Just tried this trick. After taking my stereo apart, failing, getting frustrated, and leaving it in my closet for 2 months now. I found this video, gave it a shot, and it actually worked! Thanks dude!

Sir, you are a genius! I have been trying to brainstorm ideas for a few weeks. I was a staff sergeant in the Air Force for 12 years until injured. My job was troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing Communication/Navigation avionics systems on C-130H3 Hercules aircraft. Although this brilliant technique wouldn't fly with Big Brother, it worked instantly for me. I heated up a small safety pin, slid it in, and like you said, I left it about 1 minute and the broken lead came out with the pin, smooth as butta!
    Thank you and Blessed Be,
    Sofie J.

Also i won't lie as a welder some of the easiest fixes take the longest or outside help to figure out. Coding is the same. you can miss one minor thing that someone else will see. It's still a positive experience though.

Forget about trying to hook the nail. The plastic in that tip is so soft just heat the nail tip and apply a little pressure. Worked just as you described. Thank you. Just fixed a $200 Altec Lancing Power Duo picked up at Goodwill for $25.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I bought an $80 pair of speakers last week for my record player. I wanted to run the RCA cable under the door so I could listen on our new houses deck. The right speaker fell on the deck and it's cable snapped off. On a whim I decided to Google and found your video. You just saved my life! Thank you!

BRILLIANT! I can't believe it worked. First try, it worked. I used the straight half of a thin-gauge cotter pin. Made sure before that it would be the right size, and not touch the sides of the port. The metal I used was between 1 and 2 mm. Very little hook on the end, but there was one there. Didn't want the hook part to make it so the metal didn't go inside the broken piece. It worked flawlessly, just like in this video here. Thank you Mark!

Lol, boy! Was I so happy when the pin came out. I first tried with some kind of pin, that didn't work. I then found a 1 1/2" nail that looked like it could melt easier. I then allowed it to stay under the fire until I saw physical change. I then pressed it on to the stuck pin with a little force and waited until I was sure it was stuck. I let go and it was standing alone. I waited a bit to ensure it stuck to it hard enough. I then pulled it out. It was about half way into the pin, lol.

My baby boy broke the video plug off in his DVD player. He's only 2 but man he breaks shit like he's paid to do it. I tried this twice and failed but on the third try I got it! You don't even need to bend the tip just push down with enough force using a thin nail and the nail tip will melt right into the center. Good looking my dude

Another simple trick works everytime Get a cocktail stick snap the pointed end off so you got a thick end, very small dab of super glue 3 on the end of cocktail stick, insert into port, it will push in just a little further, hold untill dry, i give mine 2 mins and slips out real smooth... lot less work to :) and i did this on a snapped METAL rca pin
