His treatment of the main protag is similar to his treatment of MSPAR in Friendsim- he fooled most of his audience in the concert into believing that he actually stabbed MC much like Marvus kept insisting to Chahut that Joey did the job no matter how her excuses are obvious lies.
If you pick him to convince Chixie to give her ticket to Joey, he also went along with Joey's words that he'll involve Chixie in a gig that won't get her killed.

Yeah. Karako's the only one who used ":o(" when the deed is done. Boy needs a hug. He's the youngest of them all and the least exposed to the Alternian purple caste mindset. Chahut's the most obviously violent of the bunch since the beginning- stained axe and all. Barzum and Baizli are also malevolent, but in a more youthful way (I wonder what would become of the former in the next part?). Marvus is pretty dang ambiguously evil. He always show up at precise moments. In the final fetchquest, Chahut almost always see through Joey's obvious lies only for Marvus to reassure everyone quickly that Joey did the job. He conveniently releases Xefros just in time for the latter to rescue Joey even though he got him beaten up. He knows a bunch of meta stuff even in this game, but it's less pronounced than in his Friendsim route. "no1 who matterz to tha plot is gonna die :o)". Whatever his scheme is, it looks ominous and mysterious.

Due to his actions of helping MSPA reader (even in the face of certain doom in one of endings) or covering for Joey during her journey through Clown Car (Marvus did promise her during Court Minigame that he WILL see to it that she passes Clown Car safely), heck if you talk to him after 2nd "task" - Joey will break under pressure and try to confess what she actually did... Only for Marvus to cut her off and politely ask her to endure just a bit more of this nightmarish situation and that it will be all over soon... So in the end you can't put your finger on it and be sure whether he truly tries to minimize casualties of anyone who got wrapped in Highblood's Shenanigans or does it for the thrill of screwing over the system that thrives on murder OR it is a very long con and he is Magnificent Bastard who tries to outplay Paradox space... Who knows.... Clowns be clowns.

According to the Hiveswap aspect test, Time people are those who deem the destination more important than the journey. The ends justify the means. Reminds me of Aradia in that she knows that there are things that must happen no matter how disastrous for the Alpha timeline to exist. When you talk to Marvus right before you start the trial, he'll say that it doesn't matter how "wrong" Joey handles the case because "no matter the outcum itz a moral victory". He doesn't care how it's handled because "evrybody participating in da trial will b encouraged 2 commit less naughty acts jus by witnessing da utilitarianism of da means of punishment". There's currently animosity from the fans to most of the purple bloods right now compared to Friendsim because the protags, and figuratively the player, are directly manipulated and beaten by the end of Act 2. I'm more neutral to this as of now. Curious what will happen too.
Honestly, I like to think that Karako wasn't actually in or cared about any of this. Remember, he's just a little kid being coddled by Bronya... though, if I were Bronya, I think I would have kept Karako in the Jade car to keep him safe, knowing the kinds of things purplebloods get up to.

He gives her all the help he can in “believing” her with very little evidence, and if you talk to him in between the tasks, he’ll show support for you, but in a way that heavily implies that it’s completely out of his hands, he has no more choice than she does. Purple bloods really are the most disadvantaged of the hemospectrum.

There is no real choice, that’s the horror of Alternia. I’m not trying to say the violent and cruel things they do should just be forgiven, they’re all slaves to the system. Alternia’s systems were specifically designed to make it near impossible for people to break free from the tyranny. Also on Alternia, being murderous and violent is not only encouraged, it’s romanticized. It’s easy to try and just hold each individual troll to human moral standards, but it’s highly unfair to do so because they are not humans, they do not have our morals, and they’re living under a soul crushing tyranny where no one is truly free, be it lowest rabble to the highest nobility.

My idea on why Marvus was so different in the clown car was because he was around the other purple bloods. I think he really didn’t want Joey to have to kill anyone but he had to put up an act most likely for his own safety. Joey even blatantly told him she didn’t kill the first two and he was completely ok with it. I even think Marvus sending Baizli to go kill Joey was set up too cause he also let Xefros go knowing he’d probably help Joey

This is the only song I can ever remember hearing that uses a Shepard's tone in it and honestly? It sounds cool as hell! Really helps build the creepy vibe of the highbloods' car.
The music is by far the best thing in this game. I love the choice of instruments in this track. It manages to be high strung, tense and terrifying. The beat drop is probably intended to represent Alternian Slam Poetry. The character sprites moving back and forth to this really complements the atmosphere.
The one fucking car on that train besides the main engine where you can't fool yourself into thinking everything is going to be ok and with enough can do and spunk you'll be able to get through unscathed.

Honestly, I'm the only one who thinks that they really screwed the Purplebloods? Especially Marvus, even the MSPA wiki says that his personality is completely different from Friendsim.
James Roach said that Friendsim doesn't mean their traits will be exactly as it will be in Hiveswap. Heck, all of the sims are outside of canon like HS^2 and epilogues are. Marvus's own route has him saying outright that the sim 'verse isn't canon at all ("what does it even mean to be uncanon in a non-canonical framework?"). The twins are one of the characters turning out different in the canon. In their route, they explicitly said they're not there to kill anybody, but in Act 2 itself, Baizli's about to grab Joey to murder. Polypa in the troll call and Act 2 is covered bandages and puts her hair up in a ponytail, but wears her hair down and her skin is uncovered in Friendsim. Diemen isn't in a bush anymore. Karako's pretty much the same as he was in the sims so far, tho. Talking to him after doing the first task has him the only clown doing a :o( face. He's also the only one uncelebratory about the twins' situation. Chahut's still a large murderous clown like James said she would be. As for Marvus himself, he's been sketchy since his Friendsim as much as he's still helpful to the game's main protagonist. It's implied that he still has meta knowledge with a few easy-to-miss dialogues. The most obvious one is if you talk to him after one of the tasks, he replies not to worry because nobody related to the plot is going to die. Whichever those characters were. For the helpful part, he's still pretty callous about it with being chill with at least most people dying and all. Zebruh also proclaims that his lyrics say that purplebloods are the most disprevileged class, much like how Marvus tells MSPAR in the good ending. In his route, Marvus pretends to stab MSPAR. The highbloods at the front of the crowd notice the fakery, but engage in violence with other audience members anyway because those further at the back couldn't tell and went frenzy. This is similar to the final fetch quest ordeal. Notice that Joey fumbles her words in coming up with excuses when Chahut spots her obvious lies when she's inspecting the items Joey brought, only for Marvus to constantly reassure everyone quickly that Joey did the job every time. Marvus needs to appease his audience to let the protagonists go through in both Friendsim and Act 2. He made a deal with Joey that he'll make sure that Joey will go through unmolested (the worst she got is a K.O. from Nihkee). There's a loophole. He never said anything about Xefros. With Chahut and the twins in the same car as him, who knows how Joey and Xefros would make it to the front car by themselves? Still, he's pretty questionable. His ultimate motives are unknown aside from wanting to see the system shake. Maybe in the grey area? Who knows at this early point. Marvus is shown to be pretty socially-savvy as early as the train station, so he can probably pull some strings, whether for good or ill. He's even aware that people think he's bad.
Mm, fandom wikis aren't that accurate with canon-accurate info because some of it involves putting their own impressions of the characters instead of just stating what simply happened. It's best to refer to the actual works and commentaries from the developers themselves and use wikis as more of base guidelines that may have a hole here and there.

They sold that game to us saying that is too us to meet the characters and everything, but now they are completely ignoring the game, they basically tricked us into buying something saying that it would matter, but it didn't matter in the end and the whole visual novel became basically useless. (I can even argue that Chahut was simplified in ACT 2, she had more layers in Friendsim). He pretending to stab MSPAR to help him has literally no comparison to what he did to Joey and Xefros. Joey was literally begging him to stop and he plays deaf, even if he is pretending to make Joey go untouched, why didn't he like... accompanied her thought the train all the time? Why didn't he warned her about his plan? If Marvus was really pretending so that Joey can go safe, then why didn't he warned both Xefros and Joey beforehand as he did with MSPAR? Plus, I'm pretty sure that Marvus can let Joey and Xefros go unscratched thought the Purple Wagon, as he is a incredibly famous and influential person. And if Marvus was actually evil and not trying to help Joey, then it's just a bad twist villain like the ones in Disney movies.

You think he'd risk getting exposed while a brute's on the same car as him? He needed to divert everyone's attention. Getting beaten up and held hostage for the meantime's still better than getting killed. When Joey talks to him after the second task, she's about to confess that she made it all up, only to be shushed by Marvus, assuring her that she can figure something up again. Remember that he also constantly catches her every time Chahut spots anything iffy. Also a reminder that Marvus does not have bodyguards in this while Friendsim does. When Joey's about to get killed by Baizli, Xefros says to Joey that Marvus released him "just like that". For now, what we do know is that he wants 1) to shake up the system and 2) entertainment. As to why he can't just accompany them throughout the train, well, thing is, he's been popping up at specific parts since the station all the way to the trial. And for why some characters fall flat, James also explained in the same post (which was months ahead of Act 2, mind you) that Friendsim prioritizes FRIENDSHIP with all of troll call while Act 2 focuses more on the plot and Joey and Xefros have their own objective that doesn't include befriending anybody and people can kill you. Their objective is going to the conductor's car, MSPAR has FRIENDSHIP ingrained in the brain. We still haven't seen other facets of them or what else they have retained from Friendsim. Chahut's softer side isn't present in Act 2 because she's more active in being a threat and an antagonist while Friendsim!Chahut has Reader spending a lot more time with her because the plot demands it by Doc Scratch that it happens. Guess we'll wait until Act 3. I gotta say though, Act 2 feels rushed with the gameplay and interactions. I wish they made more time in honing it with what made Act 1 good. That's another can of worms to open, tho.

Honestly, I'm the only one who thinks that they really screwed the Purplebloods? Especially Marvus, even the MSPA wiki says that his personality is completely different from Friendsim.
James Roach said that Friendsim doesn't mean their traits will be exactly as it will be in Hiveswap. Heck, all of the sims are outside of canon like HS^2 and
epilogues are. Marvus's own route has him saying outright that the sim 'verse isn't canon at all ("what does it even mean to be uncanon in a non-canonical framework?"). The twins are one of the characters turning out different in the canon. In their route, they explicitly said they're not there to kill anybody, but in Act 2 itself, Baizli's about to grab Joey to murder. Polypa in the troll call and Act 2 is covered bandages and puts her hair up in a ponytail, but wears her hair down and her skin is uncovered in Friendsim. Diemen isn't in a bush anymore. Karako's pretty much the same as he was in the sims so far, tho. Talking to him after doing the first task has him the only clown doing a :o( face. He's also the only one uncelebratory about the twins' situation. Chahut's still a large murderous clown like James said she would be.
As for Marvus himself, he's been sketchy since his Friendsim as much as he's still helpful to the game's main protagonist. It's implied that he still has meta knowledge with a few easy-to-miss dialogues.
The most obvious one is if you talk to him after one of the tasks, he replies not to worry because nobody related to the plot is going to die. Whichever those characters were.
For the helpful part, he's still pretty callous about it with being chill with at least most people dying and all. Zebruh also proclaims that his lyrics say that purplebloods are the most disprevileged class, much like how Marvus tells MSPAR in the good ending.
In his route, Marvus pretends to stab MSPAR. The highbloods at the front of the crowd notice the fakery, but engage in violence with other audience members anyway because those further at the back couldn't tell and went frenzy. This is similar to the final fetch quest ordeal. Notice that Joey fumbles her words in coming up with excuses when Chahut spots her obvious lies when she's inspecting the items Joey brought, only for Marvus to constantly reassure everyone quickly that Joey did the job every time. Marvus needs to appease his audience to let the protagonists go through in both Friendsim and Act 2. He made a deal with Joey that he'll make sure that Joey will go through unmolested (the worst she got is a K.O. from Nihkee). There's a loophole. He never said anything about Xefros. With Chahut and the twins in the same car as him, who knows how Joey and Xefros would make it to the front car by themselves?
Still, he's pretty questionable. His ultimate motives are unknown aside from wanting to see the system shake. Maybe in the grey area? Who knows at this early point. Marvus is shown to be pretty socially-savvy as early as the train station, so he can probably pull some strings, whether for good or ill. He's even aware that people think he's bad.
Mm, fandom wikis aren't that accurate with canon-accurate info because some of it involves putting their own impressions of the characters instead of just stating what simply happened. It's best to refer to the actual works and commentaries from the developers themselves and use wikis as more of base guidelines that may have a hole here and there.
@@lusverma2136 I get Friendsim not being 100% canon because of MSPAR, but if we are going they ignore the characters and almost everything that was established there then this makes Friendsim basically a scam. They sold that game to us saying that is too us to meet the characters and everything, but now they are completely ignoring the game, they basically tricked us into buying something saying that it would matter, but it didn't matter in the end and the whole visual novel became basically useless. (I can even argue that Chahut was simplified in ACT 2, she had more layers in Friendsim).
He pretending to stab MSPAR to help him has literally no comparison to what he did to Joey and Xefros. Joey was literally begging him to stop and he plays deaf, even if he is pretending to make Joey go untouched, why didn't he like... accompanied her thought the train all the time? Why didn't he warned her about his plan? If Marvus was really pretending so that Joey can go safe, then why didn't he warned both Xefros and Joey beforehand as he did with MSPAR? Plus, I'm pretty sure that Marvus can let Joey and Xefros go unscratched thought the Purple Wagon, as he is a incredibly famous and influential person.
And if Marvus was actually evil and not trying to help Joey, then it's just a bad twist villain like the ones in Disney movies.
@@sussy3778 Nah. Chahut and the twins are hungry for excitement. Remember that Chahut is also highly respected by other purples to the point that she isn't cautious about violetbloods. You think he'd risk getting exposed while a brute's on the same car as him? He needed to divert everyone's attention. Getting beaten up and held hostage for the meantime's still better than getting killed. When Joey talks to him after the second task, she's about to confess that she made it all up, only to be shushed by Marvus, assuring her that she can figure something up again. Remember that he also constantly catches her every time Chahut spots anything iffy. Also a reminder that Marvus does not have bodyguards in this while Friendsim does. When Joey's about to get killed by Baizli, Xefros says to Joey that Marvus released him "just like that". For now, what we do know is that he wants 1) to shake up the system and 2) entertainment.
As to why he can't just accompany them throughout the train, well, thing is, he's been popping up at specific parts since the station all the way to the trial.
And for why some characters fall flat, James also explained in the same post (which was months ahead of Act 2, mind you) that Friendsim prioritizes FRIENDSHIP with all of troll call while Act 2 focuses more on the plot and Joey and Xefros have their own objective that doesn't include befriending anybody and people can kill you. Their objective is going to the conductor's car, MSPAR has FRIENDSHIP ingrained in the brain. We still haven't seen other facets of them or what else they have retained from Friendsim. Chahut's softer side isn't present in Act 2 because she's more active in being a threat and an antagonist while Friendsim!Chahut has Reader spending a lot more time with her because the plot demands it by Doc Scratch that it happens. Guess we'll wait until Act 3.
I gotta say though, Act 2 feels rushed with the gameplay and interactions. I wish they made more time in honing it with what made Act 1 good. That's another can of worms to open, tho.
