    I love this theatrical dreamlike surrealism they created. It's so untainted by anyone else messing around with it. They're an escape from stark bland boredom. I need this weirdness. I found their songs only this December while browsing through CD's at a local shop. Classic way to discover them right? Around midnight I played this while driving. Oh my goodness me!!! Upon pressing play, I was like caught between two worlds. Magnificent. They're music psychedelia. Yes, magical and mysterious alluring strangeness. Curiosity!

      I think Siouxsie (and The Banshees) would love how you discovered their music. Basically, that's the meaning of the song, "Spellbound'.

    I love the comment here at 4:05:
    "The magic that we want is not textbook magic. I mean we use terms like "Voodoo" or "Spellbound," but they're not to be taken literally. The best magic is when something good happens and you don't plan, it's not in your control. To an extent you are in control, but to be totally in control of everything, then that'd be boring. Life would be boring if nothing went (then she clicks her fingers), you know, something magic's happened. But it's not (mimics a person casting a spell by waving her hands). It's a feeling."

I loved the black brick walls of the Exit Lounge and the graveyard scene on it with the names of other bars on the tombstones (very funny) like Neo^s, 950/Lucky Number, O^Bannion^s (named after a mobster Capone had killed) which was on S. Clark St close to downtown? THAT was my very 1st ckub when that song 1st came out ^Dancing With Myself^ and my roomie & I were buzzing on blotter! Wild days, man!

    She was warned about her smoking in 83, but carried on regardless. Such a shame.

    • @anthonyyoutubefan7567
      @anthonyyoutubefan7567 Před 5 lety +4

      Actually, she quit smoking in 1987, then, picked it back up around 1993 or so. Then, when she quit in 2003, she found out that she's part of a rare percentage of people whose body chemistries can't function correctly w/out nicotine in their system. So, since 2005 or so, she's had to resort to chewing tobacco gum and wearing nicotine patches, and probably vaping, to avoid relapsing in to the bronchitis, asthma, and sinus infections she started having in the early 2000s, due to quitting smoking. She unknowingly prophesied this state with her 1978 song, "Nicotine Stain".
