    I would be tempted to have it come into the compartment rather than outside, the lead can then be used for other things that have SAE connectors, even leads you can make yourself like a cig plug for running a tyre inflator or 12v input from a solar panel tender just make sure you fuse it correctly.

    Hi--do you just leave the tender cables on there and plug in as needed? Does that interfere with any other battery supported features of the bike? I just bought Rebel 1100 DCT, my Rebel 300 I always took the seek off to plug in the tender. I want to make sure it's safe to leave the tender cables attached. Thanks. Great video.

    • @MacrossGarage
      @MacrossGarage  Před 2 měsíci

      Yes the charger is meant to be left on while you’re not using it. You can leave the connect charger on the battery even if you’re not using it.

    Thanks for the video, i will be installing a tender soon, also next to the positive battery cap, there is a cable with a red plug, it doesnt seem to be plugged to anything. Mine was not tucked away as nice as in your bike seen in 2:20 time mark of video. Any idea what that plug is for??? maybe the Honda heated grips???

    • @MacrossGarage
      @MacrossGarage  Před 3 lety

      I am not really sure what red plug your taking about and I will go look at my bike to look at it later but I am assuming you might be talking about the diagnostic port. That is used to read codes like you would for cars. Its also used for third party items like shift indicator.

      @@MacrossGarage Thanks. Just found out. Honda was false advertising then. On their website they said they put a lithium battery and quote
      "LIGHTWEIGHT LITHIUM-ION BATTERY: Conventional batteries are notoriously heavy-that’s why we gave the Rebel 1100 a high-tech, lightweight lithium-ion battery like our best sport bikes. Compared with a similar lead-acid battery, it lasts approximately four times longer, and its shelf life is 1.6 times longer. Plus, it’s way lighter"
