After snarky youth Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin) loses track of his father at the airport, he mistakenly gets on a plane headed for New York City -- while the rest of the McCallisters fly to Florida. Now alone in the Big Apple, Kevin cons his way into a room at the Plaza Hotel and begins his usual antics. But when Kevin discovers that the Sticky Bandits (Joe Pesci, Daniel Stern) are on the loose, he struggles to stop them from robbing an elderly man's toy store just before Christmas.

“You can mess with a lot of things, but you can’t mess with kids on Christmas.”
Legendary line.
Best line for me.
Perfectly describes why Kevin is so much more violent in this movie
Had it been Halloween, Kevin would have been like, "Screw those kids, I've got candy to collect!"
"Merry Christmas, you filthy animal......And a Happy New Year." Best quote ever in this movie especially that scene.
I forgot how funny that scene was! 😂😭
I agree that hotel room confrontation was hilarious
@@BaileeFerguson64 funny scene Woman looks at Kevin like No problem kid as she walks with her Black Purse 🤣
That's my favorite line!!!
Fun fact there's a amazing theory that Kevin grows up and changes his name to John cramer and becomes the jigsaw killer from saw
Everyone: "Kevin is a sadist."
Also everyone: *laughs at Harry and Marv getting tortured* 🤣
Always dude.
Before you think of the Jigsaw theory, when does this movie take place and when does Saw take place? The theory goes straight out the window if you think about it.
Violence is sometimes HILARIOUS though 🤷🏻♀️😅
I have such a soft spot for Home Alone 2. It may repeat some things from the original, but I love the NYC setting, the traps are absolutely brutal, and Tim Curry is a national treasure. I watch it along with the first one every Christmas season.
Me too.
I forget who said it, but somebody said that the second one is better because the stakes are higher. Kevin isn't defending his own house this time, he doesn't have neighbors or anything to back him up just in case, like he does back in Chicago, and New York City has a "gritty" vibe to it anyway. Plus, Harry and Marv already know what he looks like. Also, fairly or not, I argue he gets *himself* lost this time rather than his parents, by being so obsessed with the batteries for his Talkboy. So, he has much more to lose in the second one.
Yes. Way better than the first movie, in my opinion. Very well done. All the feels. Funny af and emotional af.
“KEVIN! YOU SPENT $967 ON ROOM SERVICE?!”
😂😂😂 I love that finishing line
(Gasping and Running 🏃♂️ away)
Crazy amount for room service, especially in the 90s, but it seems odd that the dad would get that mad about it since he seems to be insanely wealthy with the house they have and paying for vacations for so many people etc.
I was honestly surprised by only $967 bucks dude.
@@koriignace89-25-movielover inflation
@@koriignace89-25-movieloveryeah but combine that with how much they're also charging for the suite too.(which probably ain't cheap either)
That Skeleton scene has to be one of the funniest gags ever, it was utterly funny
It's funny now, but as a little kid, it scared the shit out of me. I was laughing along, then suddenly that darn skeleton appeared screaming and so was I.
@@JenniLeigh81 That scene scared the crap outta me too as a kid, I always insisted on watching the movie but when it came time for Marv to get fried I'd either run away or cry if I couldn't get away in time lol
Fun fact: after this movie, the Plaza put together its own Home Alone package where you can have Kevin's New York vacation!
Where when and how would I get to do this, never have been in America for more 6hrs but would love to do it man, I went for a day shopping trip once and that's it, was part way back home in the same day only got bras and jewelry to man.
That would be amazing
How much it costs
@@HarmonyOCczcams.com/video/HQRn2sGh6Js/video.htmlsi=9Q-N5Bsf5frOfN4n
@@HarmonyOC$967 for room service alone 😂
This movie might not be as talked about as the original, but to me, they'll always be equally great. Although I do love how creative the traps get this time around.
Fun fact: A channel did do a kill count for every *Home Alone* movie and yeah, the second movie has the most kills, and Marv and Harry are definitely immortal.
Can we talk about how Tim Curry is probably one of the best thing in this movie ! He just eat all the scenes with his presence and he is so Tim Curry...that smile when he find the card his stolen is just priceless ! Such a great actor and voice actor !!
Tim Curry was born in my home town, as was the late great Pete Postlethwaite. Two of the finest in the business 😊
Tim Curry is the only reason Home alone 2 isn't panned as hard for being a rehash of the first movie.
I hate that people keep calling Kevin a psychopath, yes, his traps are extremely violent and dangerous, but come on, he’s protecting himself, and saving Christmas for the children at the hospital, and take into consideration that Harry and Marv have no problem with killing anyone that gets in their way
Kevin is just a young Jigsaw
I think the biggest reason why newer viewers are so shocked at the absurd violence and lack of injuries is mostly just because slap stick is basically dead now a days. Growing up watching slapstick comedies like the 3 stooges and looney toones really helps with that lol
Why it is offensive
the "I love you" scene with Tim Curry will never not lead to me busting a gut laugh-crying. imo it's the best scene in the whole franchise
I didnt mind Clariss complaining about the mom/ family, its her first time watching and i think most of us have watched it 10+ times already. Its a normal and very reasonable first reaction😂. And i enjoyed the reaction. Im glad you both had alot of fun!
Fr. Especially as an adult. I remember doing my usual rewatch a few years back and by that point I had gained a bit more maturity and I genuinely had so many wtf, how is this okay and pause moments that I would blindly laugh at years before that
It’s not fair to just blame the mom. We as a society also make it the moms fault since dad isn’t reliable and that’s ridiculous.
Replacing the original Home Alone cast just cannot be done. The comedy with this cast is just too good.
I couldn't even watch the 3rd one
In case you're unaware, the Pigeon Lady is played by Irish actress Brenda Fricker, who won the Academy Award a couple years prior to this movie for playing Daniel Day-Lewis' mother in "My Left Foot". As is tradition at the Academy, she presented her future "Home Alone 2" co-star Joe Pesci with his Oscar the following year for "Goodfellas", where he famously just said, "It's my privilege, thank you" and walked offstage.
She also played the foster mother in "angels in the outfield"
She also played Ethel Twitty, the secretary to Matthew McConaughey's lawyer character Jake Brigance in A Time To Kill
It's funny to see both movies with my parents as both are physicians. And it's funny to hear both of them talking in their "medical language" about their diagnostics and possible complications if the guys got to live. My dad killed me once when he said "I definitely would love to be there when the necropsy is made, it will be such an interesting case!"
Fun fact: With every sequel/reboot, Home Alone 2 becomes a better film by comparison.
Of course. However, home alone 2: lost in New York is not a remake or reboot. It’s just a sequel to the original movie.
I'd still argue 3rd is better
@@thomasanderson2384If it aint got Kevin in it, then it ain’t Home Alone.
The 2 best Home Alone movies and some of the best christmas movies ever. Kevin, Harry, and Marv, that dynamic works and never gets old
Oh yes! The best Christmas sequel of all time! This was my favourite Christmas film when I was younger! Thank you both for the nostalgia 🙏🏻👍🏻
Me too.
I feel like these crazy slapstick moments, especially the bandits getting wrecked in the house, should just be thought of as live action cartoons. They'll go through death defying slapstick and just walk it off - just like cartoons such as Tom and Jerry.
Iconic films and great reactions! Thank you guys for sharing!
This movie is one of those rare sequels that is definitely better than the first film! I just found it more comedic, the traps were more enjoyable to watch and Tim Curry being featured was a brilliant addition!
That scene where Kevin tricks him and the rest of the hotel staff with the crime film will forever be the best scene in the entire movie for me. Curry's comedic timing is top notch!!
32:28 To be fair, he has enough evidence on them that if they don’t catch him, and likely kill him, they’re going to Rikers for life.
What a beautiful way to celebrate this film's 30th anniversary.
Interesting fact about the Trump cameo: he only shows up because at the time, he owned the Plaza, and he has a stipulation that if someone is going to film on his properties, he has to make a cameo.
Typically when filmmakers agree to this, they usually film the cameo and conveniently come up with a reason to take it out.
This time they legitimately forgot.
Trump was such a famous New Yorker at the time, it would’ve only made sense to have kept it honestly
I’m so happy to see you reacting to this. It’s quite literally the same logic-free formula but it still works. It’s equally hilarious.
Funny reaction. Home Alone 1 and 2 always cracked me up. Kevin is very clever when it comes to plan, Harry and Marv always get hurt, which made it funny, the hotel staff and when the mom screaming out Kevin
☠️☠️☠️🤣🤣🤣
Sadly the family never learns from their mistakes in the last movie, most disappointing of all the mother, you'd think she would take her youngest son's side for once.
How sexist that all of y’all blame the mother and not anyone else.
@@CurlyQueen12386 how idiotic and irresponsible of you, to not blame the one who is suppose to be directly responsible for their child.
I absolutely love Home Alone 2 and it has such a good plot, but the highlights are definitely the traps as I think they are even funnier than the first one in my opinion!
Awesome rewatch Timothee!
Me too.
the actor who played Mr. E.F Duncan the proprietor of Duncan's toy chest, was Eddie Bracken the Hollywood comedy legend who is known for his lead performances in films like Hail The Conquering Hero and The Miracle of Morgan's Creek both comedy classics from 1944, Bracken appeared in later movies like National Lampoon's Vacation (1984) Oscar (1991) Home Alone 2 (1992) Rookie of the Year (1993) and Baby's Day Out (1994)
If I remember correctly, the song during Kevin's montage scene in New York, "All Alone on Christmas," is an original song created for the film. It was written by Steven Van Zandt, a member of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band, and sung by Darlene Love, giving her a slight comeback to mainstream radio success.
It's the E Street Band playing on the track too!
Some of the scenes were filmed in Chicago. The Plaza Hotel doesn't actually have a pool, so the pool scene in the hotel was filmed at a location in Chicago that had a pool.
Fun fact: This was filmed in Chicago, they did film in NYC (WTC, Central Park, Bridges, etc) but the toy store was actually a permanently closed bank in downtown Chicago that they turned into a toy store for the movie and later took the props down,
the third home alone definitely isn't the best but i love it so much, it's the first one i saw and it IS really fun
there's more of a reason the bad guys are there, and the kid is alone for a reason too
Omg same, I love third one the most because of the intense contraptions lol
More bad guys, more contraptions, more comedic pain, perfect xD
Favorite Moments
28:23 Marv Being Marv
32:33 Zap
33:35 Boom
37:54 Kevin gets Caught
There's still a theory that Kevin grew up to become Jigsaw.
Joe: Okay, kid. Give it to me.
Macaulay: You asked for it. 28:30-28:44-28:49-29:03
Marv's screams in both movies are hilarious 😂😂
There’s a video from Screen Junkies called Honest Action, where they list all the injuries Harry and Marv would have suffered as well as how many times they would have died. The brick part is hysterical.
You know I kinda like the premise of this movie a little bit better than the first, being able to go somewhere besides the house for the majority of the movie Is actually great
Btw Christopher Columbus seems to be the guy who works in twos with Harry Potter and Home Alone
Nothing beats the original but this film was still bloody hilarious!!!! 😂
but this beats the original though
@@adamblackedition5529 I agree! This also feels more Christmassy than the first one!
Yeah this pips it imo. And the fact you could buy the Talkboy in real life. This movie is the kid's dream, never gets boring.
When I watched this movie, this phrase popped up in my head: Truly wonderful, the mind of a child is.
Marv was the first "Yo I'm dead"
I also didn't realize that when Harry slipped off the goo ladder and landed it made the GTA 5 wasted sound 😂
There is a funny fan made theory that Kevin’s Dad is a mob boss/ mobster. That would explain where all the money is coming from, Kevin’s knowledge of torture at the age of 8-10 years old, and why Kevin was so obsessed with that mafia movie 😂
This film was released a few days before the release of Aladdin (1992).
My favourite scene is when Harry was hit by four bricks, I was laughing and laughing that my stomach was hurting, Kevin can put on pranks that you couldn't even imagine. Thanks I enjoyed the movie, see you
9:24 Yeah, that's true. Literally 1 person wasn't nonchalant upon finding out they were missing Kevin
When my oldest was just a little girl, she was watching this movie, and she'd gotten to the age where everything and everyone had to have a name. I was talking to my sister and DD kept asking me what the pigeon lady's name was. Of course, she's never named, but this wasn't an acceptable answer to her. Finally, I got mildly exasperated and snapped, "Bird Poo Annie!!" DD found this hilarious (and didn't seem to realize I just made it up), and from then on that's what she called PL!
Recently watched : Violent Night
It has some Home Alone elements in it, but rated R
Home alone 2 is better than the first for me it’s what every sequel should be it’s basically the same movie but x10 and I love it. My favorite scene is when that lady knocks out Marv & Harry she has crazy strength it cracks me up and the little nod she gives to Kevin afterward is the cherry on top
If we took the movies literally, Marv would have broken his neck on the icy stairs & Harry on the icy steps in the first movie lol
Kevin is being a kid. Kids don't always think. I remember being little and stopping to pick up a rubber band off the street. Bus closed the doors on me, and I almost got left.
I'm so glad you guys did this one together! This is hands down my favorite Christmas movie of all time.
There is a movie in theaters right now called violent night. It's labeled as "die hard meets home alone" (it's because they make a bunch of home alone references plus there is a small segment where she is being pursued by bad guys and she sets some pretty gory traps for them
I preferred the second movie over the first one growing up tbh. Also side note, I had such a huge crush on Catherine O’Hara in this movie. She was so gorgeous! 🖤
There are actually several Home Alone reactions done by doctors on CZcams. They go over what the actual damage would cause, and which traps would be fatal.
Kevin’s no psychopath; he just has a strong survival instinct.
9 Harry's and 14 Marvs and required to finish Home Alone 1 and 2. This movie alone, each brick to the head is a kill shot, The bag of wrenches to the head, The Toilet Explosion, the Electrocution, the bag of cement, Marv's 2 story fall on his face, the pipe to the face, being crushed by that pipe, the 3 story fall at the end, and getting hit by the varnish cans after that fall. All death moments
31:58 🕺🏻 32:05 😂 33:23 blowtorch 36:11 🧰 38:44-38:55 that’s a lot of pigeons. 41:58 Kevin! You spent $967 on room service!?
I’m just now realizing Tim Curry would’ve been an amazing Grinch
I'm sure you know this by now, but Kevin's brother, Fuller, is played by Macaulay Culkin's actual brother. Anyway, this was a terrific sequel. The third film is unrelated because it feels like an unnecessary reboot. 4 and 5 are the continuation of Kevin's story. The new film, despite Buzz making a cameo as a cop, also has nothing to do with the first two installments.
"Gotta kind of love Marv" There was going to be a spinoff film about Marv actually a becoming an unlikely hero, but it was rewritten as an original story but still has Daniel Stern in the lead it's called "Bushwhacked" (1994) it would be fun to Tim and Clariss react to that 🤣
16:03 That's exactly it!!! He's a gifted kid, KID he's extremely smart for a nine year old but hes still 9
Home Alone 2 is so good, I forgot that Tim Currry was in this movie.
Whats even funnier is that the year after this movie Macaulay Culkin stars in a movie where he like evil killer.....which makes sense seeing the lengths he went to in these two movies.
Harry and Marv could have used their immortal powers for good
Fan theory, Kevin is the jigsaw killer all grown up. There is a video on that.
Also I love the skeleton marv too! They did such a good job matching it up to him. Especially the beard.
This movie is a perfect example of an amazing sequel.
One time I was watching this movie and my mother walked into the room just as Marv was being electrocuted and she asked me what horror movie I was watching! 😂
Fun fact: When they were filming the pigeon scene with Marv and Harry the actor who played Marv actually had a pigeon in his mouth when they filming the scene
Kevin's mother: It's Christmas Eve, and because of you, our child is lost in one of the biggest cities in the world.
I didn't think it was possible to genuinely hate someone in a 90s Christmas special before I heard that line.
I think it’s crazy how much y’all sexist losers blame the mom and only the mom. Sad that our society has made it so mothers are to be blamed and not the father.
Yes now we watching home alone 2 lost in New York!
Coming from a pretty big family, who grew up around this time when the film was made, and being Irish, it’s honestly a normality for the youngest, to kind of be raising them selves😂 I think that’s kind of part of the joke that they keep forgetting him. By the time the parents get to the sixth one they’re over it. Haha
I wonder if kevin screamed when he saw harry and marv because he was genuinely surprised to see them or because he knew he was in public and wanted to make a scene and alert the bystanders
Both
The first 2 home alone movies are so good and funny! I love these re reactions. Keep up the great work Tim
I love how, with the big bag of flour, Marv somehow had enough time to say, "Uh-oh," and yet not enough time to step out of the way! They really are living cartoon characters! Kevin's not a sadist. He's a human version of Bugs Bunny!
Whenever people make videos or articles about the most creepy or disturbing moments in family films, I'm surprised they never bring up the part in this movie where Kevin sees and gets taughtened by various creeps while walking around at night that part always bothered me as a kid.
out of all the home alone movies this is my favorite
If that dude walked in on me in the shower in a high end hotel like that? I'd guarantee I'd have my own personal penthouse in that hotel for life. Plus unlimited room service at a minimum.
Thank you so much for this reaction Tim and Clariss! This is by far my absolute favorite Home Alone film out of the entire franchise! Again if you would’ve chosen to continued I would’ve just recommended the third film just for the entertainment and the sixth film for the callbacks to the first 2 films. If you wish, Daniel Stern has another film called Bushwhacked which is hilarious as well as the Home Alone films. Another amazing family comedy about kids kicking adults butts is the 3 Ninjas franchise which I highly recommend!

💙💛❤️🤍
Great reaction as always! I love this movie, it’s just as good as the first one! I don’t know how often they’d have died, but the number is high. There are videos of doctors counting the deaths and injuries of these two movies though.
As an aside there’s also a fan theory that Kevin grows up to be Jigsaw and makes even more sadistic traps.
Not sure if you've seen it but one of my favorites from the 90s is
The Borrowers starring John Goodman, Jim Broadbent, Hugh Laurie, Mark Williams
It's got a lot of these "he should be dead" moments in it.
Yes! I love The Borrowers!
My favorite part of this movie was always the electricity part and I never realized how many people found it as hilarious as I did.
This movie reminds me of some of great slapstick comedies! No one dies , Marc and Harry never learn etc. Or THREE STOOGES, meet smart ten year old!
Love this movie. It’s way better than the first one. The toy store owner and the bird lady are top notch. So sweet. I cried when Kevin gave the bird lady one of his two turtle doves is the best thing ever. And when Kevin reunited with his mom at the Christmas tree. Funny af and emotional af. Incredible well done and I love to reaction. I can’t wait to see more of your reactions. Keep on being amazing.
Agreed, the street workers would probably want to help the kid. The second movie is sooo good. I always choke laughing.
Funny how in the first movie Marv says “Kids are scared of the dark” and in the second movie he says “Kids are scared of the park”
Home alone 2 lost in New York was to e funnies movies, one of the best moments Is at the airport scene where everyone says Kevin’s not here and passes it to everyone, so she laughs and says, Kevin, then she faded that was one of funniest scene I react. Thank you for posting this Tim.
There’s a video out there. Someone did a “kill count” of sorts where they cataloged their injuries and said if they were fatal or non-fatal. Between these two movies I think they said it would take 14 Marv’s and 9 Harry’s to survive the films.
17:50 it's New York. Also remember, this was the early 90s, which was a bad time in New York.
My mom was laughing so hard but the brick scene
Home Alone 2: Lost in New York is basically a scene-for-scene remake of the first. Evidence? Have a look:
*Animosity towards Kevin in the beginning spawns from a situation in which Kevin was actually the victim: Pizza; pageant.
*Of course, several events lead to Kevin being separated from his family.
*Kevin enjoys his situation at first.
*He watches an old b&w Mafia movie, which traumatizes him.
*He meets a creepy stranger: Shovel man; pigeon lady.
*He's doing things kids his age really shouldn't know how to do.
*He fools someone into thinking there's a vicious, trigger happy adult present using the audio from the Mafia movie: pizza boy; concierge.
*He starts to get scared of being alone until he sees the creepy stranger isn't so bad.
*He uses the Mafia movie audio to fool a dynamic duo of criminals.
*He sets traps around a house to make a monkey out of the two criminals.
*The criminals get the upper hand and take him away to maim and murder him.
*Creepy stranger shows up and saves the day via: shovel bludgeoning; pigeon attack.
*Criminals get arrested.
*Kevin asks Santa for his family back.
*Mom arrives.
*Family reunion.
*Tender moment with creepy stranger.
*Kevin gets yelled at off screen: "What did you do to my room?!"; "YOU SPENT 927 DOLLARS ON ROOM SERVICE!"
Thanks.
The sequel was like a equivalent of Rocky
That lady got free seats at a symphony orchestra that probably costs a hundred dollars for a ticket lol.
Saw this right after a very busy day. Very happy
I will always love the screaming skeleton, I literally live each day just to see it! You should edit your jurassic park 2 scream scene to look like the screaming skeleton, I would laugh so hard at that! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I loved this movie as a kid in the 90's. But ever since 9/11, it's hard watching this and seeing the Twin Towers still standing.
A iconic building
If the Lego Ideas set of the house from the first Home Alone wasn't so expensive it would be great to have. Always loved Marv's electrocution from this movie even though it's crazy.
Everyone loves home alone and its sequel. It's just a silly fun heart warming film the whole family can gather round and watch at Christmas.
This second Home Alone has always made me laugh so hard!🤣 Anyway you two should also check out the 3rd movie, even though it's a different boy it's still a funny one😉
Clariss
Funny that you were saying "they're dead!" Because I reacted to doctor who has his own CZcams channel. He stated that Harry (Joe Pesci) and Marv (Daniel Stern) would suffer extreme injuries and even death from these traps set by Kevin (Macauly)
