Pink Floyd London......Makes you proud to be British👌✌
Yes 🙌
Glad you enjoyed
As a french guy, i would say, NOOOOO😂! I HATE YOU😂✌️(i'm jaleous in fact)....But, we beated you at Twickenham 2 weeks ago, so it's ok😂....BUT, YES, THE CAMERA, FILMING BEHING THE AMPS, WITH "PINK FLOYD LONDON", WITH THAT FUNKY RYTHM, IT'S SUPER COOL! It reminds me JIMI HENDRIX, at WOODSTOCK, and ISLE OF WIGHT, you can see the name on the amps, like that! It's so cool.... ( i think, as they're were, always, playing in festivals, or with 1st part's bands, that's why they had to write the name on the amps, because, a lot of bands were using the same amps, i worked as a roadie too😂)....I, only, saw PINK FLOYD (without Waters), once, in my town STRASBURG, FRANCE, in 1994, during the PULSE TOUR....UNFORGOTTABLE! MAGIC! Peace from France ✌️
The guitar player is the legendary David Gilmour. He also sings lead vocals on many of their songs, as well. He returned to Pompeii (as a solo artist) in 2016, 45 years after this recording, and performed a concert in front of an audience. It's on a DVD (David Gilmour, Live in Pompeii 2016) and is amazing. If you react to more Pink Floyd, I suggest checking out their live performance of 'Comfortably Numb' from the Pulse concert in 1994 (in particular, I suggest you look up the Restored and Re-edited version). It will blow your mind.
Hey thanks for watching and for your comment
I appreciate the information
How’s that for a song that’s 50 years old? (Although this is only ½ of it! There’s a part 2) They were playing to the ghosts of Pompeii.
More Pink Floyd soon!! 🔥🔥🔥
Nick Mason on drums…Rick Wright on keyboards…Roger Waters on bass…David Gilmour on guitar.
Wow there is a part 2 def have to check that out
Thaks for watching this one my friend
@@dubzer0649 Yes, and there are also “whole” versions on YT - original from the “Meddle” album and quite a few great live ones (with audiences, lol). You should give them a listen on your own time when you’re in the mood to chillax 🍻🤗👍🏼 Pink Floyd will get your subs up, too! Enjoy 😉 PS - give the suggestions by others a try…and my favorite album is “Animals” by them. 🔥🔥🔥
David gilmour is the guitarist and Nick mason is the drummer, roger waters on bass and Richard Wright on keyboard. One of the best bands to come out of the UK by far
Thanks for the information
The BEST band in the WORLD
If this is just the second Pink Floyd song you have reacted to you have a lot of catching up to do. Please keep going down the amazing Rabbit Hole. Alice did and was never the same again.
Yes def will
Thanks for watching
Amen to that. Great rabbit hole
Gilmour and Mason puttin' on a show. Their catalog of music is beyond worth the trip masterclass musicians.
Def plan on bringing more
Thanks for watching
Please don’t forget Richard Wright. “Echoes” doesn’t exist without his keyboard. He is the “echo” with David.
@@davsaltego Not forgetting him or Waters.
The song that transformed me into a "Floydian" back in 1972.
I can see why
Great song
Thanks for watching
This is one of the most amazing things ever filmed.
Don't forget to react to part 2. The song is actually over 23 minutes but for the concert video, they broke into two parts. Part 1 opened and part 2 closed.
Ok will do
Stay tuned for it
Thanks for letting my know there was 2 parts
@@dubzer0649 I understood that Echoes is a three parter.
"Live at Pompeii" was recorded in the Roman arena in the city of Pompeii, Italy.
The entire concert is dedicated to the inhabitants of Pompeii, killed by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD. That's why there is no audience but only musicians, cameras and sound engineers.
Many images evoke the ancient catastrophe and associate the most experimental sounds with the power and destruction emanating from the volcano and nature in general.
This is with regards to the musical documentary from which this piece is taken (documentary that contains curiosities, short interviews and moments of the band's life during the filming).
Sitting here in New Orleans waiting to get spanked by this hurricane may as well jam to some Floyd
Stay safe! Prayers to you & yours
me too
🙏
@@lynnhoffman247 thanks
Hope all is well my friend
Thanks for watching
Stay safe
Oh man, your facial expressions let me trip 😁😎 looking forward to Part 2 🙏
Sorrow and High Hopes from the Pulse Concert.
Stay tuned for more
As always, hi from Canada, DubØ- since Zep and Floyd are the top two bands ever, you'll be well- rewarded doing more of both,. Spectacular presentation, immaculate instrumentation, boundless imagination... at the skilled hands of both groups. Fun and mind- expanding at the same time. Peace and be safe, man.
Hey how are you my friend, yes going forward def going to check out more Pink Floyd so stay tuned
Got some zep dropping today actually
Keep going down the Pink Floyd rabbit it hole, you will NOT be disappointed
This was the main line up:-
Roger Waters - Bass / Vocals / Lyrics
Dave Gilmour - Lead Guitar / Vocals
Richard Wright - Keyboard / Vocals
Nick Mason - Drums
(Roger didn't sing on this one)
Dave Gilmour had replaced one of the founding members Syd Barrett who had dropped out of the band suffering Mental Health issues and the effects of drug abuse.
Many of Floyds later songs reference back to Syd and the problems of Mental Health.
Syd was dearly loved and missed but had become completely unreliable, even playing different songs mid session live on stage.
Check out both "The Dark Side of the Moon" & "Wish you were here" albums and you'll get many references to Syd.
Appreciate this information
Thanks for watching
you have to do COMFORTABLY NUMB LIVE PULSE 1994. david gilmour is for many - me included - the greatest guitarist of all. his solo in the afore mentioned song is widely considered to be the best of all time. the first short solo in the song is just a warm-up. then comes the second one ...
Ok def will knock that one out
Thanks for watching
Beatles and pink floyd music is awesome
Anything floyd is GOLD
More to come
@@dubzer0649 anything from the pulse concert is good for the production they put on
WOW....
Thanks for watching
Great reaction! This is one of my favorite. Check out part 2 if you haven't already.
On a funny side
-note, I'm glad you include "Pink Floyd" in your title, cuz otherwise it would read as "FIRST TIME HEARING Echoes", lol. I don't think you want that rap.
guitar is THE DAVID GILMOUR.
Thanks for the information and thanks for watching
Pink Floyd is definitely a vibe.... and I have to be in the mood to listen. But when I am.... I love anything and everything from them! They're definitely legends for a reason!! I'm here for it Dub! Gonna watch now.... ;)
Appreciate you as always my friend
Have a blessed rest of the day
"Echoes" is a song by English rock band Pink Floyd, and the sixth and final track from their 1971 album Meddle. It was written in 1970 by all four members of the group. Containing several extended instrumental passages, ambient sound effects, and musical improvisation, "Echoes" has a running time of 23:31 and comprises the entire second side of the vinyl and cassette recordings.
Thanks for the information my friend I appreciate you
on the turning away still makes me tear up a bit and I'm a grizzled old veteran.
Lead guitar david gilmour, bass roger Walter's,synthesizer&piano richard wright, drums nick mason.
Thanks for the info I appreciate it
Nick Mason is the drummer. David Gilmour is the lead vocalist and guitarist. Rick Wright on the keyboards and backup vocals. Roger Waters slappin the bass. Also that riff in the first big solo after the choruses was ripped off by Andrew Lloyd Webber for the Phantom of the Opera theme.
They are GOAT rockers
If you want to hear a solo that will bring tears to your eyes, check out the live Pulse version of comfortably Numb. I'm 65 years old, and I still think it's the most emotional solo I've ever heard. Gilmore's guitar work always makes me feel emotional.
Ok thanks for the suggestion and thanks for watching
If you decide to revisit Pink Floyd, here's a list of my favorite Floyd songs for whatever it's worth....
1) "MOTHER"
2) "MONEY"
3) "HEY YOU"
4) "WISH YOU WERE HERE"
5) "SHINE ON YOU CRAZY DIAMOND"
Like I said, Pink Floyd is something I have to be "in the mood" for (they're deep as hell and NOT just lyrically, instrumentally as well!)..... That being said, the 5 songs I listed above are the PF songs I can listen to no matter my mood cuz they're just freaking GREAT!!! Lolol!! ;) Loved your reaction!! :)
Hey Tina
Yes def going to keep going with Pink Floyd
Thanks for the song suggestions
the one singing on the left is David Gilmour; as in the David of Comfrotably Numb, Live Pulse.........google Pompei and you will immediately understand where they were and what the lyrics mean.
Thanks for the information my friend
Pompeii is an ancient city in southern Italy that was destroyed by the volcano Vesuvius in 79 AD. They said “No one flies around the sun.” Nick Mason is the drummer in Pink Floyd. David Gilmour is the guitarist and main vocalist. Roger Waters on bass and main lyricist. Rick Wright on keyboards/synths and vocals.
Nice to actually see the vid. Unlike other reactions that have a tiny box
And this is only the first part... 😎🤟🔥
David Gilmour: guitar, vocals
Nick Mason: drums
Roger Waters: bass
Rick Wright: keyboards, piano, vocals
There's a helluva lot of amazing Pink Floyd songs to react to plus their concept albums that need to be listened to all the way through in one sitting. An incredibly awesome live band. You have to do some songs live from Pulse
Def more to come
Stay tuned
This was filmed live in the amphitheater at Pompeii (no crowd, just crew) for release in cinema’s in U.K.
Pompeii was a Roman town near what is now Naples on the coast of Italy. In AD 79 the nearby volcano Mt Vesuvius erupted and completely buried Pompeii and Herculaneum under 15 metres of volcanic rock/ash. It was forgotten about until accidentally discovered about 150 years ago, and has since been excavated.
I was 14 when this was filmed in about 1972 and I went to see it at the cinema at the time ( I’m 63 now) it was a Sunday night showing one night only….
I was mesmerised and love it to this day, Meddle is my favourite Pink Floyd album.
I have visited Pompeii and Herculaneum recently and even climbed Vesuvius and peered in ! It’s fascinating and well worth the visit
excellente reaction cool
Glsd ypu enjoyed my friend
Dub Great Reaction. I’m here late so I’ll just say I can’t wait to see part two.😀👍❤️✌️🌼
Yea def got to do part two
Thanks for watching
This group seems very interesting def got me curious to see what mor they have to offer
Nick Mason is the drummer and David Gilmore is the guitar player
They were the band that we smoked a doobie to and just listened to whole albums. I'm 59 so they were producing songs when I was 2.
Yes 🙌
Love it
Wow dove right into the deep end, love it. This is there older stuff. Deep deep rabbit hole of incredible music.
The drummer is the excellent Nick Mason, who is touring in 2022 with old-style Floyd stuff.
Put on their Album Animals, light up a fat one and enjoy! 🔉
Now you gotta do part 2!
bro if you like the drummer and the guitar dude, go for ONE OF THESE DAYS. Same concert, nice reaction btw!
The drumer is Nick Mason.
Take a listen to their track "Biding My Time" off their 1971 album Relics .... I can only describe in 2 words.... swanky and spicy 😉😏
The album also includes a previously unreleased studio recording of a Roger Waters composition, "Biding My Time". The song, originally titled "Afternoon”, had been heard by live audiences as part of the Man and the Journey concert sequence. Following the sessions for Ummagumma, it was reworked as "Biding My Time", before being held over for two years until the release of Relics. Unusually, Wright plays trombone on this track.
no, this is not a rehearsal. they are playing to the ghosts of pompeii. by the way: you only watched part 1 of 2.
Thanks for the info I appreciate you
Please react to entire albums with Pink Floyd. The only way.
yeah, pink floyd is Alot more complicated than people realize. They are basically a symphony in a box. Comfortably numb, The entire Echoes album, wish you were here, the entire division bell...
Now a grandad. I was a toddler then.
This is from a movie called "Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii" (1972). They played in that ancient arena just for the purpose of filming the movie. Really good film. However, I would respectfully suggest something stronger than Budweiser. I like Budweiser beer, I do. However for this music you need something a bit more (Edited post: I apologize, I'm wrong. You don't need anything with this music. It stands on it's own.)
Ah ok so from a movie make sense now
Thanks for sharing
Dub, if you really want to experience the fullness of "Live at Pompeii" watch entire video album from start to finish, especially if you have big screen. One word of caution, I would suggest nothing stronger than coffee while you watch, it will have enough effect on you. When it is over, you are going to say "What the *&^% did I just experience?". Oh and I really enjoy these reactions when al of you from later generations listen to our music from back in the day.
Drummer Nick Mason doesn't get as much credit as many other bigger name drummers but he was really on his game in this period of the band's career. Really top drummer!
Nick Mason is the star in this song. 😊
Lead guitar- David Gilmour, Drummer-Nick Mason, Bass- Roger Waters, Keyboard- Rick Wright (Now deceased) This the last time Rick performed Echoes in 2006 with David Gilmour at the Gdańsk Shipyard. Waters and Mason are absent. It is the full version of Echoes. czcams.com/video/zrProK5R7ms/video.html
You should also watch “The Who live at the Isle of Wight singing young man blues. Another legendary band and one of my favourites. Top performance and Keith Moon at his peek. They all were at this point. Deffo give it a watch
Ok will do. Thanks for watching
1971
as a new listener you should do research on pompeii, the reason PF had no one there other them and engineers was because they didnt want to disturbe the dead of pomeii with fans having a good time.
Pink Floyd fan for 40 years love it! But, see a lot of reactions and people asking where’s the crowd? It’s live? I thought that this major historical event was common knowledge? Apparently not a lot of people know what happened there or sadly where it even is!
do interstellar overdrive
Ok will do
The best bands are from UK. Beatles, rolling stones, Pink Floyd, led zeplin, black Sabbath, Queen, Bowie, Lenox, ect.
Ect
Thank you for doing this reaction. There are some other Pink Floyd songs you could react to. "Dogs" is another long one but it's really a great tune you won't even notice that 17 minutes have gone by. "Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts I - V)" That one is 15 minutes and is top shelf stuff. "Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts VI-IX)" is about 13 minutes and is just as amazing as the first part, if not a smidgen better. Those are some of the long tunes. For something shorter, try "Comfortably Numb" first the studio version, then there is a live version at a "Pulse Concert 1994" easily found on You Tube. That has the most amazing guitar solo at the end. Some even dare to say that it is "The Guitar Solo" So there's five things you could check out.
Hey thanks for watching
I def will be checking out more so stay tuned
Appreciate the information as well too
Hope you have a good rest of the day
Vocals?? David Gilmour guitar Nick Mason drums
Pink Floyd and Budweiser...are we related?
keep in mind that these guys were in their 20's at the time.
That’s amazing
You cant go wrong with PF
They are pretty amazing
Floyd anticipating social distancing a few decades in advance, just like they did with so many other concepts.
Many hats off to them all.
("Hey guys; let's just book one of the most famous amphitheaters on the planet and just jam for an hour or so..")
Count the number of frets on Dave's Axe. That's not normal, BTW.
Not many reactionists have the stones to listen to 'echoes'. You get a sub from me just for that! Takes a real deep soul to appreciate this one!
You must have subbed to a lot of people. This is one of the most reacted to Floyd performances. :)
This amazing performance that many people was lucky enough to listen from outside the amphitheatre - live - has a hidden core, that most of them don't realize immediately: Roger Waters' bass.
Delete it from the piece and you can understand what happened to Pink Floyd once he's left the band.
Greetings from Italy.
Yes def amazing
Thanks for watching
+1 for the oversized beer
Thanks for watching
I love me a good beer
Beastie Boys copied this set for their Gratitude song which is also awesome. You went deep on Floyd with this track. Then again Floyd always is.... #mother #haveacigar
Oh wow didn’t know that
oh, another one part reaction :( there is second part, the better part.
I’ll def be doing the second one
Smoke some bud. And if and when you do Darkside of the Moon do the whole album at once. Record your reactions video but do that in one sitting.
enjoyed you reaction; many of these I've looked at from others seem clickbaity, but yours seems genuine.
If no on else has answered you question, the drummer is Nick Mason. Very underrated.
For another great show of his talent, also from the Pompeii recording, check out: "pinkfloydupload Pink Floyd - One Of These Days (Live At Pompeii) 1972" czcams.com/video/Nw1643T0RD0/video.html
I appreciate your comment thanks for watching
Pink Floyd where ANTI ESTABLISHMENT...😉 all the bands where (anti) politically motivated back then, this was the problem the Beatles caused 🤣🤣🤣
Check out Home Free Working For A Living
Ok will do
Thanks for watching
tell me that's not funky!?!?
try newer stuff. once you become comfortable with it, try some older stuff.
