The Fizz performing Winning Ways from their forthcoming album Smoke & Mirrors out March 6th. Pre-Order: slinky.to/SmokeAndMirrors / thefizzcmj / thefizzcmj Copyright (C) 2020 Modal Production Group Ltd.
I absolutely love Bucks Fizz, from a child in the 80s, when as a performer at the Floral Pavilion I sang the Land of Make Believe (as a bride surrounded by Smurfs!) to winning Joytime with a rendition of Making Your Mind Up, to more recent times looking at Jay Astons wonderful photos and artwork. I'm an artist myself, and find this video very creative, funny and original, and so so different to the bawdy dross you normally see these days. I couldn't care less if people think they are naff, they aren't, and this is coming from someone who likes Joy Division, Mercury Rev and Sparks, I have room in my music heart for good music, and this is it.
I've loved the new Fizz ever since 'Dancing in the rain.' I enjoyed F-Z of Pop, and some time ago I found out that a followup was fast approaching. I was blown away by 'The world we left behind,' and then when this came out I was just AMAZED!!! Mark my words, the Fizz are the ones to follow in 2020!!
This song really grows on you great to see them on top form again even if the song is not a hit ,they made some great records and heart of stone and you and your heart so blue were do underrated it's a crime
Saw ThecFizz last night in Dunstsble and what a great bunch of personalities still winning 40 years on with this grest track from their new album Smoke and Mirrors
These talented bands who can write their own songs and genuinely perform live are not appreciated by record companies nowadays, all they want are easily manipulated puppets who'll do exactly what they're told. Long live the Fizz!
this is such a masterpiece ,what a comeback ...they actually sound better than their old material which I loved as a kid. Brilliant material and the lyrics say it all.
What a wonderful way to start off the new decade with a superb sound and fantastic music video from a revitalised Bucks Fizz! With their trademark bouncy lyrics and melodies, three of the four main harmonies from the original band, now comprising The Fizz, bring together a brilliant optimism that we need so very much. This is hopefully part of a trend, with the musical pendulum swinging back to choruses, lyrics and melodies carrying a sunny sound that we can sing to with a feelgood factor that's been largely absent over the last decade. Thank you and welcome back, Cheryl, Jay and Mike!
Glad they are back they were my favourite group when I was 7 years old the song is so amazing luv this glad to see cheryl Mike and jay I hope all is well with jay now after her mouth cancer xx
From here to eternity is a very moving song and Jay you are just the right person to sing it.The video is so lovely it make me want to cry because I like it so much. Well done for doing it in black and white 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
Camden Assembly hall last nights launch , what a great launch and I should also commend the fabulous backing group , I felt I was listening to the record , what a great show , so well done all and I wish all the success you deserve the Fizz and thank you for doing a meet and greet
Welcome back The Fizz. This is soooo good, I cannot stop watching this video, it has everything that I have always loved about them. Great vocal harmonies, great style, great fun and they literally lift you up now matter how low you may feel. Really great down to earth people when you meet them too. I really hope they get the exposure they deserve
Bucks fizz, came to our highschool. Here at Bundamba State Primary. Back in the day. 1981. From that moment on. I fell in musical love. With the the "FIZZ" THE BEST ILLIXER TO LIFE IN TOWN. ✝️ 🧡 ❤️ 🧡 ❤️ 🧡 ❤️ 🧡 ❤️ ✝️
Most bands come back as shadows of their former selves. Not the Fizz. The quality of every release since ‘dancing’ is just mind boggling. Harmonies and melodies top class - 2:15 just brings a lump to your throat. Jeez and I thought the early eighties stuff was good. Rock on.
This one has really grown on me. Wasn't keen on first listening, but absolutely love it now. The Fizz are just going from strength to strength now, welcome back to a great group - looking forward to the new album - Smoke and Mirrors, and guess it will be even better than F - Z of Pop!!!
I don't quite get or believe the supposed stigma of being a Fizz fan , i'm in my mid 40's now , i bought their records when i was a kid, they were great records, i was never embarrased, good music is good music & i think as this song shows & "the world we left behind" it's the songs that matter, i pre ordered their last album & will buy Smoke & Mirrors too, I also think that ditching Bobby makes them even more credible, i wish you guys lots of success with this album coz you deserve it.
@@leesas_classics1722 I meant Bobby V , already forgottten Bobby G a long time ago, no disrespect to Bobby V but i prefer Mike Jay & Cheryl as a trio, i do hope they stay as a trio & don't bring in another replacement , i think that the 3 original members works best, they have history with their fans & all 3 represent a part of our musical youth.
Loving this new album, I thought The F-Z of Pop would be difficult to better with Bobby McVey moving on, but it's surpassed it in my opinion. My views on the tracks are as follows : 1-Winning Ways (7/10) I wasn't a fan of this song when it was first released, think I'd been spoilt by the previous (TWWLB), the video really helped the song in my opinion, and it's definitely a grower 2 - All We Ever Can Do (7/10) A nice song with a good flow about it. A very good album track 3 - TOTP (8/10) On first hearing of this track I was like 'what the hell is that', but it's extremely catchy and tongue in cheek in relation to Bucks Fizz's early days on the show, especially the video. Pure pop cheese, and I love cheese! 4 - From Here To Eternity (7.5/10) A solo main lead for Jay, who put down her vocals for this track on the day she found out she had mouth cancer 😢. Personally I don't think she has a 'strong' voice, but it's very pure sounding and clear. The song is an emotional ballad that builds in typical Fizz fashion! Very good song. 5 - More Than These Words (6/10) The weakest song of the whole album for me, can't really remember it once it's finished, but a decent filler. 6 - Reservation (8.5/10) I love this song! On first listen I repeated it a couple of times. Really calypso with echoes of 1980’s Matt Bianco and Manilow's Copacabana. Really infectious and catchy! 7 - The World We Left Behind (10/10) Absolutely brilliant! Superb main lead from Cheryl and superb harmonies. Really catchy song with classic Fizz sound. On a par with 'Amen' from #TheF-ZOfPop for me! 8 - Nothing's Gonna Last Forever (7/10) Good to hear Mike on the solo lead for this. Again, he doesn't have the strongest vocal in my opinion (Bobby G always won there) but he sounds great on it. Really good song! 9 - Second To None (8/10) I really like this track. It has a very Fizz sound with an upbeat vocal arrangement. One of the best on the album in my opinion 10 - Storm (9/10) An excellent song! Really good vocal interaction from all 3 Fizzers, definately has a Fleetwood Mac vibe about it! Pushes TWWLB for best song! 11 - Boomerang (7/10) A nice song, the beginning reminds me of 'Clouds Across The Moon' by the Rah Band from 1985.... Another good album filler! Altogether #SmokeAndMirrors is a brilliant album! Well worth the wait. Great to have The Fizz back!
So funny how you purseve it this song on first listening too it, I was like not over keen.... Now I can't stop listen too it on repeat vid & download on ipod!!! So catchy & different video! I really do think we miss this sought off music in the charts. Just nice ear candy 💙💙💙
Well, this does make it better. I was watching "Zombieland 2" last night. Both it, and this, were apparently much fun to make, and I guess the giant 'happy pill' would be useful. With Brexit happening, it would be appropriate. Note to You Tube: the guy in green isn't there anymore. And there's Cheryl's daughter Natalie as one of the four dancers. Lovely.
Love them. Will always still be 'Bucks Fizz' to me though! This is a fab song, although 'Land Of Make Believe' will always be my favourite for personal reasons 😊 Great to see them back!
I performed this song at the Floral Pavilion theatre as a kid as a bride surrounded by Smurfs! It is a beautiful song and whimsical, and something to hold on to in these times for sure. Always believe in make believe.....
I did say to The Fizzy fans on a group posts I'm sure the song will come together with the music video. Love the music video and the meaning behind it. Thank you The Fizz for doing decent music videos that also bring out a message unlike today's music.
They still sound as good as the day they won Eurovision in 1981.
They deserve more recognition
This song is amazing 👏 😍
Quirky video!! Lovely to see the Fizz still going strong. Nostalgic
Great act and true to their sound. Catchy feel good stuff that cheers you up on the radio driving to work.

🇺🇸 U.S.A. here.... I just wanted to say that was a bucking awsome song! You have much better sound now. Well done.

Fantastic music...there's hope for the British music scene yet, whilst the Fizz are about! Roll on March 6th!
Mike Nolan has his moment along with the others. Brilliant.
I didn't mind the group "back in the day " but I think they sound even better now. Their songs are really good & they work well as a trio .

Fizz are just fantastic
AWSOME song. Saw em live yesterday. Well worth seeing. Great singers live.
Why do I think of Bobby when I hear this song? :O
It's a great song, makes me really happy, still makes me think of him.
"Smoke and Mirrors" is brilliant but for me the standout track is "Winning Ways". I just can't get enough of it !
Yes it is a brilliant album. So far their show at Pizza Express at Holborn is still going ahead.
this is such a masterpiece ,what a comeback ...they actually sound better than their old material which I loved as a kid. Brilliant material and the lyrics say it all.
Just love this song so catchy
I agree, great song.

I love it! It feels like to be back in the 80th when I was a teenager. Smile. Wishing them all the best.

First time I heard this. Brilliance 🤩 Quick edit that video made me laugh 😂

Why did Bobby v leave the fizz. People thought take that we're finished when Robbie and Jason left the band. But are better then ever as a trio
