designs, including the stunning Marcos Park in the Rizal area. This project will not only create jobs and spawn businesses, but it will also significantly boost tourism, increase transportation income, and provide unparalleled leisure opportunities. All of this is made possible through the leadership of none other than President Marcos, working hand-in-hand with FL Liza, in the form of Executive Order #35. Together, they are ushering in a new era of progress and prosperity in the area.
Look like Chao Praya River in Thailand.
Hopefully the government has budgeted enough for its long term maintenance. What will this place look like in 10, 15, 20 years? Maraming government projects ang tumataob after several years due to lack of long term maintenance budget.
I hope that later, vendors and commercial stalls, will not be allowed along the length of the esplanade.
Ganda but something is seriously wrong. ATTENTION PBBM -stagnant water on the walkway and upper deck. Surely they have thought about this during the design and construction. It’s not only hazards to people, it will also make the structure deteriorate faster.
If they made the floors inclined by a few degrees towards the riverside, the water would simply flow towards that side to the floor drainage. I saw the first face that has been completed January has the same problem. That’s a shame, 🫤sayang ganda pa nman.
Fact: It was the same architect who did the Iloilo River Esplanade.
But that channel NEVER yet visiting the City of Love. 😔
Hope you could do the same in paranaque...
My concern to lighting projects such as this is the added electricity cost that will be shouldered most probably by the LGU.
I hope all future lighting projects would be solar powered so the bills can instead be spent to other projects like housing or services.
solar powered fixtures is the answer.
Hello. Can you make a video on how to go to sm moa to smx convention center pls.
More boats for tourist..
Ayy sayang di pala mahaba, maikli lng pala malalakad sayang Naman!
#NoToPasigRiverExpressway!
Its so dark in that part. I hope they light it up even more coz holdapers may use it as their hiding place
Sana ang quality ng workmanship a may nakatutok during construction. Engr. Arch. Pag may time. Sayang effort & design nyo.
nagpunta me jan near Binondo-Intramuros bridge last month, ambaho ng ilog. Mabaho pa rin ba today?
Hindi naman. Wala ako naamoy na mabaho today or even yung nag open ito nung January. 😃
Puede pumasok jan
Na my kasama bike
Imagine may skyway sa ilog! Haha #NoToParex
🤍
Malinis yan lalo ung meyor vico namomono jan panatiliin malinis yan
A stagnant water ,workmanship is not at par, I hope they finish with high quality job, 08:35
Not yet done, for sure they will fix that
Bat may mime?
💦💦💦 Wow!! This was the blue print projects during the admin of former Pres.Rodrigo R. Duterte to buil, build more projects, in cooperation of former ex mayor Isko Moreno & current mayor Maam Honeylet, with the efforts of our beloved Local Government Officials & the incumbent Pres. PBBM who is continuing this planned projects since years ago. This is another Local & international TOURISTS Spots in the country. 💦💦💦MABUHAY PHILS.🇵🇭🇺🇸
Hahaha.
Thank God at nanalo si PBBM and under EO 35, nagkaroon tayo ng Pasig Bigyang Buhay Muli project, funded by the private sector.
😂😂😂😂 talaga ba???
wow! such a nice place to walk and enjoy the smelly and dirty asss river! LMAO
Haters gonna hate!
Been there
