  • Hello everyone! This is Virmer. In this video, we will tell you how to do the your Co2 laser alignment quickly and correctly. We used our Co2 laser cutting and engraving machine Wattsan 6090 LT. For your machine to work properly, regular adjustments are required. Alignment is the process of adjusting the optical path. It works as follows: a beam comes out of the laser tube, it passes through 3 mirrors, enters the focusing lens, and then onto the material.
🔘Lifehacks and tips, what to consider and what should not be done under any circumstances.

If you aim to set the beam at the centre of mirror 3 that may not be the "sweet spot" and you will finish up with off-square cuts. The most important fact is NOT using the nozzle as a means of setting mirror 3. The beam passing through the nozzle will happen naturally if you set the beam correctly at mirror 3. The aim is to make sure the beam passes through the AXIS of the lens. Project that lens AXIS up to mirror 3 and where it hits the mirror is the "sweet spot". This is the point you must be aiming the X axis beam at and this is rarely the centre of mirror 3 or the centre of the head inlet hole. Understanding how and why perfect AXIAL alignment of the Z axis is so important will become very obvious when you swap from a 50.8mm lens to a 101.6mm lens and find the beam does not exit the nozzle hole. Your method will sort of work but lacks understanding of how a lens treats an off-axis or off-angle beam.
There is no criticism intended in my comments, just a nudge for you to do more research on the final stage of beam alignment. It is the most misunderstood part of beam alignment and I have been through the learning stage and have lots of T shirts that record my mistakes. This is a nice machine that can be set perfectly but it will involve adjusting the tube to get perfection and that can be a repetative and irksome procedure, even with the lovely adjustable tube mounts.
Can I suggest you control your spot burm accurately by pressing the Menu button. Move across to the top of the second column and press enter. Move down to Laser Set. This feature will allow you to set and exact pulse time in milliseconds that will ensure you always get a perfect spot burn . I suggest maybe 20 to 50 ms...it depends on the power of your tube.
I can see this is a well designed and robust machine with 15mm bearing rails, a C series head and a Ruida 6445 controller. It has everything you could wish for in a laser machine including the C series lens tube, the most flexible system available. It deserves to sell well.

Thanks for the comment! our machines are very precisely designed and the laser heads of the C series. The whole structure is arranged in such a way that it is enough to get into the center of the third mirror and adjust it, then the beam will not only come to the center of the nozzle, but in general the vertical axis of the beam will go in the center tubes and lenses.
Thanks for the note on the pulse duration, it really deserves to be mentioned in the video, we will definitely include this item in future versions of this video :)
