Gosh, starting youtube it was such a mind game to let myself use jump cuts. Traditional editing teaches you to avoid them at all costs, but on this platform they’re totally accepted (as long as it’s not overdone).
They're a must in CZcams world!
Heather, this video is VERY timely as I've just filmed the raw footage of my first complete "practice" video, and it will sorely need jump cuts. I'll be using Movavi since it's an editing software I already bought for my kid's CZcams channel.
Oh, and you know how you look down and say "Okay" when you know you've messed up? That's a good cue! Mine is more like rolling my eyes and saying "Sean, FRICK, get your life together." 😅

Yes, definitely use jump cuts to avoid lulls while eating. We use premier pro.
Do a lot of mukbang-ers use jump cuts? Seems like a lot of the ones I see just leave the chewing and silent eating.
@@HeatherRamirez depends on the style. Since we have a convo, we def jump cut to keep the video tight.
Super helpful seeing your editing process. I think I realized that I have been doing some 'jump cuts' in my videos but they don't look as cool and smooth as yours. I think that has to do with jump cuts that are "tight" or "not tight enough", which I don't understand very well. I think it is hard to make some of the cuts when my audio keeps talking. I need to slow down to make these cuts possible. ( ＾◡＾)っ ♡.....wow, I just watched the part about increasing the zoom/changing the angle....that may really be the solution for me.
